Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

And worth every penny, Stripey. There are a lot of bargains there, though BtS is very expensive, for some reason.

The total didn't include Spooks S9 which isn't out till Feb. but I don't think I want to get that anyway -- too sad.

I hope you and everyone else aren't too inconvenienced by the snow, on shopping trips, school runs and with internet orders, etc. Just rain here.

From your link, Styripey:
"Richard appeared uncredited as a Naboo fighter pilot in Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace." Oooh, interesting - I will have to see if I can spot him!

StripeyMoon · 17/12/2010 12:38

you can't twigs, he has a helmet on!

SnowyMoon · 17/12/2010 12:40
PassTheTwiglets · 17/12/2010 12:43

Oh I like it, Snowy! And aha, I see you have beaten me with trying to suss out Naboo Richard :)

MrsLucasNorthPole · 17/12/2010 13:22

Last day for my DD too, but I'm picking her up and taking her straight round to my parents for the night as we were due to be going out (has now been cancelled) so will no doubt be wrapping pressies instead (or finishing Between the Sheets - finally got the peaches last night). Definitely could have done with a can of that cooling spray Xmas Grin!!!

Venetia's coming along nicely too - kittens in the barn Holly Wink! V. masterful!

PassTheTwiglets · 17/12/2010 13:31

Sorry your night out got cancelled, that's a shame.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 17/12/2010 13:40

I love the new name, Snowy!
Yes, Mrs LNP, I am liking the kittens bit. I was still listening late at night but I perked up whenever Lord D did his stuff, sort of went like this

Some interesting out-takes from The Impressionists on YT. Maybe from the DVDs?

Saved a bit of hassle really as DH didn't want to go anyway - shame that I'll now be spending £70 quid to get my hair done and no-one will really see the full effect though (needs colouring anyway but timing would've been good Grin).

MrsLucasNorthPole · 17/12/2010 13:43

Have just looked at BtS on Amazon & Play.com and they've obviously just reissued it. The version I got only about 3 weeks ago is the original issue of it and was only about 8 quid!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 17/12/2010 13:46

What a shame about your brand new hairdo, MrsLNP.
Guess what, TeenageTwitterLucas was going on about the North Pole the other night.Shock I keep meaning to unfollow him but I guess I am just curious about what he's going to say next.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 17/12/2010 13:48

Maybe Amazon have seen the BtS orders flooding in and think they can make a good few bob out of our addiction.

Twiggy, you were asking about the scientific DM article yesterday. Here it is

IIRC string theory is about elementary particles whereas this is talking about the opposite end of the scale. whole universes.
No I don't really understand it properly myself, but wish I did, as I find it fascinating.

Xmas Confused
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 17/12/2010 15:54

Hello ladies.

I have been reviewing the resources to which Snowy linked. There are indeed some lovely visions of Mr Thornton in the first one, despite its gruesome soundtrack (where's a bit of Muse when you need it?) Having devoted far too much some thought to the matter, I think the most thud-inducing persona by a huge margin is Mr Thornton (no surprise there, then). But I am willing to concede that the most phwooar-inducing persona (as thud and phwooar are (I think) different things) might be Guy in his guise as Botticelli's fallen angel. Lucas, on the other hand, is the the most let's heat some soup-inducing persona.

How are you feeling now, Snowy? I hope you have been listening to medical advice.

I have no A levels in common with The Man, but I am sure that Mr Thornton would be capable of passing A level Latin, which I do possess.

Snowy - What does it take to get into architecture school?

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 17/12/2010 15:59

This would be better with moving (and sharper) images, .

Theresahollyinyourmind · 17/12/2010 16:18

Guess what? YT wouldn't let me see either of Snowy's links. But I did see yours, Missy. A good idea, but it could have been a whole lot better. They should have included Mr Thornton's long walk, for instance, and Guy coming down those castle steps in style. And what about Lucas, running? Then it would have fit the lyrics better.

OP posts:
SnowyMoon · 17/12/2010 18:46

Evening

Missy, while I can see the benefits of Guy, the hair is a slight issue for me (but mainly the really long hair) and Lucas gets me hot under the collar everytime no matter how tormented he appears. But we can agree that there is no finer incarnation than Mr Thornton who simply Has It All.

Architecture school usually requires a mix of sciences and art, I did Maths, Physics and Art A levels (with a year of further maths just to show off). You need to be both practical and creative in this job really.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 17/12/2010 20:20

Hello, Snowy. Quiet in here tonight, isn't it?

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 17/12/2010 20:24

Hair done, all so I could come home to sofa, Chinese & Chateau Gizzy - hey ho!

Discovered another thespian coincidence last night. Alun Armstrong is in both Sparkhouse as the main character's abusive dad, and in BtS as client of RA's sex therapist girlfriend.

There must be a desperate shortage of decent actors in the UK given all the crossovers in the Armitage back catalogue alone.

SnowyMoon · 17/12/2010 20:26

Very Holly.

Looks like we can share the lot of them between us.

SnowyMoon · 17/12/2010 20:27

Oh Hello Mrs LN, you're looking particularly lovely this evening.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 17/12/2010 20:30

OMG!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 17/12/2010 20:30

Perhaps you ought to invite John Lucas round being as you are all gussied up with nowhere to go, MrsLNP

Do you think the lack of good actors is because not many people go into the profession, or because not many succeed? I don't remember it ever being mentioned as a career, at school.
