Morning all!
Only me up ( what a surprise ! ) so I have had a quiet hour for breakfast. Need to get a move on before everyone gets up and hogs the kitchen space,. I want it so everything is ready for us getting home this afternoon . ( I am a one for early prepping - had anyone noticed? Grin )
Lovely to hear from you magi and Jane .
Hope everyone has a restful and lovely Boxing Day .

Willow2017 · 26/12/2017 11:52

Lazy morning had long lie catching up on sleep and sitting having cuppa.
Ds2 had stomach pains and sick as a dog last night hope not a bug. He actually didnt eat too much all day we were pretty restrained so couldnt be that? Seems better today fingers crossed.

Sorry you have had a bad end of year Magi hope it gets better soon.

Book we wouldnt expect anything less of you than to be prepping early on boxing day.😀😀 i need to tidy up kitchen and living room, its not bad just a quick clean up. Of course i need to persuade myself to go get dressed first😉

Sun is out and finally stopped raining. Wettest xmas day ever i think! Not very festive.

HoHoHorsemad · 26/12/2017 13:29

Waves to everyone. Very lazy morning here, nobody surfaced 'til gone 11! We've had a leisurely brunch and now just waiting for the neverending queue for the bathroom to subside...

I am going to force people out for a walk soon, it's cool but sunny so shouldn't be too arduous. Then off to the outlaws for tea Xmas Wink

Hope everyone's having a nice relaxing day. Sorry to hear you've had trials & tribulations, Magi.

Drama, the dogs clearly have good taste - homemade soup, yum! Xmas Grin

SelenaValentina · 26/12/2017 13:37

Hello again Magi, sorry been grim for you.

I got up late and opened curtains to a beautiful rainbow. Let's hope that means the portents are good for us all. Star Star Star

Wandered into the 'village' and found Booth's open, including cafe, so enjoyed coffee.

DSD and family on their way, could get emotional. DSS coming tomorrow afternoon, crikey, what a busy week! Good job I bought the biscuits. Grin

NotAChristmasCakePop · 26/12/2017 16:37

Hello

Hope you all had a great day and that DS2 is better Willow

I hope it's a good sign for us all Selena Hope that you and DSD reconnected.

Squirrel I hope that you enjoyed having the boys back and seeing your parents. Hope you're feeling a bit better now another of the "firsts" are out of the way.

book I got yarn and a hook so will need to be brave and give it all a try! Was too tired last night so maybe tomorrow Wink

Going into town tomorrow. Children have some money burning a hole and need some clothes too.

HoHoHorsemad · 27/12/2017 08:20

Weather is horrible today; rain and wind. This is not helping my resolve in my mission to walk more! Had a Fitbit for Xmas and am determined to get more steps in but I'll just have 5mins more in bed first... Xmas Grin

Hope the weather's better for everyone else.

What a horrible day.
Charlie just sat on the doorstep and looked at me in disgust when I tried to take him out this morning.
Was going to tidy up the back garden a bit today - but not in this weather.

I had a lovely Christmas yesterday with my boys, parents, brother and uncle.

OP posts:
HoHoHorsemad · 27/12/2017 09:05

It's a day for staying in, turning the heating up and watching TV/playing games here.

Everyone still in bed at the moment.

Willow2017 · 27/12/2017 12:23

Hi all.
Bit of up and down day yesterday but survived😀 damm xbox is playing up cue emotional and freaking out ds1 who doesnt handle emotions at all well. All sorted but think might take it in to local game shop if we cant fix it properly.
Talked to my aunt and kids gd on phone.
Sat and read my book.
Ds2 still not 100% and didnt eat much ds1 lazed in bed then had sarnie so i didnt even have to cook😀
Woke up at 2am! Awake for about an hour and it was raining again but at least it melted the frost😀
Sunny today but chilly. Was going to go into town just to get out house but ds2 still looks like a ghost so probably won't.

Squirrels sounds lovely, nice to have your boys back and family time. (Although yesterday i may have disagreed with that at one point😉)

bookbook · 27/12/2017 13:09

Afternoon all!

  • everyone has left . An early start with DGS this morning, but a leisurely breakfast none the less. We had a fabulous time yesterday. Not quite as much walking on the beach for me - I stayed with DD1 whose foot hasn't completely healed, so she can't walk far , but it was glorious, sun out and not too cold . Today is tidy up, slump and a bit of crafting - we have enough food not to need to cook for days Grin Selena . It sounds a lot like DSD didn't want to worry anyone, so it shows she trusts you enough to come . Hope it all goes well today, probably very emotionally draining . Chasing - good to hear you had a lovely day - it was pouring overnight/this morning, so not surprised at Charlie! Horse -it has cleared up here, sun is out , honest!
Willow - hope DS2 is okay , sounds like you got through it all with grace and humour as usual:) Cake - a bit of quiet time, and the Bella Coco video - good luck! We are just getting sorted for our holiday. We printed off the boarding tickets on Sunday, now I need to make lists of what needs packing /sorting . Off in four weeks.! Have a lovely day all
Chasingsquirrels · 27/12/2017 13:17

Lazy day Willow - hope you get the tech sorted.

Oh holiday book have I missed where you are off to?

My parents got Ds2 a 3d printing pen and he is busy making keyings and shapes.

All went really well with DSD yesterday, thanks everyone for the support. She's been horribly frightened, having lost both her dad and mum from cancer in the last 4 years. Although only 47 she's demanded/persuaded her GP to organise a mammogram. Apparently 2 close relatives to have had breast ca before they test early. She pointed out both her parents only children, her mum was diagnosed at 52, DH's cousin died aged ---- 47, so it was reluctantly agreed.

DSS coming this afternoon.

Hate to say it everyone, but it's a lovely, sunny day at the moment. Wind cold and barometer right down.

book - can we all come?

Willow2017 · 27/12/2017 13:37

Book did I miss something or have you kept hols quiet? Where are you off to?
Just txt tkd to say ds2 wont be going tonight. Saves me sitting in car for an hour i suppose😀

NotAChristmasCakePop · 27/12/2017 14:38

Hi all

I'm glad the day went well Selena and Squirrel

book where are you off to? Something to look forward to in the dark and dreary January.

Hope that you enjoy the peace willow but that DS perks up.

We've braved the shops and then came home for lunch, played some games and now just watching a movie.

MIL has apparently had D&V so think we can safely say the visit is off completely now.

bookbook · 27/12/2017 15:13

Coffee time - sat sewing up trouser hems- boring job...
Chasing - is that snow , or just a lot of water? Its actually sunny here, just like Selena , but rather breezy, which is making it cold ( only run out to feed the birds...)
Willow - I think its right to cancel, hope you get the chance to sit and read your book at home in comfort and peace :)
Cake - does that sound like a sigh of relief there about MIL not coming?
I am very lucky re holiday - its to Tenerife for 3 weeks, in the coldest part of the year :)

Chasingsquirrels · 27/12/2017 15:45

Glad it went well with DSD Selena, what a horrible time for her.

It's snow book, the boys made a snowman. It's stopped and all melting now. 3 weeks in Teneife, how lovely.

Sounds like a good day cake.

Good idea to cancel willow

OP posts:
NotAChristmasCakePop · 27/12/2017 15:50

She said she would come up after Christmas day, then changed to some point before the 3rd (we are back to work on 2nd) and now probably not at all. DD goes to her dad on the 30th and MIL and DD hasn't seen each other since August when we were up there (nor has she seen DS her blood GS)

Willow2017 · 27/12/2017 17:14

Oh that sounds like a plan Book. No more wind and rain for 3 weeks lucky you😀

Ds2 in my bed he still isnt right. Had breakfast but nothing more.

Done nothing all day except watch tv or read my book (and the pile of dishes that keep appearing most of which arent mine😉)
Ds1 spent day upstairs on xbox with his mates online so no arguments today😀 although he is now complaining ds2 has his phone with him and him using internet is affecting his game. Bless him how awful 🤔
Cant even watch my new dvd as promised ds2 we would watch it together.

Cake i suspect apart from her lack of concern for her grandkids you will be glad to miss mil.

Selena glad things are ok and day went well for dsd. Must have been very stressful for her.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 27/12/2017 17:28

The visit may be back on for Friday but why can't they just ring each other and confirm things like is it just her or DN and possibly GF too and day or staying over. This is the day after tomorrow after all ffs

Coco and crochet here I come!

bookbook · 27/12/2017 23:26

Just popping in to say goodnight, sleep well all.
What a faff Cake !
poor DS2 Willow - hope he feels better soon
Chasing - wow snow - (I think ours is due Friday, which has put a day out already organised on the back burner. Ah well ...)
Thoughts and Prayers

NotAChristmasCakePop · 28/12/2017 13:49

Afternoon, well DH tried to ring her this morning and got no answer... I've baked some brownies which could be enjoyed with tea/coffee or could be pudding with ice cream. Guess we'll see what happens hey?

We're taking the children to trampoline park first thing as it's meant to rain all day and they need to do something.

Sorry to hear your plans may have to be cancelled book annoying when that happens!

Hope everyone else is OK x

bookbook · 28/12/2017 15:42

Afternoon all!
A bit nithering here :)
I did manage an hour at my allotment this morning though - did me the world of good after being indoors for too many days. Managed washing ( and drying outside!!!!!!) and ironing too.
DH has just gone to the dentist - new filling fell out yesterday - so I am just trying to decide what will be the best meal for when you have had the numbing injection - think it may well be soup !

Chasingsquirrels · 28/12/2017 16:34

Hope you get an answer one way or the other soon cake I find it most annoying not knowing.

Soup might be a bit dribbly book?

Took ds1 to the archery frostbite this morning. "Frostbite" being very appropriate. Cold but enjoyable.
Then soup for lunch and dropped ds1 in next village to see his girlfriend and went into town with ds2 as I needed a present for my aunt who we are seeing tomorrow. Got her a nice necklace in the M&S sale and a pair of jeans for me (unfortunately not in the sale). Ds2 put the Christmas money my dad gave him into his bank account and we got a ball for Charlie that you put treats in - I'm not sure if he has figured out that where they are coming from when they suddenly appear on the floor though!

Texted a few people yesterday to say thank you for Christmas cards (I didn't get round to it) and a friend up the road asked if we wanted to pop round for a catch up - I asked her here (cos of Charlie) and we had a good couple of hours playing cards with the boys and her son who is a good friend of ds2.

I got ds1 the Mission Impossible 1-4 box set for Christmas having watched 5 with them a few weeks ago so we might make a start on that tonight.

How is ds2 doing Willow?

Hope medi, Jane, Juan & Selena are all okay.
And waves to horse & drama.
