Afternoon
all sort of okay . Rang friend, and she is having a cataract op next week, so we decided best safe than sorry .
DGS is just in the process of all the spots popping out, but not itchy yet -that will be fun.
Instead I have had a fun morning speaking to HMRC Hmm - I never, ever had any problems when running my business,. But since I retired I have had nothing but problems. Hopefully I have finally sorted it out - well she assured me anyway ......
Next fun job - ironing , then off to walk to shops and post office . I suppose I now have more time to crochet :)

Willow2017 · 05/03/2018 13:00

Stock up on calomine lotion Book my eldest was covered in it when he had CP youngest wasn't so bad😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/03/2018 13:33

I've just squeezed in half an hour Wink Hope he doesn't get too itchy. There was a specific CP gel when DS had it. Can't remember the name though.

Well I hope he keeps it up Willow I'm trying to have more healthy stuff too, but I'm tired and grotty, so really could just do with hitting the biscuits/cake.

See you all tonight x

Horsemad · 05/03/2018 17:43

I could just murder a piece of cake!

Work is a bit crazy again - so many unhappy people there Sad

Hope your DGS isn't too spotty book! Your DS sounds motivated Willow fingers crossed it continues Wink
Hope your Dr appt went well also.

Right, off to stick something in the oven!

Chasingsquirrels · 05/03/2018 18:10

Hope doctors appointment was helpful Willow.
Poor dgs book, hope he doesn't suffer too much with it.
Has the flood drained away 84?
Sorry to hear work isn't good again horse x

I didn't go into work today, just totally worn out still and didn't move much from the sofa. House is a mess but I haven't got the energy to do anything about it.

OP posts:
84CharingCrossRoad · 05/03/2018 19:17

Flood has all gone. Two men in hi viz jackets came with a big noisy machine and a long pipe and drained it all away. I fluttered my eye lashes at them and they drained our drive as well.
When Wilf had chickenpox he inadvertently gave Grandad Tom shingles.....
Blush Nanna Freda banished us from their bungalow for three weeks!!!!
Wilf is off to Crufts with a friend on Saturday and is very excited!!!!

Willow2017 · 05/03/2018 19:18

Evening all.

Squirrels the house can wait, it wont come to any harm. Just be good to yourself.

Horse shame about work, it affects everything doesnt it?

No meals at high school today! NO deliveries on time today. Poor ds was glad he had porridge to keep him going. Schools open properly tomorrow although buses only going along main roads as some of the B roads (as I discovered going to GP's) are still just a narrow track through mountains of snow. The snow looks very surreal, all striated like rock or flowing curves.

Appointment was good. GP really none the wiser from Haemo letter as it didnt say what could have caused the ITP. My platelets were 43 so very slightly lower but fine. But we will see what he says at the end of the month. She said they didnt used to worry until your platelets were below 10!!! She is glad that they have increased it to 30, even though its not a lot. Obviously I dont want to take steroids unless I really need to so keep everything crossed. Xrays were all basically fine, start of osteo arthritis in knee, spine fine small narrowing of disc space but nothing to worry about so thats good. She is sending me for a scan about my abdo pain though. Its still hanging around in the background some days worse than others. Maybe a problem with ye old knackered ovaries but will have to see. She is going to try to get it the same day as my haemo appointment, fingers crossed. Got a tray home to pee in Grin so she can check for other stuff too. And she was happy to dip a specimen from ds1 (if I had remembered it!) Will take both tomorrow doh!

DS2 and I made bread (out of a packet just to try it) and its not perfect but tastes fine (we have all had some already!)

Mince and tatties for tea, dishes done just checking if by some miracle we can get TWD on Now tv tonight instead of tormorrow..oh pooh! Sad

Snow is melting, we can see the pavements, well most of them!

Willow2017 · 05/03/2018 19:18

Oops where did that NO come from, just mean No, not 'shouting'!

Horsemad · 05/03/2018 19:55

We've had chicken, pot croqs & salad followed by lemon cheesecake (M&S Blush)

I am full now!

Glad the Dr appt was ok, hope the scan can be arranged for same date as the other one - will save repeat journey.

chasing, this cold/virus thing has wiped you out hasn't it? Just rest up and get well soon. Nobody will care whether you've done your house jobs! Cuddle up with lovely Charlie Smile

Glad to hear the private lake outside your house has been dealt with 84 Grin Sounds a right pita. Bet Wilf will have a great time at Crufts, keep saying I'm going to go, I'd love it! 🐕 🐕 🐕🐕 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

Willow2017 · 05/03/2018 20:00

Forgot to say, the new monitor for ds1's pc arrived late afternoon....it doesnt work either, half the screen is purple! Grrrrrr

Oooh lemon cheescake, any left Horse?

Horsemad · 05/03/2018 20:19

Oh that's annoying Willow Angry poor DS - bet he's fed up? Do you know when you will get a replacement?

Sorry, no cheesecake left Blush was left over from the weekend. Love lemon desserts, my fave!

Willow2017 · 05/03/2018 20:48

Will email tomorrow morning, my head is mince tonight! Too much to think about, got to take kids to school tomorrow then backwards for gp drop off, then on for shopping. Been sorting out ds2's school bag too and his geometry set is broken (why dont they ever tell you??) so need to add that to the list, plus hirthday card and decs for ds2. Need to make vet appoint for Gps check up. And of course, work.
Cant wait for Easter Hols and no rushing around, no work for a whole week. Havent even mustered up the energy to look for something to do while we are off, put that on the 'list' Grin

I do love lemony things. DS1 and I have been known to eat lemons like oranges on occaision Grin

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/03/2018 20:59

Well hello all

I'm going to try and write a sensible post pretending that any of what I've read has gone into my brain it hasn't

Willow I'm glad there's progress, even if not with DS's monitor - ridiculous!

Squirrels I hope that a day or two at home does the trick. Set the boys to work - it will do them good Wink

84 I'm pleased to hear that they came and sorted the flood and hope they sort it properly.

I had a little trifle this evening - only because I don't drink!

horse it is the pits to work somewhere when morale is low.

Hope you're OK Selena and will come and read again in the morning with a hopefully refreshed brain! Hmm

Horsemad · 06/03/2018 06:16

Good grief, been awake since 04.20!!!

Woke up with stomach pain (gone now) then a cat was wowing outside my bedroom window...

Gave up trying to sleep and got up at 05.30.

Happy Days! Will need a few coffees today I think Hmm

MrsJonesAndMe · 06/03/2018 06:25

Oh no! That is a rubbish start to the day. Are you at work today? Power nap at lunch time Grin

Horsemad · 06/03/2018 06:30

Yep, will be at work in about an hour! I have 2 meetings as well, so hope I can stay awake Grin

Willow2017 · 06/03/2018 07:41

Aww thats a rotten start to day Horse hope your meetings are short and sweet.
Its bucketing rain here couldnt rain harder. Not condusive to my plans at all.

Willow2017 · 06/03/2018 09:28

Well that was a fun journey😀 roads totally flooded in places i am building a boat! Made it though so having coffee, muffin and read (still no almond croissants grrr) before shopping.
Hope your roads are better where you are.

SelenaValentina · 06/03/2018 09:57

Poor you, Horse, hope constant coffee works its magic.
Willow - no almond croissants after your harrowing journeys? Heads should roll.
Squirrel - look after yourself well. The house won't fall down, your wellbeing is priority.
book - you've no doubt got everyone/everything organised and working well?
84 - well done you, you've no doubt logged it and will be passing concerns on?

I've decided to give up Monday shifts after Easter. I'll still do Saturdays (when fits in) and the Path Lab Runs on most Tuesdays. I'm just off there now - last week main oncologist on leave so 'only' did 6 miles.

Have a good day everyone - grey and dampish here. We're nearly on the 1000 posts!!

bookbook · 06/03/2018 10:34

Morning all!
Don't quite know where yesterday went ( well, I do I got a bee in my bonnet to get some sewing done, and that takes over my brain completely!)
Rainy and damp, and rather warm here today .
Chasing - you need to recuperate at least as long as you were poorly - don't fret about housework ( was it Quentin Crisp who said if you don't dust for 7 years, it doesn't get any thicker after that? Grin )
84 - good that all is clear - and Wilf off to Crufts? wow !
Willow - the rain is almost worst - be careful won't you - aquaplaning is a bit frightening - happened to me once . I would put in a complaint about no almond croissant - you need it . I take it the computer screen will be replaced, but what a pain.
Horse - horrible start to the day - I hope the stomach pains are normal, and not stress related to going to work - it is sounding rough for you. Hope the day is gentle for you
MrsJ - hope all is okay
Selena - I think you are wise to finish by sounds , as you are not enjoying that bit much are you, and if you can't enjoy it when volunteering, its a bit pants .
Well, organisation wise I'm actually looking at a dining table covered in sewing bits atm - it seemed mad to put it all away last night, when I was going to be carrying on today . I just want to get a couple of things sorted this morning and then I shall be at the sewing machine like a madman Grin Other than that its an easy day, a walk to the market , tea to prep and some washing to put in , but may leave that for another day, a it's too damp to dry outside .
Have a good day all - is someone starting up a new thread ?

Willow2017 · 06/03/2018 11:31

Shopping done, just to put away which is worse.
Interesting drive home. Main A1 clear just some water at side of road. Tootling along not fast but passing lorries on d/c then with no warning signs and there in frint of me road completely flooded!. Car behind me...so i went sailing through being deluged by lorry beside me, raining and cascades of water either side😁😁😁 i found swearing profusely kept me straight on and out the other side😀😀😀 rain been a bit sleety and apparently its snowing in edinburgh again! Noooo they can keep it.

Selena you are right to stop mondays. Its voluntary and if they are making it unpleasant then thats their fault and thier loss.

Book busy and organised as usual get up here pdq😀

JaneJeffer · 06/03/2018 12:27

Hello ladies, hope you are all keeping well.

I'm still waiting for things to get back to normal here. Something seems to happen every week to put us all off course, illness, snow days, or funerals.

Willow I just burst out laughing at the image of you in your car swearing in the middle of a deluge Grin

bookbook · 06/03/2018 12:48
