Thanks for sharing the contents of your beautiful handbag (and highlighting my typo Smile)...love being nosey and Huda make-up rules. Trendsetter lip pencil and gloss are mega!
I've been looking forward to catching up on this thread all day. Thanks OP

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 13/07/2018 16:49

What a lovely thread, and to echo others, your DH is a lucky man!

Atalune · 13/07/2018 16:57

Have you found that you have to maintain a certain weight/dress size to fit in with your peers?
whats your favourite drink?

When I went out with some friends in alderly edge a few months ago, I was nervous about what to wear and really did make much more of an effort.

I also drank porn star martinis, delicious and lethal.

Cersei1 · 13/07/2018 17:36

Have you got any World Cup panini swaps? 😂

Seriously though- my H is a barrister and qualified agent. What would your advice be to start getting clients? How did your H pick his agent?

greeneyedlulu · 13/07/2018 18:14

iamawagama or Atalune ????
Have you, yourself, just outed your other username???

Great thread though!

ASongOfRiceAndPeas · 13/07/2018 18:23

Name change quickly iamwagama!

RocketWoof · 13/07/2018 18:24

Waga-you sound FAB!

iamawagama · 13/07/2018 18:30

Loooool no I think Atalune Just highlighted her Q in bold for ease and answered from her own perspective Grin

My fave drink atm is a spritz for the sunshine, g&t or a good champagne. Pornstar martinis are amazing but sooooo calorie laden I will have one then switch

How did your H pick his agent?

DH has had the same agent since he was 14 so I really couldn't give any advice. It's a great business to get into though as the commission on big money moves is amazing!

No sorry- I just asked and answered my own question as I like to see the comparison!

I’m an education advisor and mother of two with a workaholic husband and never enough ££££!

Thought the daily mail was going to have a field day

IAmMumWho · 13/07/2018 18:50

Hi @iamawagama

I'd like to apologise as I think I may have guessed your name yesterday. I noticed my post was deleted by MN admin then a post from MN admin stating your name had been guessed. So I'm sorry xx

SqueakyBinders · 13/07/2018 18:57

Fab thread. And as a direct result I've just gone and recklessly bought a new handbag. Outnet though, so reduced a squillion times and not nearly as lovely as any Tom Ford offering on Net-a-Porter!

Love your down to earth approach to life. We can have all the trimmings in the world, can't we, but at the end of the day it's just stuff. It's the big things that count.

I have a friend who is super rich. She's got a huge house, yacht, cars, fab jewellery, beautiful and expensive furniture and things in her house etc etc. She says that, to her, it all means nothing and the only thing she would save in a fire would be the art bits and bobs her kids have made in school (once she's saved the actual kids LOL). You sound just like her.

Flisspaps · 13/07/2018 19:05

@IAmMumWho MNHQ are deleting all of the posts with names in because several of us are reporting them when we see them.

I can't scroll back to the post they put up (phone is being an arse) but I thought it just said not to guess at OPs request and that guessing isn't in the spirit of the site - but not that you (or anyone else) had guessed correctly.

Cersei1 · 13/07/2018 19:08

Thank you for answering- my son might be a footballer so we can start with his dad being his agent 😂

MikeUniformMike · 13/07/2018 19:13

I wouldn't count on your guess being the correct guess. Lots of guesses have been deleted, and they can't all be right.
I think OP has thrown in a few red herrings.

Floradoranora · 13/07/2018 19:15

I noticed my post was deleted by MN admin then a post from MN admin stating your name had been guessed. So I'm

Posts are being reported each time someone mentions a name. Dont worry.

IAmMumWho · 13/07/2018 19:31

@Flisspaps @MikeUniformMike @Floradoranora

Thanks for your replies. Didn't realise other names had been removed. There's still a few near the top and as of this morning were still on

DreamingofSunshine · 13/07/2018 19:49

iamwagama I love Bond New York perfumes! I keep the empty bottles as they are so pretty.

I don't want to out myself but I've worked with a lot of footballers and other sports people who do loads for charity, both financial donations and giving their time.

Imagingerbreadman · 13/07/2018 20:31

Do you no Coleen and do you think she gets a hard time I’m terms of the press ? I think she seems lovely and clearly loves her children. Whenever there is an article on mail I always think the comments are really nasty and uncalled for.

OFuckShitAndBollocks · 13/07/2018 21:04

I don't have any questions but I live this thread! You sound lovely and so does your dh!

OFuckShitAndBollocks · 13/07/2018 21:05

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 13/07/2018 21:06

This is a really intereting thread OP. I grew up in the 1970s/80s living on a fairly normal estate in Leeds. Both Billy Bremner and Jackie Charlton lived on our estate when they were playing for Leeds. They both lived in very ordinary semis. Although Billy Bremner had a swimming pool in his back garden. Yep, he had a swimming pool installed in the back garden of his semi detached house. Some of my friends used to swim in it.

In the mid 1980s a Leeds and Welsh internation player moved in next door to us. I remember my DM being shocked when his wife told her that that they were paying £300 a month on their mortgage when my parents were paying about £30.

To put it into context it's a nice estate in Leeds but you can buy a house for under £250K. I don't think many footballers would live there now.

Which is a bit sad really. They were part of the community. They used to go and pick up their kids from the primary school and talk to other kids and parents. I think that has been lost now.

willtheyevergotosleep · 13/07/2018 21:08

Hi Iam, interesting thread; you do sound likeable. I like a bit of modesty in a person Wink

My question is a bit intrusive so obviously you don't have to answer, but you did say ask me anything. I was wondering how you and your DH decide how to spend/save your income. I think it's easy to agree on how much a household might spend on food/eating out/holidays etc. But how do you decide what percentage of your income is fair and acceptable to spend on designer handbags? (I'm with you on that one by the way, no judgement here, I have a bit of a weakness myself.)

So do you agree you won't buy more than one a month, at a couple of £k (for the sake of argument) or do you agree with each other that you'll discuss purchases over a certain amount how on earth do you hide what you've bought in that case before actually buying? Or do you drop lot of hints for birthdays?

Do you receive a set amount each week/month for yourself and you spend it how you wish, if so do you try to save out of it?

Also, are you sure you don't have a cleaner in your temporary place? Whhhyyy? Is it for privacy?

GrumbleBumble · 13/07/2018 21:16

Thode of you who think all footballers are greedy selfish so and so should check out the news stories about the England team donating their match fees to charity. Something they have done for 10+ years.
