PS, i reasoned tht you owned a sonic lipstick Mk II which was of some use as a lipstick

Theresaholeinyourmind · 02/12/2010 00:50

And just how, Officer Flowers, am I expected to sleep after that particular salvo?

asmallbunchofflowers · 02/12/2010 00:55

Ah, the potency of cheap music.

Flowers - hope I didn't offend with JL's latest romp. I did try and keep him fairly restrained!

Bodenbabe · 02/12/2010 09:41

Morning all, on this snowy day! MiniBoden has a day off school - sort of. The website said they were closed so I told her and she danced around the kitchen in delight - then they updated to say that it was opening at 10am, oops. So I'm going to let her stay home and pretend I didn't see the "open at 10" update :)
They are currently watching Mamma Mia under the duvet and I'm waiting for my parents to come up and play in the snow with them, so I don't have to :)

MrsLN, if Officer Flowers doesn't want him then I'm sure Bo would be willing to have him back :o I loved your latest chapter - nobody wants someone like that in real life but in a story it is utterly fabulous. Flowers, I did giggle at your chinning him with your clipboard scene :) Very funny!

LOVED the limerick with visuals, keep 'em coming! Very amusing! I will have a go later... can also only think of piglet though. Hmmm.

That 'wibble' video was gorgeous (though, like Oyster at the time, as I see from the comments!) I didn't spot the lip-wibble moment. I adore that kiss - there's something about a man cradling a woman's head as he kisses her....

Bodenbabe · 02/12/2010 09:42

Looks like we will need a new home soon, I will set one up later...

Bodenbabe · 02/12/2010 09:57

OMG, as the kids say!!! Not sure if we have any Anne Rice fans here (I doubt it, somehow :) ) but I read on Twitter that she thinks RA would be a great Louis. Of course he would, why did I not think of that?! Louis is one of my favourite characters from literature and RA would be perfect!

Bodenbabe · 02/12/2010 10:10

OK, I have just spent 20 minutes trying to think of a rhyme for 'Lucas' which isn't 'mucus' so I ought to give up and go and do some work now :)

StripeyMoon · 02/12/2010 11:27

Morning all. Can't keep up with everything at the moment as I am a bit swamped with work and getting behind for some reason Xmas Hmm, loving the limericks though and Mrs LNs story (and Flowers riposteXmas Grin).

Theresaholeinyourmind · 02/12/2010 12:14

Morning all. Or afternoon as the case may be Thanks for the Anne Rice link, Boden, that was really interesting. I have never been a fan of hers as I found the vampire books too creepy, but the Angel ones sound interesting, maybe I could deal with those.

And how gratifying to see Mr Armitage mentioned with such praise. As is only his due. That was seriously nice to come in and find.

I hope everyone's day isn't going to be too stressful what with all the awful weather you are having.

MrsLucasNorth · 02/12/2010 12:28

Hope your folks arrive safely Boden.
We've just taken MissLN Sledging for the first time Grin
Am hoping to have a nice cosy afternoon writing Christmas cards and finishing the online pressie shopping but I think snowman building is next on her agenda.

Bodenbabe · 02/12/2010 12:48

How did she like the sledging?!

MrsLucasNorth · 02/12/2010 13:43

Loved the sledging - might put a pic on profile later

StripeyMoon · 02/12/2010 15:37

I dragged DS2 on the sledge this morning. I was too scared to drive so had to walk DS1 to school with little un on tow.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 02/12/2010 15:43

Looks as if everyone is having a busy day what with one thing and another.

I found this in the basement, which I hope will give you a laugh. It reminds me of the days before the interweb, when the only way you could learn the lyrics of the latest hit was to listen and listen again --often in vain!

StripeyMoon · 02/12/2010 16:03

That was funny Theresa but I found myself singing along at the end!

Just found which I quite enjoyed, especially the bit about the super posable horse and James Hewitt!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 02/12/2010 17:06

Thanks so much for posting that vid, Stripes. I have seen several of the BBC America interview ones but not that particular sequence. Lots of fascinating insight into the character of Guy, as well as the plastic horse and James Hewitt bits.
I really enjoyed it.

I had a bit of a chuckle too at the bit on the Naxos website where they mention the box of chocolates sent whenever a new RA audiobook is released ( Still haven't got mine :(.)
I wonder if they are Thornton's.

asmallbunchofflowers · 02/12/2010 18:44

Evening all.

Boden - I wouldn't call myself an Anne Rice fan as my acquaintance with her oeuvre is limited to having seen Interview With The Vampire, but a while ago when we were in the common room brainstorming future roles for Mr Armitage, several vampirish things were mentioned and I did think to myself (I can't remember whether I voiced it here) that he would have made a far more plausible Lestat than did wee Mr Cruise.

MrsLN - Since you asked. I was very surprised to find myself cast in your latest chapter, because not very long ago you suggested to me that I probably didn't want to appear in any of John Lucas' adventures and I agreed that I didn't. And when you're as old as me (which may not be as long as you think, as I am prone to exaggeration) you may find the jokes about hot flushes and general frumpishness have worn a bit thin. I am glad that your John Lucas stories are enjoyed by so many but please do not write Flowers into them again, or she may have to deploy the unarmed combat skills she learnt while she was a PT instructor in the SAS.

StripeyMoon · 02/12/2010 18:47

Flowers, I am now intrigued as to how old you are exactly?

asmallbunchofflowers · 02/12/2010 18:50

Now that, Stripey, really would be telling.

Sorry Flowers - it's taken me so long to get going with JL had forgotten that you declined to partake of him tbh.
If it helps I was picturing you as a kind of sexy, mid 40's cross between Miss Moneypenny and Anne Robinson (hope I haven't dug myself an even bigger hole there....Blush)

asmallbunchofflowers · 02/12/2010 20:05

Anne Robinson?

Apart from that, no hard feelings, MrsLN. Have a little treat .

Theresaholeinyourmind · 02/12/2010 21:07

Hello all, looks like I missed the evening rush--again. Heve you consumed all the refreshments?
Nice vid, Flowers. I see the twiglets are not all gone then.
