You're all so clever with brilliant cakes and traybakes. I used to bake/cook but then realised too tempting and as I was way overweight did myself and DH a favour and stopped.

All well here, been for Christmas Eve/Sunday therapy mooch, and whilst one bloke was moaning it was like a jungle, didn't seem too bad to me. I raided Lidl's marzipan stocks whilst I was in as not sure when will be back!

I've remembered to take turkey and bacon cheese thingies out of freezer . Going across to neighbour's soon for coffee and mince pie (he's a retired baker so does all his own).

Afternoon all.
Work steady so not so bad. No time for extended cleaning apart from a couple of doors😉

Finished half hour late so not too bad. Came home to wrap last pressies and have a coffee before i go for kids. Ex can keep them a bit longer😉
Traybake went down well and tkd colleague is taking the rest home.
Looks like i am off until after new year as open short hours and not busy. Yeah.

What a shame about your mil Squirrels hope she is recovered pdq. Good idea re film just do whatever suits you you can always change your mind if you decide ro do something different.

Book those decs were used when i was a child so they really are ancient😀

Selena home made mince pies are the best. Havent had time to do any yet. Youve reminded me to rake stuff out freezer too. Thanks would have been ww3 if there were no pigs in blankets 😀

We are now home, the shops are shut and I can do no more (thank God!).

Woken by ds2 at 7!!! Then they both came in to open thier stockings. Didnt sleep much last night so have had snooze was having weird but lovely dream when ex phoned and woke me arghhh 😀 all presents opened and approved vehnemately 😀
Might have some brekke now, kids have had thiers (plus chocolate😉)

Christmas didn't start here until 11.30 when we finally prised the older two out of bed - they'd been in the pub with their mates last night & got to bed late. DS2 is currently having a nap on the sofa. I'll wave a buck's fizz under his nose in a bit to wake him up in time to help with dinner, which we're having this evening.

Total non problem I know, but we've had a bit of a mishap with the starter. DS1 made a really lovely soup yesterday evening & put it in the conservatory overnight as there's no room in the fridge. Unfortunately he covered it with cling film instead of a solid lid & left it on the floor, and this morning we discovered half of it was gone - the dogs had found it during the night & helped themselves. We've decided to see the funny side

I too have been thinking of Juan - it must be so hard - and for you Chasing and Selena . Its a different country to what you are used to , or wanted . ((hugs)) all round .
Have had a very, very relaxing time. A mad couple of hours at DD's while DGS was trying to play with everything at once, and not succeeding. We have left all our present opening until tomorrow, after our trip to the beach. Its like another 'mini' Christmas Day for DD2 , who is at her 'in laws', with just her, her partner, and his parents .
Have had a lovely walk this afternoon and just prepped up for our meal tonight, and all the 'bung in the oven' veg for tomorrow. (DH even managed not to slice his finger off when doing the potatoes with the mandolin- thats a win this year .....) . Just about to open some wine .
Drama - thats what Christmas is all about - laughing over disasters that actually really don't matter ( just a shame the dogs enjoyed it, instead of you!)

Had lovely day, DS's partner cooked and DS and I chipped in when needed . Drama - one of the cats whipped a roast potato, I found it in the bathroom?!?

We were watching Saving Mr Banks on BluRay and just at the revelation/sad bit, DSD phoned. Not heard from her for ages, despite me texting/cards etc. so I was a bit . Turns out she's had suspicious vaginal lump and been in and out of hospital since October. All clear thankfully but she's now popped a vein in her leg trying to get fitter. Sounded as though she'd had bit of breakdown too, as she said she just couldn't tell anyone, hardly surprising.

Let's hope 2018 makes up for all this?

We had a long but mostly lovely day. Sad that my parents are so far away and Mil can't seem to be bothered to come see us, nor buy presents (sent money)...but obviously overall a day for counting blessings.

Chasing, been meaning to say, Charlie is adorable. Such a cutie.

I've had a nice nap and have just had solpadeine and a nice brew. Go me! I've been coming down with a bug all week & it's just caught up with me, hence the dosing.

DH & the boys are playing cards noisily at the kitchen table. I might join in later.

I've just had an email from Juan, they've had a tough & tearful day remembering last Christmas and the year they've just been through. She can't quite manage to come back to the thread, but she knows it's here when she's ready.
