I used to know a yellow Labrador called Briggs. Admittedly, that was the name on the tag on his collar so was most likely the name of his family. But it seemed to suit him ( as far as I was concerned) so he was always Briggs to me, whatever his actual name may have been. If I ever have a male yellow Labrador, he will be called Briggs.

Years ago i had a rescue cat called Baboo.

And more recently a majestic pedigree cat called Mr. Poo Poo - which quickly turned into Monsieur Poo Poo (heavy french accent) because, for some reason, he 'spoke' in a heavy french accent.

My cats are called, Puck, Hallow and Hex.

If I were an old lady living alone, I would name my cats after familiars - Vinegar Tom, Sacke-and-Sugar, Pyewhacket, Peck-in-the-Crowne etc. But my teenagers wouldn't have it. sad
