It's all kicking off on ours! A local counsellor has put up access only signs on local roads that people use to avoid the massive traffic jams on the one main road out of the village. If you don't use the local roads you can be sitting in traffic for 45 mins.

This morning villagers sat in the street to stop people using the road, it's split the community! Grin up in arms they are!

What's happening in yours ?

Someone bought a 4 pack of doughnuts from Asda, then realised they were charged £9 instead of £1... but only after eating 3 out of the pack. We've had a whole weekend of £9 doughnut memes. It's been very entertaining.

Hawkins001 · 29/06/2021 19:21

Holy smokes, what village is this in, op ?

BikeRunSki · 29/06/2021 19:21
  • What day/time is the drop in vaccine centre open
  • hope everyone in the big RTA yesterday is ok
  • Football’s coming home (none of the England squad play for our nearest premier league club)
FortunesFave · 29/06/2021 19:22

The council (we're in Oz) has approved a load of new houses on a big patch of green land. People are doing lots of crying faces and bleating about 'the integrity of our beautiful land"

There's frigging ACRES of unspoiled land here! The land in question is an unremarkable patch which is close to a load of other houses.

They're acting like it's Watership Down.

PeonyTimez · 29/06/2021 19:22

@AZFell hahaha!! That's amazing! This road thing is very entertaining, some residents are sitting in the road to stop traffic, people are driving round them, others are trying to get people to only use the cut through roads. Someone has mentioned gdpr with the taking down of number plates HmmGrin

Nothing as exciting as yours- moans about dog poo, litter and lost cats

floatingboater · 29/06/2021 19:30

Nothing exciting. Dog poo on someone's drive, random cat sleeping in someone's porch, and someone's been pelted with a two litre bottle of wee after coming out of a bar.

BeckyWithTheCurls · 29/06/2021 19:36

Fly tipping on ours, which I don’t mind.

Also, the ‘how long does it take to get through to the GP’ - usually on a Monday ffs!

Nothing that exciting currently!

Any ideas what they are planning on doing with the number plates they note down?!

MovingtoOz1Day · 29/06/2021 19:38

A load of trees have been cut down near the train station, lots of speculation as to why.

Lots of people asking for gardener recommendations.

An ongoing totally unfunny joke about a red Mini.

All very dull today

TabithaTiger · 29/06/2021 19:43

Someone trying to track a missing parcel

Request for recommendations for puppy training classes

Outrage over the overwhelming bins outside the McDonalds at the retail park

Missing dogs/cats

Someone looking for recommendations for the best place to get a spray tan

LemonLymanDotCom · 29/06/2021 19:48
  • A call for homeware donations for a young woman in need
  • Details of a pop up vaccine centre (various)
  • A request to borrow a ping pong table from somewhere
  • Offer of free cardboard moving boxes

All quite dull round here, usually there's much more helicopter talk.

LiveatCityHall · 29/06/2021 19:48

Not FB but we have a street What's App group started up during the first pandemic. In reality it's been brilliant for some of the elderly people on our street however it has had some frankly, BRILLIANT moments! Recently (and this is very outing) we had one house finding a takeaway on their doorstep on Sunday that was meant for another house on Saturday evening. The whole thread was great, everyone shouting down the delivery company and how terrible they were!

MondeoFan · 29/06/2021 19:49

Cars being stolen especially BMW or Range Rover
People talking about faraday pouches
People moaning about not getting through to GP surgery
Someone saying about how tidy/untidy people's front gardens are
Lots of people asking for gardeners/plasterers/odd jobs etc

FartleBarfle · 29/06/2021 19:49

This was a couple of years ago now but still makes me laugh. We are a new estate tagged onto a small village. A lot of comments appeared talking about suspicious looking people walking around, which was hard to quantify in a new estate with lots of people moving in. It sent a few people loopy, and they kept offering to do an unofficial neighbourhood watch and patrol the area. Then there were reports and photos about more suspicious looking people, wearing hoodies, hanging around the houses, behaving weirdly. Turned out it was all these vigilantes following and taking pics of each other 🤣 the last straw was someone uploaded a photo of two people that were looking and acting weirdly - another poster said - that's my parents come to visit, they just went for a walk!

BeckyWithTheCurls · 29/06/2021 19:50

Oh yes, missing parcels!

We often get screenshots of someone in their slippers and pj bottoms, standing in front of their front door, with a passive aggressive tone asking if anyone knows who this could be as their parcel is with them (the robbing bastards) - last but made up obvs, but you can ‘hear’ the tone in their post! Grin

BeckyWithTheCurls · 29/06/2021 19:51

last bit made up, obviously

namcybotwinbloom · 29/06/2021 19:52

@AZFell that was in our local paper are you in the NW?

BelleClapper · 29/06/2021 19:53

We’ve a gang of roving youths who we’re not allowed to name, despite everyone knowing who they are. The police are completely uninterested despite them vandalising the new football shelters, terrorising the co op staff and being involved in a stabbing (the actual stabber was an adult who did get arrested).

The hyperbole and talk of caning and hanging on the many threads is quite a sight to see.

berryhead2013 · 29/06/2021 19:54

Ours is mostly has any of got the number for the local( insert courier company) guy
Or pictures of a doorstep with the caption whose door is this you have my parcel them a rant saying how bloody crap these companies are them Someone always chimes in have you checked your blue/grey/green bin or your garage

FionnulaTheCooler · 29/06/2021 19:55

Lost dog.
Desk free for uplift.
Moan about the litter on the local beach.
Moan about bins being emptied 2 days late.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 29/06/2021 19:57

Peony I'm wondering if you live near my parents. Something along these lines was suggested there, it's a ludicrous idea for many reasons.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 29/06/2021 19:58

Ps no way can I say what's on mine. I bet they are all on here and I would be swiftly outed!

mnahmnah · 29/06/2021 19:58

People shagging in alleyways

People wondering when they can do karaoke again

I live in a classy area, honest

Getawriggleon · 29/06/2021 19:59
