Strangers are friends you just haven't met, yet. Even when they are baddies and drive science-fiction-y submarines, wearing a smart grey lounge suit.

Brilliant title and opening ceremony, Massive!

SMALL!! Curtains. NOW.

Got to go - both kids calling, 'tis going to be a long night, I fear...

SupermassiveLBD · 04/05/2011 22:13

Are they both poorly now, Twiggy?
My sympathies

Has Small purloined the soft furnishings yet again?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 04/05/2011 22:34

I wish wwe knew more about our principal, don't you? do you think he has a sinister black leather coat?

Or maybe it's this season's model?

ROFL at the photo of Herr Flick!! :o (Hey, I've just got that - is it a play on words ie. hair flick?) How funny about that photo (and swooooon at those biceps, btw) - I'd always assumed that the pic showed both his arms and that his left arm was reaching across his chest to touch his right arm. But now I see that it's just his right arm.

Has Small purloined the soft furnishings yet again? - Yes, she shoved them up her jumper at the end of the old thread.

TwigBoy is fine but he usually calls out once a night or so and wants to come in our bed. They actually both slept through the night though, woohoo! Well, if you count waking at 5am as through the night, which sadly I do these days.

PassTheTwiglets · 05/05/2011 08:56

What have they done to his ears?!?! Not a Twiglet in sight!

Ah, phew, they're back

Oh, I've just realised I have been a bit stupid and missed the point with the title - I was just lauhging at the Heinz and 57 Varieties connection but what is a palace of varieties? Google brings up loads of them but what is it? Sorry to be dense and take away from your lovely title!!

TheSmallPrint · 05/05/2011 10:00

You lot always spoil my fun.

PassTheTwiglets · 05/05/2011 10:10

:o @ Small

Btw, I keep meaning to say - I am reminded of you at least 10 times a day in my kitchen :) I have a WeightWatchers booklet permanently on the kitchen worktop and it's open at a page which says "Read The Small Print". I walk past it loads and always think "why, what's she said?" :)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/05/2011 11:10

::Looks round, admiringly::

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 11:20

Morning Ladies, I can't stop, lots on here today.
LOL @ Twig's panicked twiglets hunt!
And also Small's sneaky takeover of the WW booklet.
I think a Palace of Varieties is what they sometimes used to call a music hall?
Like this Marie Lloyd performed here, for added Armitage-related goodness Wink

I thought it might reflect some of our musical evenings...

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/05/2011 11:56

Always something fascinating and intelligent Twigs. Wink

OK, have had my hospital appointment and guess what they said?

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 12:19

Do tell, Small

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/05/2011 12:26

I have a fractured metatarsal! They x rayed it again this morning.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 12:38

And it took them all this time to find that out! Shock

Are you relieved or is that nastier than you'd hoped?

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/05/2011 14:32

Sorry, went out to lunch...

Yes, they did xray when I first went but it didn't show anything, then I went back a couple of weeks later when it was like a ballon and a funny colour with pins and needles and they didn't think to try again, they told me it was plantar fasciitis! My GP made this appt for me and I'm glad I went now. I am relieved as at least I know what to expect and that it will get better.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/05/2011 15:23

Hi Ladiez! Was back to zumba last night and work this morning but have been keeping my beady eyes on you!

Glad you at least know what is wrong with your foot now - but what a bunch of nutters that it took them so long to find out. Are they doing anything or is is just time, rest and painkiller?

How are the mini Twiglets today?

I'm sure we must have had before, but if we haven't we should have, and if we have, well whoever heard of too much of a good thing? Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 15:34

Are you testing my vigilance, Spiro?

Mr M is home and I don't want to give him a quick blast, it might give him ideas Shock

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 15:35

properly , I mean. . No clergymen have been harmed while making this post.

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 05/05/2011 15:38

Grin Massive!

I've hardly seen any of Robin Hood and don't normally go for long hair - but the more I see of Season 3 Gizzy the more I feel an attack of SMFV coming on...

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 15:47

Go for it, Spiro, you won't regret it. or then again, you might, all that thudding is quite exhausting. Grin

I don't normally go for long hair, either, I always really detested stubble and men sporting the scruffy look irritated me intensely , but...

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/05/2011 16:18

No clergymen have been harmed while making this post Grin

I think we may have seen it before Spiro but as you say, you can't have too much of a good thing.

The foot is already healing so they are happy to leave it but I have to wear comfy flat shoes, no exercise (as if!) and ice packs.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 17:28

So I am taking it you won't be wearing these for a while, Small? Sad ?

Spiro, I keep forgetting to ask. Are you better now? Did you manage to zumba without needing mouth to mouth ?

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 05/05/2011 17:44

I'm glad you got an explanation for your foot problem, Small! Is the flat shoes forever or just whilst it's healing?

Massive, thanks for the Palace of Varieties explanation. Hence the term 'variety show', I guess!

MissTwiglets seems ok now - she went in for her first maths tuition after school (which she liked, thankfully!) and both kids will be back to school tomorrow. By hook or by crook.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/05/2011 18:03

I must admit I though Palace of Varieties sounded like something totally different, but that's obviously just my dirty mind!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/05/2011 18:51

I thought Palace of Varieties sounded like something totally different

I couldn't possibly comment, Spiro.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/05/2011 19:12

Wow I'm not sure anyone can wear those shoes Massive! High heels are banned til it's healed but I don't really wear them anyway as I am tall.

Twigs glad the twiglets are OK now and that Miss Twigs is enjoying her maths. Smile
