NC of course.

This was before I had my DC. He has a daughter who we had the majority of the time.

What drugs did he deal? Did you feel unsafe? Why did he stop? Did you have a nice lifestyle?

Mainly crack cocaine and heroin but was involved in selling some weed and cocaine too.

I never felt unsafe until the last few months of our relationship.

We had a really nice lifestyle. Probably a nicer lifestyle than I'll ever have again.

How did you square it with yourself morally? I don’t mean that in a judgemental way, but heroin and crack?

NoDabbingPlease · 14/12/2020 21:09

Did he launder the money and if so how?

How many steps away from the "street dealers" was he?

PheasantFeathers · 14/12/2020 21:10

How much did your friends and family know about what he did?

NoDabbingPlease · 14/12/2020 21:10

For the record I'm not lookimg for money laundering tips Grin. Just curious. I know in Breaking Bad they used a car wash for it.

Hawkins001 · 14/12/2020 21:16

How would you define big ?

I was extremely selfish. I would often think about how morally wrong it was but I didn't care enough.

Yes, he owned four small takeaway businesses, so the money was cleaned that way.

Sorry, I forgot to say he was a good few steps away. There is absolutely no way he would ever be on the streets selling drugs himself.

@PheasantFeathers

Almost all my friends knew, my sister knew but my parents did not. They know now though.

He was very well known in our area so I couldn't have kept it a secret from my friends even if I wanted to.

How nice was your lifestyle? Did you have a big house/flashy cars etc? Did any family members get suspicious how you lived that lifestyle?

BiscuitsUnited · 14/12/2020 21:22

Why did you split up?

How did he get into that line of 'work'?

FloorLamp · 14/12/2020 21:22

Did he get caught? What made him stop? Does he have a normal job now?

ebsmahogany · 14/12/2020 21:23

@Hawkins001

How would you define big ?
Laundering money, living a very comfortable lifestyle, well respected in the "game". He would rarely handle the drugs himself and had lots of people working for him.

piglet81 · 14/12/2020 21:24

Are/were you and he drug users?

ebsmahogany · 14/12/2020 21:24

We lived in a four bed in a gated community, we both drove a nice car each. No super cars, but nice cars.

My family never expressed any suspicions, however my dad now says that he always wondered. We told them he was a business owner and exaggerated his success in that field.

He went to prison and I know he will probably come out and do the same thing. The lifestyle wasn't for me anymore but he has no intention of ever stopping.

His dad sold drugs too but on a smaller scale, he started off selling weed in a small area and it grew from there. Making friends with other drug dealers is what escalated it.

How did you have a “really nice” lifestyle while you knew where the money came from? As in ruin lives.

ebsmahogany · 14/12/2020 21:28

@FloorLamp

Did he get caught? What made him stop? Does he have a normal job now?
Yes, he got caught. He's still in prison.

@piglet81

I was a drug user at one point, he took drugs recreationally before we were together but never took drugs whilst we were together.

"Really nice" in terms of being financially comfortable with nice, material things. It was morally wrong and I feel guilty now, I did at the time.

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 14/12/2020 21:33

Did you know what he did when you got together with him, or was it a slow realisation, or did you find out?

worriedandannoyed · 14/12/2020 21:34

How old were you at the time? How come you weren't in trouble with the police too as you knew what he was doing?
