Oh I've loved this thread, thanks OP. So exciting!

You seem absolutely lovely - I adore the mental image of you and your DH having a takeaway wearing pyjamas together. So sweet.

I've previously been very judgmental about footballers and WAGs Blush so consider me told off and I will always remember this thread when I go to say something detrimental.

Thanks for sharing Gin

Do you no Coleen and do you think she gets a hard time I’m terms of the press ?

I don't know Coleen but I agree she seems lovely and gets a really hard time from the press. In fact I can't think of ONE wag that the media portrays in a positive light for the majority of the time??

But how do you decide what percentage of your income is fair and acceptable to spend on designer handbags?

So do you agree you won't buy more than one a month, at a couple of £k (for the sake of argument) or do you agree with each other that you'll discuss purchases over a certain amount

Omg one a month I'd need a whole new house just to store my handbags Grinmakes mental note to buy handbag house ASAP

We definitely discuss big purchases and I don't actually think I've ever bought a handbag (or anything over a couple of grand) without DH present.
I'm lucky that he really enjoys shopping (I know I know I've really lucked out with this one!) so when we go to Harrods it's always on a joint adventure Grin

Do you receive a set amount each week/month for yourself and you spend it how you wish, if so do you try to save out of it?

Also, are you sure you don't have a cleaner in your temporary place? Whhhyyy? Is it for privacy?

No I don't receive a set amount, we share a bank account that his wages go into so theoretically I could spend what I want. He's very good like that but probably because he knows I won't buy anything expensive without clearing it with him first. He's much more spendy than me and it's sometimes difficult because I still feel it's 'his' money so I can't moan too much!

I did have a cleaner in this temp house for a little while but honestly I felt so guilty because I don't have a job, two kids are at school, one goes to nursery part time so I felt like a real lazy wife tbh. And it's not a huge house with loads of rooms... Don't get me wrong though, if I was to get a job even part time the cleaner would be back for sure! I do miss the way she ironed my clothes though... I'm just SO RUBBISH at ironing?!

@AndIWouldWalk500Yards

I bloody love leeds. I have a lot of family who live there and I love visiting. Now THATS a team that should be in the PL again. But there's always one drama or another with the management eh?!

A pp mentioned when she grew up in Leeds the players sent their kids to the local school. I live in a (sadly now former) PL city and my children attended a state school with the children of a few players. One player in particular was very down to earth, approachable and absolutely lovely.

I live around the corner from the only private school in town so get a few players parking outside my house. One of them is tiny; I actually thought he was his son climbing out of the driver seat.

Do you get help with finding schools?

Not really, I'm sure the help is there if needed but I always take it on myself to research into the schools. My best friend is in school leadership so I often rope her into helping me choose which one is best!

I want to see the handbag too!

I like the Benefit they're real mascara, although it's a pain to get off. Also the Dior show (?i think) is great.

Would the average mumsnetter recognise you on the street? Or would your name be familiar?

(for reference when the England team trotted out in the first WC match, I'd only heard of two of them - respect to Southgate for steering them, and their WAGS, away from the glossies / gossip mags / front pages)

I was the one who asked about perfume and makeup because I'm nosey just like all the rest of us! Just to see what brands one might buy when money is no object. Yes I have no idea what the OP looks like, fine by me! As you were Wink

OP, from what you've said it sounds like your DH is fairly late in his career –does he still have dreams of getting picked up by a bigger club? Does that still motivate him? Or has he settled into his "level" now?

Also, has he ever been involved in any dressing-room drama? Like one of those "the manager has lost the dressing room" situations where nobody respects the manager?

No googling here, none of my business who the OP is. That’s kinda the point here, no?

Here is the reckless handbag. A bargain at 50% off. 👍. I'll admit it is a bit safe but I like the tri-colour aspect of it and figured it will go with everything. Value for money etc etc and other pathetic attempts at justifying said recklessness.

When I'm properly grown up I will get myself a JW Anderson handbag. They are lush.
