Anyone trying for no 3?

Going to start trying for a third in August, I already have a dd10 and a ds7. I don't mind a boy or a girl but if I could choose I would choose a girl as still have all dd gorgeous little dresses and cardigans don't know what happened to ds clothes!
Anyone else mad enough to try for a third??

I'm still feeling a bit skeptical. I'll wait to celebrate when I get a proper bfp. Boobs very tingly. I'm afraid it's just an evap. It's defo there and pink but still very faint...

Hi all

I'm 36. Have dd1 10 and dd2 8. First cycle of trying to conceive number 3 - AF due on Thursday but hoping it doesn't arrive (though, realistically, I know I'm unlikely to get THAT lucky! ;))

Congrats, Twocrazykids! Good luck everyone else!

We are trying for number 3 and have DD1 11 & DD2 8, it's our first cycle and AF due Thursday! Spooky how similar our situations are basilafawlty! I think people will think we are mad but have just decided its now or never and we love being parents! Fingers crossed this month is successful, I fell first time with my last two children.

debs and basil both of you are almost exactly the same as me too, accept I have a dd and a ds. It's also first our month ttc and af due on thurs but started with some spotting today so looks like it isn't my month, my boobs are absolutely killing me though which is really unusual. I also fell both times in first month with last two!

Thanks guys, I couldn't resist and just did another test but different brand this time and it's also a faint bfp...

Twocrazykids, yay! That's really cheering. ELR, I'm in the same boat, it's so hard not to get excited about minuscule symptoms, I'm being very cynical. We were burgled over the weekend, I have 3 different house guests this week and then a wedding on sat and ds's christening with 50 odd guests for lunch on Sunday. I don't have the headspace for symptom spotting right now! Best of luck to all fellow nutters.

Oh yay, Two that's sounding like a BFP to me Grin

I just remembered I should have been taking folic acid for months and bought some Blush Poor neglected third child :(

I'm spotting today too. Oh well.

I conceived dd2 in first month of trying, but dd1 took over two years and I was much younger then than I am now so I'm not feeling too optimistic. That said, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't. Because I'm lucky enough to be blessed with two wonderful daughters I won't be devastated if it doesn't happen this time. But I want to give these last few eggs of my Autumn years a chance! I know if I don't try, I'll always be wondering "What if..."

Am I mad to be having a third? I have always wanted 3, but now I have a BFP (somewhat accidentally) I am beginning to wonder if I am off my head. I don't know anyone with 3. My first two are just about to turn 5 and just about to turn 2, so my gaps are quite nice.

Thanks everyone - congrats two. How does everyone's other halves feel about it all? Not sure my DH is too keen, he isn't saying much!

Aww, that's brilliant, two!

My hubby did a real volte face on it. A year or two ago he was adamant no more, no way, no chance. A couple of months ago he changed his mind and started reminiscing about how sexy I look when I'm pregnant (he's an absolute sweetheart is my dh). I think what really did it though was seeing dd1 turn 10. I think it brought it home to him that if we wanted children in the house we'd have to another because our two won't stay children for many more years.

My other half Is delighted. It makes a change as our last two dc were unplanned!

I'm a bit nervous as had a miscarriage 2 years ago. It feels different this time though, no spotting and much stronger symptoms..

My other half was dead against having another but when our dd1 turned 11 he decided we should try for a third. He missed out a lot on first two as travelled a lot with work but now has an office job so would be more involved (or so he says! Lol) did a test today and bfn but think I ovulate late as fell once before on day 20 of cycle so maybe just need to wait and see!

Yay, two, told you a line is a line Wink and congrats mad as well Grin

Sorry to hear about the spotting basila, that sucks.

DH and I always planned three, then after DC2 was born he started saying we should just stick to two. I was a bit gutted but just bided my time because I thought it was probably sleep deprivation etc talking and I haven't even had to have The Talk or anything, we just seem to have gone back to the plan :) Fingers crossed my elderly ovaries are also on board!

Have had a rubbish day so going to indulge myself with a bit of symptom spotting: bit snotty, boobs feel a bit fuller maybe, leg is killing me (I have a bad hip and relaxin made it hellish in my first pregnancy - bit early for relaxin I suspect, but humour me Wink). PG tests in the post!

Congratulations twoCrazyKids. Congrats to other bfp's if there are any, unfortunately my 2 yo will not allow me to read the thread as she is literally pulling my leg!!! The irony that I'm about to complain about wanting no3...

Basically, I sometimes have irregular cycles. Sometimes I'll ovulate on cd13 and sometimes it could be cd23. I did go to GP before and all was normal, she said sometimes it just happens and all is well. Anyway, this would be out 3rd month ttc no3 but first month using opk's and tracking ovulation etc. I ordered my opk's on cd10 stupidly thinking they'd arrive within a day or 2 - they didn't! I'm cd15 today (I think) and they arrived this morning. I tested and the opk's is negative. A strong enough second line did appear but not for 3 mins or so. I know that in the past a pos opk's would be positive within seconds. So now I don't know if I've already ovulated or not. My boobs were a bit sore a few days ago which can happen around ovulation and we did do the deed so ermine around then.
I don't think I'll keep testing anyway, I think I'll keep the opk's for next month if Af arrives.
I know I sound batty but I was adamant on tracking and timing this month, now I don't even know when stupid AF is due.

Sorry for long and selfish post :-( o

Thanks guys. It's all still sinking in, one minute I'm excited, next I'm worrying how the hell I'll cope!

Who's next to test??!!

2lilgirls · 29/08/2013 13:01

I think I'll be the same two...

I remember being sooo excited but so nervous and worried about coping when I got my bfp on no2 who was very much planned!
It might take a little while to get used to, it's normal to be a little apprehensive.

How long were you ttc? Any tips for us?

Report
TwoCrazyKids · 29/08/2013 13:45

I know it's very daunting! We were very lucky and got it first try. No tips at all, I just went for it when I thought I was ovulating!
