TUI blue tropical or Oludeniz?

Hello! I am planning a holiday for my family, it’s myself, DH, DD 2 years old and my parents who are in their early 60s.

I’ve already booked flights to Dalaman (there’s a reason my parents can only fly there), and the hotel which is TUI Blue Tropical after reading all the good reviews.

But my heart is still torn. I’ve never done an all inclusive holiday with the whole family and usually prefer quiet bohemian places with independent shops and tranquil nature to explore. I’ve been recommended Port De Pollenca on this forum for my requests and absolutely loved it last year!

When I saw Oludeniz I knew it was my sort of place. I found a little simple hotel Sundia by Liberty Suncity. It’s beautiful and close to a stunning beach, but almost no kids facilities and entertainment. I wonder if she’s going to be bored (I have a very social child).

Please help me decide. With the 2 year old and my parents - is it better to go to TUI, because of the convenience and skip the need to see nature and explore around because it will be too much with a toddler? I am a little scared that all the good reviews are written by families who love night entertainment with flashing lights and drinking near the pool, I hope not to offend anybody.

Or is TUI blue tropical is not as loud and crazy as I think?

If anyone been to both Oludeniz (any hotel) and TUI Blue with a small child, which one did you prefer? (I would go to Liberty Lykia
if I had a budget, but I can’t afford it unfortunately).

Thanks so much!

I’ve been to TUI tropical twice. Once with a 2 year old. TUI blue is great for little ones and not crazy loud, the holiday villages are apprently more boisterous. My kids do love the crappy entertainment but there are plenty of quiet places to chill around the hotel durring the day and evening. As for drinking I would have one beer in the afternoon and the cliente is of mixed nationalities including Turkish so it’s more chilled than some AL.

What time of year are you going? I guess this is mute as the flights are already booked but it can get very hot.

Have been to Liberty Lykia many times, though a while ago now. It was great for kids.

Thanks so much. Sounds promising! It’s in the end of May.

I was just looking at booking oludeniz. I also like small bohemian type places, visiting local tavernas and cafes. And not with lots of entertainment. However. I am not sure this is Oludeniz. Most of the hotels all have entertainment except for a very small number. I watched a video of a walk through “the strip” on an evening which kind of put me off as it’s very busy

I have never been to Turkey and I am struggling to decide what is best too

Oludeniz is beautiful but not the quiet bohemian place you might think it is. I have heard very good things about the Sundia hotel though and the lagoon beaches are lovely and safe for children

Interesting! I was not sure either. Now when I looked at the videos I think Fethiye is more like it, or perhaps Kusadasi although it’s too far away from the airport we’re flying too (Dalaman).

Thanks for this!

So far I’m still booked at TUI and not 100% convinced about Oludeniz.

Why don't you have a look at Dalyan? That might suit you better. It's smaller, has a lovely beach with protected turtles and a turtle sanctuary, the ancient city of Kaunos is nearby and it's a nice short transfer from Dalaman too

Purplturpl · 09/03/2025 14:43

Dalyan looks quite nice. Have you been there? I am wondering with the river if it’s bothering by mosquitoes

I haven’t no! Thanks for the suggestion.
There option could be to still stay at TUI and travel there.

Oludeniz is not quiet and bohemian.

It's very busy. The lagoons are lovely but have lots of sunbeds crammed into every available space and lots of drinks/snacks shops.

Thirty years ago maybe.
