Dedicate: 30 days of Yoga with Adriene

Gumpendorf · 30/12/2018 11:00

Anyone else doing the 2019 Yoga with Adriene 30 day programme?

The details are here

do.yogawithadriene.com/p/dedicate

It's free and the videos are posted on YT each day. You can sign up via the above link and you get a daily e-mail or via her YT channel.

I joined in for the first time in 2018 and loved it. The community of MNers to share experiences and provide encouragement kept me going to the end.

And I'm ...err ..not young! I'd only done a couple of yoga classes before but have continued an ad hoc basis since. I remember stiffly lowering myself to the floor on day 1 and feeling extraordinarily flexible about 14 days later. I'm hoping I can recover some of that this year!

Like the sound of this. Starting the 8 week blood sugar diet too. Would love to be the kind of person who gets up early and does yoga before work. How long are the 2019 workouts?

calamariqueen · 30/12/2018 20:26

Thanks for posting this I'm up for joining in too. Will have to take it easy to start with as injured at the moment, but certain some yoga will be very restorative 🙏🏽

PhannyMcNee · 30/12/2018 20:28

I’ve signed up.

Do I need a yoga mat? I’ve used them when I’ve gone to yoga classes but never bothered before at home.

chutneypig · 30/12/2018 20:32

I’m definitely in. I’ve done the 30 day series 18 months ago but I’m keen to do one with everyone else. I’m not quite sure how the timings are going to work for me, I have a 3 hour commute Monday/Friday so might need to be a day behind to be sure I can do Monday evenings and Friday mornings.

percheron67 · 30/12/2018 20:35

Count me in too, please.

piglet81 · 30/12/2018 20:37

I'm going to try and do this too. Used to love doing yoga but am the very opposite of supple these days. Whether I can motivate myself to do stuff in the evenings after dc's bedtime is the question...

poorbuthappy · 30/12/2018 20:42

Just signed up. Unfit and creaky.

Bonkersblond · 30/12/2018 20:49

Love yoga and don't do enough, thank you for posting, I'm in!

MyView2 · 30/12/2018 20:57

I’m in and I’ve talked my husband into it too so we can be inflexible and useless together! Can’t wait to get started.

JustKeepSwimmingJustKeepSwimmi · 30/12/2018 21:02

Ooh tempted. Im obese and unfit though... i followed a few of her introductory videos but then drifted. Would love to see if i can do some of it. Shes usually good with alternative postures right? Or is it reallt for yoga types?

JustKeepSwimmingJustKeepSwimmi · 30/12/2018 21:09

Signed up. Can see i can find 20 mins but the first 2 are 50mins aren't they!! That will be harder with everyone home!!

imcrackersme · 30/12/2018 21:13

Will sign up! Have stiff upper back and would love to be able to touch my toes!

biggirlknickers · 30/12/2018 21:15

I’ve signed up for this! I did the True 30 days recently and it was transformative. I’m fat and unfit. I felt so much better / stronger / more flexible in a very short time.

DeltaG · 30/12/2018 21:25

I’ve signed up!

Clankboing. You don't need to print the calendar but the link is here https://yogawithadriene.com/calendar/
I think we'll also get a separate e-mail with link etc on 1 Jan.

To those asking about mats and space - I create a small space in my living room. I own a mat but I also have carpet so I never bother with the mat. You only need enough space to lay down or just focus on the standing or sitting exercises.

What I love about Adriene is that she is excellent at giving permission to do what you can. She never pushes you to go further than you can safely.

I also have long days out and last year I missed some days and then doubled up on others.

I'm thrilled so many of us will start on 2 Jan Smile

You can do it justkeepswimming. The first video will have a lot of talking and encouragement. And you don't have to do it all at once! Smile

For those who asked, you don't need a yoga mat. You don't need anything really, just comfortable clothes.

Adriene usually gives alternative postures and builds things up as you go along. The videos I have seen don't assume any level of experience.

Also remember you can pause the video if you want. Or watch her demonstrate a posture then go back and do it along with her.

Coached · 30/12/2018 21:39

I’ve signed up

Love Adriene, she makes it so easy

Toffeewhirl · 30/12/2018 21:54

I've signed up. How long are the sessions? I'll need to do it before work - and I'm not a morning person.

OhioOhioOhio · 30/12/2018 21:57

Mmm i guess i should do this. Its always a bit longer than i can cope with.

NoLeslie · 30/12/2018 22:30
