Due to living in a small island I'm frequently bored. Hence the thread.

What do you do for a living

Do you have a boat to go to the shops/town?

Do you listen to the shipping news?

Do you ever put a crown on and still about being king of your own island?

How may people share your island? How far off-shore are you?

I'm a sahm to ds. I'm busy though because we grow our own veg (when it's not too cold!) and have lots of chickens.

I help Dh in his business sometimes now ds is at pre k.

Which coast are you on?

Do you stay on the island over the winter?

We have two shops (one sells a lot of British stuff!).

We have a cafe that stays open late on Thursdays for pizza night. And a post office. That's it though.

We do have three boats. A fast one we use to get to the mainland, a sail boat and a little power boat to buzz around in a catch lobsters/fish.

I don't listen to the shipping news. Dh has lots of fancy phone apps.

If I stomped around pretending I was Queen (which I'd like to) people would be very upset. There's a weird love/hate thing about Brits here.

Have you always lived there? Have you ever lived elsewhere? Will you expect your son to live there when he's an adult?

Do you ever get cut off by the weather?

There's 500 of us who stay year round (we do too.)

It swells to 3000 around this time of the year. It's a bit of a shock!

We're only 3 miles from the mainland.

Why are you living there?

I've been here 8 summers and moved here 6 years ago.

I moved from London so it was a huge culture shock!

I want to stay here. We have a nice quality of life despite it being hard at times. Dh wants to move to the UK! I moved because we got married.

I can't vote yet but would have voted for Bernie, failing that Hillary!

Most of our island voted Democrat. Our area on the Midcoast is pretty liberal and lovely.

Not sure who station 11 lady or Betty is.
