Face tinkerers - Profhilo is flippin' brill

I have started many threads over the years about the non-surgical fixes I have had: botox, liquid face lift, threads etc... Anyway, about a year and a half ago I did realise that I was looking a bit done - my honest friend told me and she was right - I thought I was subtle but tweakage is cumulative and before you know it ... well, you know.

I am still very interested in all that shizz so I popped to my clinic and asked if there was anything that would not freeze my face, make me look less knackered but still my age (46) . That's when they recommended Profhilo.
It's a course of two treatments a month apart. 5 injections on each side of the face with pure hyarulonic acid which then spreads across your face and encourages your own collagen and elastin to rebuild.V clever.
I had my first round on Tuesday so expected no results whatsoever but woke up on Saturday with the skin of a baby. It already feels dead plump, pores have disappeared and there is some slight lifting. It's not even supposed to be working yet but I feel I look so much better.

Cannot wait to see full results after two treatments.

It's amazing isn't it? I've had two treatments and it's taken years off! I was having fillers too and like you felt enough was enough. I rarely wear foundation now, the skin looks so fresh! I'm 47 and can't recommend enough.

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 06:48

It's honestly a bloody miracle - never wanted to chase youth, just wanted to look like a non-knackered me.
The nurses at my clinic have stopped everything else and are just using this. They all now have dewy, peach skin - yeah a few wrinkles but lovely, well-nourished plumptious ones befitting their age.

How much is it?

GeorgeIII · 29/07/2018 08:31

It says it starts to break down after 28 days, how long will the effect last do you think?

GeorgeIII · 29/07/2018 08:32

Church pharmacy 2 x 1ml £125
(They advise training but it’s just bolus injections 0.2ml five injection sites, each side of face. Not even cannula).

NocturneGmajor · 29/07/2018 08:35

Mark up is good isn’t it 😀

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 08:59

£500 for two sessions here in York. I honestly cannot stop touching my face - it's so springy.

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 09:04

NocturneGmajor wish I'd gone in to aesthetics but once cut my fringe for free - what a treat I was. I will happily pay the mark up. I do not have a deft hand.

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 09:15

GeorgeIII they told me when it breaks down then your own collagen starts to work and that's when you see results properly and you do need the two a month apart.
I am a ho when it comes to this stuff and really did not expect anything as they said I might see a slight improvement after 4 weeks but would definitely need to wait til round two for full effects. I am seeing and feeling loads of effects suddenly since Tuesday.

Apparently, one treatment every six to ninth months thereafter.AND it only slightly stings.

Looking at my formerly rosacea- raddled ( soolantra finally sorted that) face, I have to say, I look airbrushed. Not even a stealth boast.

The before and after photos look good online as well, don’t they...
Will have to advertise this product and see how it goes.
Blimey I would never equate years of hair dressing skill and training with an afternoon course injecting filler! But I guess it’s what seems commonplace to me, anybody could do it, terrifies other people.
I like the hair analogy though. I have a suspicion that give it 20 years or so, like home hair dye treatments, injectables, especially this profhilo type, which “travels” to the right area, not even placed expertly by the injector, will become DIY.

flickflop · 29/07/2018 09:53

What is this magic? Is it an alternative to fillers?

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 14:30

flickflop it is way better than fillers - you cannot look filled with it - it's not a volumiser. It seems to have lessened my hollow eyes. At this rate I will be throwing out my foundation.

Interested!

Just found these photos on a quick search. Looks good.

macymacy · 29/07/2018 15:10

I was told that the effects can last a year, I paid £540 for two sessions. When you consider what you'd spend on a decent facial once a month, its saving money! That's how I rationalise it to myself anyway 😉
Seriously, it's brilliant.

stopgap · 29/07/2018 15:49

Is this the same as PRP or something else?

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 15:58

Different stopgap. I am honestly already staggered by its effectiveness. Have also booked in to get my neck done. I could not believe how good my aesthetic nurse looks.

On the back of this thread I’m busy googling places that do this - thanks OP!

Gonegrey31 · 29/07/2018 19:23

I agree, I’ve had 2 sessions and I can really see a difference. Was advised to have another one in 6 - 9months. Worth the money ( paid a lot more in the south east) but the before and after photos don’t lie.

emsiboob · 29/07/2018 19:28

I've had it done twice from a nurse in Bolton. I absolutely love it!

emsiboob · 29/07/2018 19:29

Gmajor what do you mean? See how it goes? Think you have to be trained

Truckingonandon · 29/07/2018 20:44

Emsi- who in Bolton and how much was it? I'm close enough to make a trip to Bolton if nurse was good!

NocturneGmajor · 30/07/2018 07:28

Emisboob - Yes I’m trained. By see how it goes I meant I’ll stick some in my own face, advertise it etc. The mark up is good plus by prescribing it for a client I don’t have to pay VAT
