He’s more thorough than my last one (a right Vileda workhorse who I was still very sad to see go). While there’s no getting away from the premium price tag (RRP £1,199, though it's currently on offer for £749!), you certainly get what you pay for with this high spec robot vacuum - the world’s first with robotic retractable legs capable of scaling over ledges up to 6cm high.

Having tested the Dreame X50 in her home with children and two dogs, Mumsnet editor Rebecca has given it a wholehearted seal of approval, describing it as one of the most advanced robot vacuums MNHQ has tested.

Rebecca loved the accurate 360° scanning sensor, which created detailed maps of her entire home, allowing it to plan the best route. You can even create individual room settings, customising each room based on the amount of traffic, or assigning turbo modes to the areas where your pets may shed the most.

In addition to dodging obstacles, furniture and, of course, pets themselves, the Dreame X50 features an impressive DuoLeap System, which navigates up and down ledges without the risk of toppling. Rebecca loved how this robot vacuum moved calmly and logically throughout her home, picking up all dust and debris - while leaving those deeply satisfying, freshly vacuumed marks across her carpets.

With a powerful suction of 20,000 Pa and a smart detangling DuoBrush, the Dreame X50 tackled both fluff and long hair (Rebecca’s and her dogs'!), providing impressive cleaning across carpets and hard flooring without any dips in performance.
