Tui Blu Tropical is incredible. We booked again for this summer. My children are teenagers but lots for families all ages. Food amazing, on the beach (but we found to hot in August!) clubs for little ones. Chilled out but plenty to do if you want. And the 20minute transfer is a winner!

I’ve been to TUI tropical twice. Once with a 2 year old. TUI blue is great for little ones and not crazy loud, the holiday villages are apprently more boisterous. My kids do love the crappy entertainment but there are plenty of quiet places to chill around the hotel durring the day and evening.

Our verdict

Located on the beachfront in Sarigerme along Turkey's Turquoise Coast, Tui BLUE Tropical is surrounded by pine woods and offers spectacular sea views.

The pools are the star of the show at this family-friendly resort. There are three just for the kids, as well as a sheltered baby paddling pool.

We love the large lagoon pool with water slides surrounded by tropical palms and the indoor pool is great if you need to seek shade.

There's decent entertainment on offer for children and adults. During the day, the kids’ club offers age-appropriate activities for children aged 3-11, including pool games, tennis, volleyball and football; while in the evening, there’s a range of comedy and live music.

There are five restaurants to hop between including Indian and Italian options. The main buffet restaurant has a whole section geared up specifically for children, so even the fussiest eaters won't go hungry.

Many Mumsnetters are repeat guests at this 5-star hotel making it our pick for the best TUI BLUE resort for families.

We stayed at the TUI Blue Lagoon Princess in Halkidiki in a swim up room. It was a beautiful hotel, although in the middle of nowhere with nothing to visit nearby.

Our verdict

On Halkidiki’s gorgeous Aegean Sea coast, the TUI BLUE Lagoon Princess is a luxurious retreat with chic rooms and a huge array of family-focused facilities

Active families will love the outdoor playground, the large family pool, and the splash pool with water slides. And TUI mascots Bamse and Captain T are on hand to provide entertainment throughout the day and into the evening.

There’s a special kids’ buffet in the main restaurant as well as a traditional taverna and a beachfront grill. The resort is also a short stroll from Kalives Village for local food options.

Fancy splashing out? Plump for a swim-up room or a junior suite with its own private pool -  a brilliant choice if you're travelling with water babies.

We liked the Tui Blu Palm Garden, not a water park as such but fun slides and lots of other sports. Food was good too.

Our verdict

It’s rare to find a hotel that has so many positive reviews on TripAdvisor. With 1500+ excellent ratings praising the hotel’s location, facilities and staff, Palm Garden makes an obvious choice as our top TUI BLUE pick.

Set on the stunning Turkish Riviera, families will love the access to a sand and pebble beach and while the swimming pier will appeal to older children and teens, it's worth noting that the water bed is relatively steep, so it may be less suitable for younger children or less confident swimmers.

In terms of facilities, kids will be spoilt for choice, from the large pool with five water slides to the outdoor play area, tennis courts and mini golf course. The children’s pool bar is likely to prove a big hit as kids can pick up soft drinks, frozen yoghurt and non-alcoholic cocktails as often as they like during the day.

The jewel in the crown? The kids’ clubs that run six days a week so that parents can take a well deserved trip to the resort’s relaxing Turkish baths, safe in the knowledge that their children are making new friends and taking part in fun activities tailored to their age.

Pros
  • Short 45-minute transfer from Lanzarote Airport

  • Kids' pool, water slides and a splash park

  • Pushchair-friendly promenade

  • Lots of fun family activities on offer

Cons
  • Pools and activities better suited to younger kids

  • Some rooms look a little dated compared to other more luxurious TUI BLUE resorts

Key specs

Did flamingo beach 3 years ago and it was great as the beach itself is fantastic and just outside. Very safe for little ones! You also get a sea view in all rooms as far as I can tell. Kids club was great. Pools are not that great for your older one in terms of slides etc (better for little one) but overall it was a great holiday and a really good location. Mini disco is brilliant!

Our verdict

All the perks of a TUI BLUE resort without the hefty price tag? Flamingo Beach is one of the more affordable TUI BLUE resorts and it's just a 35-minute transfer from Lanzarote Airport. This low-rise resort is set on Playa Flamingo's sandy bay and is a short stroll from Marina Rubicon and Playa Blanca. You can even catch a ferry to nearby Fuerteventura should you wish to tick off another Canary Island in the same trip.

There are loads of loungers and parasols for soaking up the almost guaranteed year-round sun and you can switch between the large family pool, activity pool or the more relaxed pool depending on your mood. Young kids will love the colourful slides and chutes in the pools as well as the splash park and the soft play area.

With tennis, football, yoga and swimming lessons up for grabs plus a kids' clubs running six days a week, this hotel is a great all-rounder for families. There's also a full roster of evening entertainment including kids' parties, mini discos and character meet and greets.

Tui Blue Aura is a good quality 4 star and one of the better Tui hotels we’ve stayed in. The splash park is good for a 7yo.

Our verdict

Recently refurbished, TUI BLUE Aura enjoys a prestigious position on the calm, turquoise waters of Port d’es Torrent Bay on the quieter, more secluded western side of Ibiza.

There's a split-level pool with spectacular views of the sea and guests get free entry to the next door water park with rapid slides, tubes and a pirate-themed zone for little ones.

On the activities front, take your pick from table tennis, darts, pool, billiards, soft play, aerobics, a swim school and multi-purpose sports court. The entertainment team arranges a variety of family-focused games, activities, and sports seven days a week.

Stunning beaches, a fabulous Mediterranean climate and ancient landmarks make holidays to Bulgaria a good choice for families. Located in Bulgaria's popular Sunny Beach resort, TUI BLUE Nevis is an ultra-modern, family-friendly complex.

If your kid spend most of their holiday time in the water, they'll love the facilities here. The impressive pool complex includes a main pool, quiet pools, and indoor pool and three thrilling water slides. There's also a splash zone for little ones and a swim school so that kids aged four to nine can hone their skills in the sun.

There's a buffet (of course) as well as a traditional taverna and a cafe for drinks, snacks and smoothies.
