I only watch it on YT - I can't wrest control of the doofer from The Bloke long enough to watch it on the telly. There's a which made the ironing go with a bang!

How broad is your interest in singing, dancing men? Does it extend beyond Mr Drover?

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 16:19

I have had a very interesting day - have never done life painting before but turned out ok (pic on profile). We also had Alison Lapper on our course - she is one amazing woman!

Hmm interesting question Maud, I do like musicals and love the old Doris Day films and such like (I have Oklahoma on DVD) but I guess the rather appealing Mr J has the whole package.

Spiro I am incredibly impressed with your art work, genuinely. I haven't painted since university, never seem to have the time these days. the closest I get to doing anything arty is copying the Beasts out of DS1s Beast Quest books for him Grin.

TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 16:25

Who is Alison Lapper?

TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 16:26

I think I saw that time warp bit on tele recently Maud, I'm sure I didn't see the whole programme though. Confused

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 16:44

Thanks Small. I must admit I was quite chuffed - I don't think I have ever painted a person before - I tend towards more abstract stuff on the rare occasions that I dabble these days.

Alison Lapper is an.artist from Brighton - she had no arms or legs. Someone did a sculpture of her recently that was on the spare plinth in Trafalgar Square.

Alison Lapper on the plinth

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 17:03

What are you doing videoing my Zumba class, Maud? Grin

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 17:07

oh yes, I do know her.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/03/2011 17:10

You go Zumbaing with Shah Rukh Khan, Spiro?

TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 17:11

Not sure about the dance clip Maud, I do like it and I don't like it. I think I prefer the less modern form of the Indian dancing, he's a bit too sparkly in that for me.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/03/2011 17:14

I'll try again. This one is slightly less hip hop.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 17:20

I wish Maud - he's lovely. Although Zumba originated with South American moves, it incorporates other styles - most weeks some of the routines we do are based on bhangra music with lots of Indian dance moves.

(apologies for weird writing in middle of clip)

TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 17:24

Second one is cool Maud Grin, I am sensing a theme here..

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 17:28

Maud we could just do a house swap - maybe some time next year when a certain person is back from Middle Earth Grin!

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 17:31

Have you seen My name is Khan Maud? I meant to watch it when.it came out, but wasn't on locally. I'd be interested to know if it's worth a watch.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 17:33

Well yes indeedy I do like that one Grin he has got a good voice though don't you think?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/03/2011 18:21

No, I haven't, Spiro. I do have Devdas in my pile of films to watch, though. After all, he scores very highly on the checklist -

tall - check
dark - check
handsome - check
gifted in the nasal department - check
wet shirt scenes - check
shirtless scenes - check
can sing - check
can dance - check
hip action - ::gasps for breath::

Mr Jackman, I agree Small, has a very fine voice and other attributes. This is why this thread is an Academy. It's so educational, innit?

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 18:34

I've only seen SRK in interviews for MNIK. Any recommendations gratefully received though Grin

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/03/2011 18:56

To be frank, Spiro, I don't know very much about him.

I found this today - - but the only one I've seen at the cinema is .

TheSmallPrint · 05/03/2011 19:11

My post has disappeared!!

In it I suggested that we set ourselves a challenge based on Mauds checklist. The challenge is to find someone thudworthy who is;

short
blonde
perky nose
not too buff
can't sing or dance

must still be handsome though, we have to maintain some standards.

ps NOT David Tennant.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/03/2011 19:13

Rupert Penry-Jones (don't know what he's like in the singing & dancing dept.)
