Sorry for the lack of a witty title, but people were posting really fast and we only had 4 posts left!

@fluffy I'll check that lube out, thanks! Also how often did you go for acupuncture? Is it once a month kinda thing? And do you have to find someone who specialises in fertility or is it straight forward for them? I'm going to have a look around the weekend and definitely go.

Thanks @satsoooma for creating the new thread

YouBoggleMyMind Thu 23-Mar-17 17:13:58

Here ladies! I'm getting knocked up on this thread, just you watch! (Totes said that on each of the 4 threads before this...)

satsoooma Thu 23-Mar-17 17:16:18

I should have called it: "PCOS support thread: the one where Boggle gets knocked up" wink

SLady Thu 23-Mar-17 17:37:11

Fingers crossed for lots of BFP's on this thread star

That all makes sense satsooma...sounds like you've got a good clear plan going forward.

Thanks for the recommendations. I do get dry too but have always been too scared to try incase they do kill off the little baby makers. Will definitely check these out.

Do you recommend acupuncture fluffy? Do you think it made a difference? I always thought acupuncture, homeopathy, reflexology and all that were all meant to be mumbo-jumbo!?

SLady Thu 23-Mar-17 18:06:25

Oh and elizabeth your BMI is same as mine - seems everything in books/internet says cut out sugar, insulin levels blah blah and exercise lots and then to you saying cut down on exercise and put on weight. Can we ever win?!

FluffyEwok Thu 23-Mar-17 18:20:16

Not sure re it being rubbish. My accupuncturist was an ex nurse and really down to earth. I just went about once a month around ov time. I climbed up on the kitchen surface today and fellconfused

FluffyEwok Thu 23-Mar-17 18:21:12

Slady i have a bmi of 21 always been slim and i take metformin but dont follow the diet

YouBoggleMyMind Thu 23-Mar-17 18:25:59

Fluffy why are you climbing??? Are you ok?

FluffyEwok Thu 23-Mar-17 18:35:07

Im an idiot. Im fine hopefully i havent done something. I landed on my side.

ElizabethCatherine Thu 23-Mar-17 19:42:04

@Slady my gyn today said reflexology doesn't have anything scientifically proven so it's nice to just help you relax. It she said there is evidence etc to back up acupuncture. I'm going to def give it a go and sack in my reflexology appointments I went for 2 and they were really relaxing, helped calm me down that's for sure, just like a massage really.

@fluffy be careful, take it easy and no more climbing!

GreenEyedGirl01 Thu 23-Mar-17 20:44:12

Hi ladies, can I join?

I came off the pill in Nov 2015 and haven't had a natural cycle since. After lots of good tests, scans, and a HyCoSy, I'm just about to start provera so I can take my first round of clomid. My BMI is 29 so have been advised to try and bring that down, but my doctor was happy to start me on 50mg of clomid in the meantime.

I wasn't offered any monitoring scans, but was told to have day 21 and 28 blood tests to see if the dosage is having the desired effect.

I have a quick question - is it worth using opks, or does the clomid mess with hormones too much to make them worthwhile?!

Thank you in advance!

Goldensunnydays81 Thu 23-Mar-17 20:51:19

Can I come and join you! I have got to wait til July though before i start trying again as I had cervical cancer and had my cervix removed in October so as well as the PCOS I have got that to deal with too!

AmyC86 Thu 23-Mar-17 22:01:18

Welcome ladies xx

green I wouldn't bother with the opks to begin with, they're a pain in the arse tbh lol

Ladies, I have my next scan booked, 30th March fingers crossed xx

Huge best of luck to you boggle both me and you WILL get knocked up this cycle and have Christmas babes

ElizabethCatherine Thu 23-Mar-17 22:02:29

Welcome @goldensunnydays - I am sorry to hear. We are here for support ❤ and @greeneyed girl - some of the ladies on here are around your stage I am not there just yet so not sure about the testing

Barsons83 Thu 23-Mar-17 22:02:38

Thanks for creating the new thread satsooma. Fingers crossed we all get pregnant on this thread.

I'm 34 on Sat - didn't think that I would not have children at this age

satsoooma Fri 24-Mar-17 09:13:42

Hi Golden and Green.

Green, Clomid does not mess with OPKs, if anything it makes them a bit easier to use, as if clomid gets you ovulating you will probably get a more regular cycle and clearer LH peak.

I have a question for anyone who has had a HyCoSy or similar. I know that you have to use contraception before the test, but is it OK to TTC after the test? I was thinking of booking it for CD10-12, as I don't ovulate until CD16-18. That way I don't have to take a cycle out. Mentally, I would find it really hard to take a month out.

satsoooma Fri 24-Mar-17 09:58:49

OK, never mind I already managed to sort the HyCoSy scan. They said it is fine to TTC after the scan, just not before.

It is booked for CD12 of my next cycle (love how well I can predict my cycle lengths, now that I am on Clomid). They only do the scans once a week, so I am really lucky that they had the exact day I wanted free at such short notice.

I just really hope I get a BFP next week so that I can cancel the scan. I find smear tests, and the clomid ultrasounds super painful, I am just terrified of getting the HyCoSy sad.

SLady Fri 24-Mar-17 10:49:03

Hey newbies!

I'm sure summer can reassure you satsooma. She had one not so long ago. You'll be okay and just think once you have that done then you know there's nothing holding you back from a BFP it'll just be a case of playing the probabilities game! I've heard even if they aren't severely blocked it can help flush them out and get things moving. I'm going to ask my consultant about having one before I start treatment. I didnt even really feel my internal ultrasound blush I find it more uncomfortable having a full bladder. It definitely helps with the pain if you're relaxed, try not to work yourself up too much, just got to think of the end goal flowers

Barsons83 Fri 24-Mar-17 11:06:02

Hi ladies,
Is the HyCoSy the same as the hsg? I had the hsg and it was a bit painful but no too bad.

Consultant just phoned me back. Apparently I don't need to be scanned even tho clomid caused a cyst. I can just keep on taking it. Found out that next step for us is IVF so will be discussing that at our next apt in May

YouBoggleMyMind Fri 24-Mar-17 11:08:40

Hi ladies, had my scan and DH was able to come too which is great. I've got a good lining (7. something) and 1 lead follicle at 14.6mm. Really pleased and now we can go away and enjoy our holiday smile

AmyC86 Fri 24-Mar-17 11:15:24

Ooh!!! Lots of DTD for you while you're away!!

By textbook, you should ovulate between Wednesday - Sunday of next week!!!!!

SummerHopin Fri 24-Mar-17 11:29:49

Hi everyone, just putting my mark down on the new thread - thanks Satsooma.

Re. lube, I also started using Preseed as was told it was fertility friendly. It comes with some random syringe looking things which I just threw out tbh, not heard of the other one but they will say if they are baby friendly I think.

Satsooma dont worry about a HyCoSy, it was over and done with so quickly and didnt hurt it was just an odd sensation with the fluid goes in. I think if there is a blockage or a reason why your tubes arent open it can be sore as they push the fluid through, but if thats the case then its a good thing because it will then open them up for all those eggs to be free to come to the party!

You are also fine to ttc straight after the scan. I had a tummy pain the evening of the day of the scan then was right as rain the next day - we just cracked on with that cycle as normal!

Barsons - Happy Birthday for the weekend flowers and as much as I know exactly what you mean feeling bad for another birthday without a baby, just think about all those birthdays WITH a baby that you have to come. Once you have the baby you'll look back on all this as just a small period in your life that was rubbish - but worth it in the end. Thats my new mantra and I'm just hoping I'm proven right!

YouBoggleMyMind Fri 24-Mar-17 11:30:18

Yup, I'm defo not missing it this time. Really pleased and hope it works this time. smile
