The lady we know and love, who has brought us 30 Days Of Yoga, is starting a new series of sessions on YouTube from 1 January called .

This just might be the incentive I've been waiting for to establish a daily practice. Does anyone want to join me? Smile

Interesting, Magical. I didn't know that many years of office work are responsible for my very tight hamstrings.

Like you, I find forward folds quite easy when I'm practicing regularly. Not yet palms-on-the-floor but almost there. Today though, I can still touch the floor easily but am surprised at how the backs of my legs protest when I fold forward.

Did day one today, I'm a day behind. Finding any space big enough in our house was a pain but I chucked everyone into the kitchen and shut the door. Still managed to relax even though I can hear dd not doing her homework, ds crying and DH doing diy...

Oh well, I done it! Now to see if I can drag myself out of bed 15 -30mins earlier in the mornings to do it!

quirkychick · 03/01/2016 15:21

I will do Day 2 tomorrow too. Cote my dd (6) like yoga too. She loves Waybuloo and the "yogo", she got a Yogakids dvd and loved that they did "tree" too! I think she would climb on me if I tried to do Yoga Camp at the same time Smile.

I didn't have an office job, but still have tight hamstrings. I think I will be very creaky and stiff tomorrow!

CoteDAzur · 03/01/2016 16:00

Actually, he was pretty good at concentrating (aside from the verbal diarrhea) but we did end up hugging on the same mat for savasana in the end Smile

I think i've got a got mixed up and did day 2 rather than day 1. Hey ho, i can always do day one tomorrow morning before work.

Very tight shoulders and hamstrings after nearly a fortnight of no practise, feeling good for it though. all stretched and wider!

I need to keep this up when i'm back to work and the normal day to day family routine resumes...

I've just done Day 2 and then Day 1 (I like to complete things). Really enjoyed it. I didn't get the Day 1 email, but I did receive Day 2.

MagicalHamSandwich · 03/01/2016 18:23

Just completed day 2. I'm loving how this is accessible to all levels and am actually really enjoying the pace, which is a good deal slower than my usual vinyasa flow classes. Gives me time to really check my alignment and work on my problem areas.

Email never arrived for me either but I'm an evening yoga person, so the video is usually long ready when I am. Today was way early for my practice.

And, yay, hamstrings are getting better, I'm back to palms flat on the ground and working on bending my elbows more. Smile

CoteDAzur · 03/01/2016 20:37

I'm looking forward to doing Day 2 tomorrow morning Smile I hope it stretches my now-rigid hamstrings a little because I booked my regular very intense vinyasa class for Tuesday and can't possibly survive it in my present state of a concrete block!

I've set alarm for early tomorrow morning so I can do day 2 in peace Smile

museumworker · 03/01/2016 22:09

Day 2 done - didn't realise how long it was til I was half way in! I can already see a difference in my downward dog - heels getting closer to the floor after only 10 days of yoga practice! My teen shows no interest in yoga, hope the younger ones do (aged 3 and 1). Actually, the 3 year old did run up to a group in the park in the summer and start doing a downward dog with them! 'Look mummy, I'm doing yoga-rt!'

CoteDAzur · 03/01/2016 22:10

"yoga-rt" Smile

Am I the only person that found day 2 really hard? Sad I struggled a lot and there were some bits I simply could not do. I will persevere though...

cece · 03/01/2016 22:33

The only interest my teen shows in yoga is when I say how difficult a pose is - she then proceeds to do it with ease. Sigh.

I was especially annoyed when she produced a lovely crow pose out of nowhere after it had taken me months to manage it (for 6 seconds).

CoteDAzur · 03/01/2016 22:38

I sympathise, cece. I manage a yoga pose after a year, show it off, and DD (10) goes "Oh what... this?" and does it. You should see her perfect wheel Envy

The one pose I managed to impress DC with has been the headstand Grin

OP posts:
cece · 03/01/2016 23:24

When I was 10 I could do wheel without thinking. Now it is a work in progress Grin

We did a really hard one in class the other day. I'll see if I can find a picture as I don't know its name.

cece · 03/01/2016 23:27

This one - but we did it with a partner - I would never have got my legs up without a bit of help! I noticed the teen didn't attempt this one. LOL

Adriene is starting YOGA CAMP on January 1st!
CoteDAzur · 03/01/2016 23:46

Forearm stand! We tried that in class about a month ago and I couldn't move my right arm for three days Shock

I won't be trying that again anytime soon.

ItsAllGoing I'm sure you're not - but even if you were, so what?!

Everyone's working with the body they have on a given day and it's not always the same. I've certainly had days when I've struggled to even lift my bum into a half-arsed down dog while on others I've managed a perfect tree pose in a hotel room at 2am after a work do ...

That's your body and it's okay! Just keep going! Smile

itonlygetsbetter · 04/01/2016 06:41

Day 2 completed.
Hoping it will help me to get through my first day back at work!

Musicianofbremen · 04/01/2016 07:06

Forced myself up at 6 to do day two. Feel great now.

I used to get frustrated with how slow Adrienne can be but I am really starting to enjoy it now. Feel like I am correcting lots of tiny niggles and that can only be a good thing.

Now to wake the children as practise for getting up early tomorrow Grin

RhinestoneCowgirl · 04/01/2016 07:09

ItsAllGoing I've just finished day 2, and I found the standing poses really hard. My balance is not good! But I keep plugging away at it Smile

RubberDuck · 04/01/2016 08:37

Done Day 2 (never got an email for this one Sad). Wow, joining in with the tight hamstring club AND really tight wrists - down dog and even tabletop very uncomfortable. Still suck at balance, too Grin

Really enjoyed it though and I do like the slower approach so I can really pay attention to what my body is telling me. I like my yoga to be mindful rather than rushed (or maybe I'm just very slow at getting information from my body and everyone else can switch poses quickly!)

quirkychick · 04/01/2016 09:04

I did this this morning and bulked when I saw it was 50mins. Did it by promising myself I could stop if I wanted to.

I am really stiff too. Twists and balances ok, but very tight hamstrings and shoulders. I am glad I did the 30days fairly recently!

cece · 04/01/2016 10:44

Day 2 complete. Feeling very stiff - even foreward fold was tricky today. LOL!

Cote - the dolphin pose we did before the forearm stand was actually more painful for me! Once your legs are up it actually felt OK. Smile
