Yawn cake. Charlie woke up and wouldn't settle at 3.30am so I had to go down to him then couldn't get back to sleep. Got up with him just before 7am then came back to bed as ds2 got up. Hope you can settle ds into some later mornings.

Willow am feeling achy for you ☹. Hope you can get a GP appointment, maybe some physio needed?

Well, not a happy house here. DH just getting over a viral thing, DS2 now has it so I am alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen and a flannel on the forehead. He is very feverish; what's the betting I get it once I finish for Xmas? DS1 & he girlfriend reman unaffected at the moment.

I have to pop into work in a bit then off to the hairdresser and the dentist afterwards.

Horse - oh no , hope you dodge that . When DH was working, he was always poorly at Christmas . I think it was a mental thing - he could afford the time.
Selena ooh new glasses -its always a shock when I get some - I have to do a double take when I see myself in a mirror :)

I am off to my craft club at 10 - meeting up at one of houses, (not our normal cafe ). Every one is taking something to go with tea and coffee , so I made some lemon drizzle muffins to take. Could be a feast ...

My BIL is the same book, works crazy hours all year then always ill at Xmas; it's as if he relaxes and bam! the germs get him!!

Our Scandinavian visitor turned away a parcel yesterday as she didn't understand the courier!! Not sure why, as her English language skills are amazing. DH miffed as it's MIL's present! They are sending it again today.

Afternoon all
well, had a lovely morning , was just eating a bit of lunch, when the reminder came up on the phone for the dentist. We had to shoot off. I have ( though I did realise of course) a chipped filling, so need to get that sorted in the New Year ( haven't had a filling since the youngest was born) but otherwise, the nashers are doing me proud .
I have been busy since then. I decided I needed to clean the oven . I did a very thorough job of the fridge on Monday, so it only seemed right. The whole shebang - everything taken out , shelves, runners, glass doors , the lot. The bulb has gone in the main oven, so have done that too ( well, ordered a new bulb anyway .and cleaned the housing too....) Then decided the floor needing doing properly too, so that has had a proper scrub.
I can sit down now - have prepped up tea - (just jacket potatoes and cauliflower cheese with some bacon bits in.)
And I have some spare lemon drizzle muffins - I brought 4 back from this morning - DH is secretly pleased, while grumbling about having to force them down
Relaxing night with some crochet and a bath I think!

Strangely, I always get an uncontrollable urge to clean my oven before I cook the Xmas dinner in it!

This year, we are eating at the in-laws, so my oven will have to wait until my NY resolutions kick in

Evening
Saw GP and got tubegrip for my knee and painkillers. Also exercises to do. Got fluid build up in the joint causing the swelling .
Attacked bathroom, also did shelves and cupboard. All tidy and clean now and bleached the floor although it never looks clean!
Last day of school yipppeeee.
At TKD for next hour listening to radio in peace.
Ds1 stayed home he was panicking about the school cèilidh as he thought they had to attend and were forced to dance bless him. He did tidy and hoover and dust thier room though. Its a Xmas miracle 😀
Glad dentist went ok Book i have the weakest teeth ever slightest thing breaks them i have more fillings than teeth now i think. Kids thankfully take after thier dad in that dept.
Hope you got your parcel back Horse what a strange thing to do. Didn't it have your name on it?

We had a great day though I was really irritated this morning. Now we're officially on holiday. Seeing FC tomorrow and going to brave Tesco for food! Wish me luck.

Yum drizzle cake - although I can now recommend the Aldi chocolate fudge cake with orange (although it falls apart when you cut and serve it do maybe only amongst friends!).

Hope the tube thing and exercises do some good Willow. My friend is a physio and whenever I do the exercises she recommends for things it always improves the situation.

Good day today, ds2 had a friend over so they played with Charlie while I got the floors vacuumed (he didn't like that), brushed and mopped (mopping used to be a very infrequent job - bit different with a puppy and wet weather). Ds1 went to see his girlfriend for the afternoon and my parents picked him up on the way over. Enjoyable evening with parents, brother and boys.

Got back from dropping ds1 earlier and there was an ENORMOUS rat 🐀 perched on the hens water trough drinking their water. Then saw it eating their food. Dad has brought me some bait over and say a I should call environmental health as it's coming from the unoccupied property next door.

Work tomorrow but have had confirmation from my last few clients that accounts are okay to file so will get those sorted tomorrow then I'm done for the year ☺

Horse - yes , come Christmas I do like a clean oven ( I do clean it at other times, honest!)
Willow - poor knee , I think that means over Christmas you get to lay out on the sofa :) . DH has iffy teeth too - he always seems to need work on them, always has bother
Chasing - good to hear you had a lovely day. Rats and chicken food go together, sadly. Easy food for them I suppose yuk. How are the chickens doing , are they all bunked in together now, and no escapees?
Cake - hope you are in proper holiday mode, and got a lie- in :)
I hav ea haircut due this morning, and trying to decide whether to go and shop for all the fresh stuff for the next few days or wait until tomorrow , when I pick my meat up ... mmm

We did have a lie in until 6:30 Means he had 11hrs and I got 8!

Been into town to see FC, had a coffee and a snack meal and a run around in the park. Then I braved Tesco with the thought of just getting the normal stuff but everything was fairly long dates, so got everything bar the meat which is coming from the butchers and a panetonne. Was heaving but not too bad in all honesty.

Now I need to collect DD and a few presents on Saturday morning and wrap them - that's it!

The two new ones I got in September are both laying most days, none of the others are. The new Brown one who was being picked on has got a bit braver since she reached maturity and came into lay, although she still sleeps in the tree.

Been at work today, and now finished, so have only addressed the rat problem by putting their food in the wheelbarrow so it's off the ground and putting a plank of wood against where it is coming under the fence. I'll see what else I can do tomorrow and get the bait down.

Ds1 at archery tonight and I'll hopefully catch up with replying to everyone's ones then.

He is too cute Squirrel and such a lovely colour. I'd have thought all activities have finished for the year!?! Is he enjoying his own bow (or am I just making that up now) How are you doing?

Lol Selena - the safety was more for the hens than Charlie! He has been in with them but wants to play whereas they think he is a thread and so flap away from him. He was herding them earlier.

Almost a lie in Cake, fingers crossed for tomorrow. Sounds like you had a good day. He is enjoying the bow (the fully given how much it cost!). Club is just an adult club not school / child based so goes year round.

This afternoon the man turned up to service water heater and gas fire , central heating was done the other week. Just meat to get tomorrow, stuffing to make and I am < fingers crossed> sorted , apart from going and picking vegetables at the allotment :)

Evening all.
Got home at 10 and have been relubing my youth watching Donny & Marie show. Loved that when they had the original show back when god was a boy😉 boy they still put on a great show marie looks fanbloodytastic for 50. (When they did the show) not jealous at all.
Had great day. Out for lunch although wasnt impressed with mine it was find the meat in the beef casserole😀
Ate all sorts of sweet stuff at aunts, pavlova, tray bake etc. And brought some home! Got recipie for ginger tray bake its lovely.
Glad everyone had a nice day. I need to face the shopping tomorrow.

I found out i am working sunday until 2ish...i know what that means as its usually busy till 2.30 and i expect a lot of people will not have read the closing times so i expect a later finish.
Aches and pains not as bad today thanks, knee support makes a big difference i really notice the difference when i take it off at night. Got 2 more days for knee to de-swell before work does its stuff to my old back again😀😀😀

Willow - good to hear that the knee is being helped with the tubigrip - hope it holds out for Sunday
Very grey and pretty misty here. Went to the allotment to get a few bits of veg, and make sure I have enough to pick on Sunday. Then I went and stood in the meat queue - not too bad actually! . Just had a bite to eat, then off for a shower. Baking this afternoon , and making the stuffing. May squeeze in a bit of crochet - I'm finishing a WH blanket that is spread over the spare bed, which will be needed on Christmas night ...

Was quite 'foggy' - dense mist to those of us who know what real fog is like! Night driving glasses really helped as make day lighter and somehow clearer.

Met friend for breakfast, then into Aldi for milk, ice cream and biscuits double. Now home for peaceful afternoon with Classic fm, hot chocolate and purring cats - biscuits? No, of course not !!

Had very long lie first in ages.
Food shopping done. Last bits done.
Ds1 pia. Not coming to panto. Let him stay up late gaming with friend as i was up too but apparently unreasonable to expect him to get off whan told! Kept phone off him today and thats unreasonable too😀 apparentlybdidnt switcg pc of properly last night and hascobviously been om it while we were out. I will swing for him one of these days.
Seriously thinking of cancelling xmas for him.
Been back on the 'teenager' thread just to remimd myself its not just me😀
Had coffee and choc orange cheesecake with ds2 in town. Very busy but could have been worse.
Got a witshire gammon with crackling for xmas dinner so that's sorted.
