Hello ladies.
Had meant to say earlier (postus interruptus because the SmallBloke entered the room) that anyone coming into the common room late at night to find me wittering about Mr Thornton is welcome to (a) join in (b) share their learning about other Armitage Incarnations or (c) tell me to clear off home.
Theresa - many thanks for the pick and mix, especially that utterly thrilling moment at the end where Mr Thornton is glimpsed removing his cravat.
I agree, up to a point, that part of the charm of his visage lies in his nose but, actually, I think his physiognomy is more than the sum of its parts. It's the chiselled granite quality. As I've said, I'd like to sculpt him.
I agree too that the ending of Spooks was implausible, but then there's a lot about Spooks that's implausible. We were asked to believe that, having spent years constructing his new identity as Lucas, he would put all that in jeopardy in the unrealistic hope of rekindling a relationship with a woman he hadn't seen for a decade and who would probably be repelled if she knew what he'd been doing since last she knew him. However, the one bit I do find plausible is that, once everything fell apart, he would throw himself off the building rather than face going back to prison for a long time without even the thought of Maya to console him. I don't think the rooftop showdown was about killing Harry - it was about making some sort of connection to the real Lucas.
Oops. That's rather long.
Will go looking in the YT basement for something cheery.
