A 20-minute hop from Dalaman Airport, TUI Blue Tropical has a prime location on Sarigerme’s beachfront with spectacular views across the bay.

Pools are the star attraction here with three designed just for kids, including a sheltered baby paddling pool and palm tree-studded lagoon pool with flumes and slides.

There’s loads of fun entertainment on offer for kids and adults. During the day, the kids’ clubs offer age-appropriate activities for children aged 3-11, including pool games, tennis, volleyball and football. And in the evening, there’s a range of comedy events and live music to enjoy.

On the food front, five restaurants will keep the whole family happy, with dishes spanning Italian to Indian cuisine, as well as traditional Turkish options. And the main restaurant features a children’s buffet section.

We went this summer. It's a lovely hotel. Pools are smaller than the other Tui Blues we have done. The local beach is really beautiful and a sunset swim is a must. Ibiza itself is just brilliant. Such a chilled almost hippy vibe. Do go to Ibiza old town which is brilliant fun. Food is decent in the hotel too. Much smaller than flagship Tropical which will be hard to beat. Waterpark is a fun addition at Aura too.

No bungalows but the family rooms have a sliding partition. 2 minute walk to the beach, water park on site, walking distance to local shops / restaurants. Pedalos, SUP, scuba on the beach.

We recently went to TUI Blue Aura in August, we had a great time, they have a small water park attached, we had a 7 year old who lived her best life, I think the bigger slides would suit your teen, they also have a football pitch. Entertainment is very much geared towards either adults of smaller children though.

Our verdict

Completely revamped in 2019, this Balearic beauty is perfect for families with young kids. A couple of minutes’ walk from Port de Torrent’s sheltered beach, it’s the perfect base for those first sandy steps - and there’s a handy boardwalk to make it easy to push a pram down to the shoreline.

As well as a large outdoor family pool, an indoor pool, a shaded children’s pool and a splash park, there’s a fantastic waterpark - home to tube slides and rapids - just next door and entry is completely free.

The main buffet restaurant offers a huge selection and the a la carte Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant with live cooking stations makes a great fancy dining option.

Kids’ clubs run six days a week and activities are tailored to different age groups. Little ones can expect regular appearances from TUI Blue mascot Captain T Dog, while teens will appreciate relaxed socialising at The Hangout.

3

Blue Lagoon Village, Kos

What we like

  • Luxurious spa

  • Eight restaurants to choose from!

  • Sweeping sea views

  • Number of pools: Five

Kos, blue lagoon village, swim up two bed family room with sea view. The suite was the biggest and best I’ve stayed in. Only box it doesn’t tick is it is a bit on its own but to be honest there was so much there it didn’t matter. Kos is a small island with lots a short taxi ride away if you did want to get off resort.

Our verdict

Set in a secluded bay, this stunning low-rise resort is perfectly positioned for a restful escape. Part of TUI’s Platinum collection, you’ll find luxury touches throughout, from the swim-up rooms (better suited to families with confident swimmers) to the lush spa.

Foodie families will be spoilt for choice with no fewer than eight restaurants including a speciality seafood spot overlooking the sea, and a traditional Greek taverna.

As sophisticated as it looks, there’s plenty of fun on offer for kids, with five pools including a waterpark complete with a giant pirate ship and a smaller pool equipped with dinky slides.

In addition to the kids’ clubs for children 3-12, the playground, mini golf course, soft play area, tennis courts and mini football will keep active kids happy.

Highly recommend TUI Blue Flamingo Beach. Food is very good, nice villa type complex, beach next to hotel. Pool is a bit chilly for me but kids are ok. Sea is lovely. Good value. Lots of people, like us, are returning customers.

The TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach resort in Lanzarote was great. At the buffet restaurant, gluten-free pizzas were be made fresh to order and at the breakfast buffet there were separate toasters and utensils specifically for GF guests. They labelled dishes that were gluten, dairy or nut-free. Plus, each apartment comes with a kitchenette for cooking meals if you’d prefer to eat in some nights.

Steps from Playa Flamingo Beach on Lanzarote’s southwest coast, TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach is part of the TUI BLUE For Families collection so it’s fully geared up for family fun. The apartments are perfect for kicking back in after hopping between the resort’s trio of pools and brightly coloured splash park.

For Canarian cuisine, you can take advantage of one all-inclusive visit to the a la carte Taverna per stay, or enjoy beachfront dining at the Green & Grill El Duque. The main restaurant features a kids’ buffet. And young foodies can join a cooking class with TUI mascot, Captain T.

There’s plenty to explore on the island and you can catch a ferry to nearby Fuerteventura if you want to tick off a couple of Canary Islands during your stay.

TUI BLUE Lagoon Princess, Halkidiki

What we like
  • Secluded beachfront setting

  • Fun splash pool with fountains and a shaded paddling pool

  • Three restaurants and easy access to tavernas in Kalives (around 500m away)

  • Nearest airport: Thessaloniki (39 miles)

  • Number of pools: Five

It’s cheaper than Ikos or some of the other really high end ones but still has a lovely vibe and is right on the beach. No wrist bands, fights for Sun loungers, pissed up idiots drinking dawn til dusk because the AI stops at the sort of time a normal person would actually like a drink (because it isn’t time limited). A nice laid back family vibe. I found the food good, it is a buffet most evenings but it’s a good buffet.

On Halkidiki’s gorgeous Aegean Sea coast, the TUI BLUE Lagoon Princess is a luxurious retreat with chic rooms and a huge array of family-focused fun.

Active types will love the outdoor playground, the large family pool, and the splash pool with water slides. And TUI mascots Bamse and Captain T are sure to wow little ones.

There’s a dedicated kids’ buffet in the main restaurant plus a traditional taverna and a beachfront grill. The resort is also a short stroll from Kalives Village for local food options.

Fancy splashing out? Opt for a swim-up room or a junior suite with its own private pool -  a brilliant choice if you have youngsters that like to nap in the afternoon.

On Fuerteventura’s south coast, TUI Magic Life is a beachfront retreat with stunning views of the Pico de la Zarza mountain range.

There are four pools to splash around in as well as access to a long sandy beach. Once you’ve fully recharged there are tons of activities to try your hand at including mountain biking, volleyball and Pilates, plus a full roster of fun events for kids aged 3-6 including picnics, treasure hunts and DJ workshops.

For families travelling with babies and toddlers, some rooms offer a sliding partition, meaning your evening doesn't have to end when the kids conk out for the night.

"We have just come back and had the most amazing time at Tui Grupotel Majorca Mar in Sa Coma. The accommodation was some of the best I've stayed in, grounds well kept, entertainment excellent, food excellent, directly on the coast."

Our verdict

In Cala Bona on Mallorca’s east coast, the TUI BLUE Grupotel Mallorca Mar is a gorgeous palm tree-studded resort with spacious lawns for kids to kick back in. The outdoor dining terrace makes the most of epic sea views while kids tuck into familiar dishes from the children’s buffet.

Little ones will love the small water park, with its whale and crocodile slides, while the shaded baby pool means even the tiniest travellers can have a paddle, protected from the midday sun.

There’s direct sea access via a jetty (best for confident swimmers) or for shallow waters, Cala Millor beach is a 10-minute bus ride away.

The kids’ clubs run six days a week and there’s plenty of day and night entertainment on offer from the TUI entertainment team including the BlueFIt for Families sessions, which are sure to get the whole family up on their feet. Little ones will love the mini disco each evening, with the chance to meet the loveable TUI mascots Barnse and Captain T.
