Anyone trying for no 3?

Going to start trying for a third in August, I already have a dd10 and a ds7. I don't mind a boy or a girl but if I could choose I would choose a girl as still have all dd gorgeous little dresses and cardigans don't know what happened to ds clothes!
Anyone else mad enough to try for a third??

Me! Have dd 4.5 and ds 2. Swing between longing to blossom with bump, give birth and have baby cuddles and being stricken with terror about how I'd cope if we get lucky! This one's taking a little while to come along, dd was a whoops, ds happened 2nd month trying. Still, 4 months is nothing compared to some of the people on these threads. Feel so blessed already. Good luck to you!

I've also got an elder daughter and a younger son and have just started TTC. Not entirely sure if we're not completely insane or not, but hey ho! Good luck to both of you!

But there are only 3. That must prove we are nutters! I suspect our efforts this month have come to nothing, I was so grouchy with my poor little ones it can only mean af is on her way. Boo!

Hiya
I'm 31 with an 11 & 9 year old, after all these years trying again. Just got married and decided to go for one last baby. My 2 sons are growing up so quickly,so looking forward to going back to the baby stage, but maybe my memory is a little fuzzy! I'm in the dtd stage of 1st cycle since first real af, no idea how long it will take now I'm older though
Nice to see some others the same situation,
Good luck everyone

I am 36 too ELR. #1 was also a bit of a surprise for us hands, #2 was conceived on cycle 3, although I think this was only the first cycle I ovulated on following #1's birth. I was 30 when I conceived first time and 32 second time

I'm wondering if we'll be as lucky again (this is cycle 1) or whether since we last TTC things will have changed significantly. Guess only time will tell! Going from a less than 2 year gap to at least a 3.5 year gap is, I imagine, going to feel a bit weird. Especially as I seem to have forgotten most of the chaos associated with teeny babies!

Good luck luxlisbon - hope your cycles settle down.

Me but not till Xmas! Am 32 and have dd1 3.4 and dd2 17 months. Worried about managing 3 plus work and about how many bathrooms we will need if we have another girl.

Thanks Hendricks, seemed to go straight to textbook 28 days cycle so hoping for that to be the norm.

It's exciting trying for number 3, I think most people expect you to stop at two but I'd love a big family though 3 might have to be our limit due to house/car space.

Pommedechocolat you made me laugh- basically put bathrooms in every nook and cranny if you've got a house full of girls, otherwise the fights are horrendous- I grew up like this! My two follow each other everywhere, Inc toilet and bathroom which is a bit gross really...

Yay another 3 people so maybe we aren't so mad after all!
lux glad it's not just me with the really big age gaps. It will be like totally starting again as don't have a baby thing in the house apart from a few clothes and some reins!
Getting really excited, started taking folic acid too so starting to feel more like it could happen. Me and DH keep saying if we have another baby ect ect, soon we could be saying when the baby comes!!

I know ELR, I'm currently mourning my beautiful wooden high chair, gorgeous cot bed, baby Bjorn, 3 prams of various sizes- all given away. I'm hoping people will be just as generous back this time. I know it's not worth buying everything brand new and you don't use half the stuff you buy first time round.

Completely feel like a first timer might even go to antenatal classes when I'm pg, my last Labour lasted 20 mins start to finish so need to remind myself it's not always that quick and easy(ish). I'm even excited at this prospect!
Just been hanging out with my two nieces who are 3 and 1 and all the kids played so nicely I'm feeling more confident that life won't turn into a complete circus. We'll see though...

Evening fellow nutters. We are still flooded with high chairs, cots slings etc. Our house will seem so much bigger when all that paraphernalia can be passed on (hopeful). Well, I'm feeling sad that af has arrived as predicted. I had textbook implantation bleeding like previous 2 pregnancies, but af arrived early anyway. Wondering what the first two did up there, it was so easy previous attempts! Still, dh appears to be looking on the bright side iyswim...

lux my first labour was 4hrs26mins and my last labour was 1hour 4minutes so hoping for another quicky!
Apparently 3rd is supposed to be the worse arrggg........ Well so I read somewhere! To be honest I've had worse migraines than labour, so I really hope it's untrue about the 3rd being the worst.

I remember being pg with my 2nd and the midwife telling me to call her as soon as I felt the 1st contraction(thank God I did) as she said 2nd babies can come extremely quickly (he did). Then she cryptically said something along the lines of "when it's a third that's when you run into trouble" and that's haunting me now. Keeping positive and getting fit so I can take on whatever Labour throws at me!
Sorry af arrived handsful but good luck this month, I'm sure you won't have to wait long if you've conceived easily in the past. Good luck to everyone embarking on ttc this month, I'm still in my fertile window so praying the weather doesn't sabotage attempts, it's getting warm here! Half looking forward to the not knowing and excitement of what could be in the 2ww, half don't want to get my hopes up as it's early days and could take months.

Oh, annakin31 that's very similar to me in pretty much every aspect (recently married two years, two dds of similar ages, waiting till xmas). Here's hoping we both catch quickly and continue the parallel lives thing :)

Lux, thank you. Elr, Ovulation buddies, whoever thought I'd ever have one of those! It is so lovely talking to others with the same hopes, it makes me feel less insane. It's when both dcs talk at me simultaneously, I can't imagine focussing on 3, argh! Still, I grew up as first of 3, as did dh, and it's fun. There would always be a space at the table if we don't at least try again. Great decision Anna, that's so romantic!

Evening ladies,

We've got 2 DS(4 and 10m) we always said we'd have 3 until DS2 arrived, then we thought that as lovely as it is 3 might be too many for us to handle.

We sold our baby car seat the other day and I was suddenly struck by sadness... DH responded by saying we could always buy another one if needed. It's early days I thought and I'm only 32 so let's wait and see how we feel in a few years.

Then it struck me that my period was due and that it still hadn't arrived... We're using the pulling out method, which really isn't a method, is it? It's just being lazy. I'm on d39 and still nothing but I'm feeling wiped out. Eeeeek!

Don't know how I'd feel if I actually was pregnant - she says sipping a glass of wine. OMG! We got pregnant with DS2 with one single attempt, can the swimmers literally commando crawl up there???

Well I'm technically trying for number 3. My first is an angel (m/c) I now have a gorgeous D.D and I'm trying again. Although I'm out for now as the witch (a.f) turned up this morning. xx

Turns out they can't! I went to the loo just after typing the previous post and guess what?

It's probably for the best, DS2 is only tiny and I want to keep enjoying babyhood. At the same time, the possibility of a third didn't scare me as much as I thought it would, so I think I'm going to enjoy my boys for now but never say never...

Good luck to you ladies!
