The lady we know and love, who has brought us 30 Days Of Yoga, is starting a new series of sessions on YouTube from 1 January called .

This just might be the incentive I've been waiting for to establish a daily practice. Does anyone want to join me? Smile

Hah, yes wibbling around in a squat is exactly what I did too - what an excellent description Grin

quirkychick · 28/01/2016 10:19

OK, I have just done day 19 without a knee strap - hurray! So, it was probably worth me resting for 2 days. I have walked a lot in those days, though. I have my brother staying this weekend and I'm now trying to wonder where and when I'm going to practice...

Musicianofbremen · 28/01/2016 11:07

Hello.

I am falling behind a bit too. Just done day 24. Have kept to my New Years resolution of daily yoga but have dropped yoga camp on running days do Adrienne's runner's cool down instead and days that I have a RL yoga class. Feels like a better balance for me anyway.

What did everyone do in the freestyle part of day 24? I did a wobbly wheel and a headstand against the wall.

RubberDuck · 28/01/2016 12:32

Day 26 done and didn't get on with this one terribly well :(

Started out feeling really chuffed that hovering table was really easy for me, and even managed to lift one leg at a time with no problems.

Then it was just too much sphinx. After the first forearm plank I started getting sharp pain in my elbows, particularly my left, so I ignored that whole sequence and decided to freestyle some balancing poses which I did okay at.

And then what was the next part?! Balancing poses and I was already tired out! Did rubbish at that.

Ended fairly well (even I can't mess up a reclined pigeon Grin) though so onwards and upwards.

I'm away this weekend from tomorrow so may have to put the final few days on hold until I get back (boo).

RubberDuck · 28/01/2016 12:32

Musician: I think I freestyled bridge pose for that part. I adore bridge pose. Gets all the kinks out from all my desk sitting.

opioneers · 28/01/2016 13:16

Me too, that's always what I do in the freestyle bits!

MagicalHamSandwich · 28/01/2016 17:25

I mostly freestyle the stuff I'm learning - crow pose at present as well as the splits when I'm well warmed up.

Off to my weekly dance class now - will do today's video afterwards if I still have the energy ...

Ouch, day 26 was hard. My lower back did not appreciate Sphinx Sad And I appear to be too tall for my yoga mat for things like forearm plank.

Really tried hard in the balance poses, can feel it doing me good, not quite so many wobbles (but still falling over!)

Am away overnight but am taking my second best yoga mat with me so I can practise tomorrow morning Smile

quirkychick · 29/01/2016 11:28

Have done Day 20, I thought it might be alternate nostril breathing after someone said you need tissues. I then did some Headspace, so I feel super chilled out. I need to get going now as I have to sort out Dd1's room for when my db comes later today.

Musicianofbremen · 29/01/2016 12:24

Went back to dreaded power yoga class today for the first time since xmas. It's so much faster than Adrienne but I could really see how her program has helped me improve.

I think I am going to segue into 30 days of yoga after this and then alternate them til I get bored.

RubberDuck · 29/01/2016 16:32

Did Day 27! On a hard hotel floor in Brussels, so not quite as comfy as I would have liked, but did wonders for my spine after being sat in trains all day!

Musicianofbremen · 29/01/2016 17:57

Serious dedication Rubber.

I'm on board with a continued regular yoga support thread, totally!

cece · 30/01/2016 12:51

I have been to class today, the teacher put some fantastic gel on my shoulders that really helped. It is called china gel and I have now ordered a pot of my own. Smile

It felt amazing and really eased the muscles in my shoulder. Better than deepheat and smelt nicer too.

CoteDAzur · 30/01/2016 12:53

I would really love to continue with a such a thread after we finish Yoga Camp.

Now that we are all seasoned yogis Grin, would you like to continue with Adrienne's YOGA FOR WEIGHT LOSS series? There are 7 videos that I can see in that series. While we are doing those, maybe we can come up with another YouTube series that we might all like to do together?

CoteDAzur · 30/01/2016 12:53

Tell me more about this 'China gel', cece. Sounds amazing.

OP posts:
cece · 30/01/2016 13:48

Initially it felt icy cold on shoulders. Teacher massaged it into shoulders. Turned tingly and hot like deepheat but warmth seemed to go deeper into muscles. Didn't feel any pain in shoulder for whole class - even managed to join in the headstands.

quirkychick · 30/01/2016 14:32

That sounds magic cece.

I haven't managed today, as guests here and dd2 slept appallingly. I have however been swimming for the first time in years on a day to a health club. I might be very much in need tomorrow as I think my muscles will be protesting!

A new yoga thread sounds great, I can't always manage a daily practice but I will do my best. I usually do some exercise each day.

RubberDuck · 30/01/2016 18:01

Day 28 done. Really struggling with knees on a hard floor. I guess a travel yoga mat is on my wish list when I return! Any recommendations for one that packs up small?

Spent the day at a conference on really uncomfortable seats and lugging a heavy rucksack around. REALLY appreciated the yoga session on my return to the hotel! And yay, bridge pose!

Would love a continuation of a daily practice thread but was thinking of trying the Rise program. What about just a generalised daily check in thread to see how we're doing?

CoteDAzur · 30/01/2016 18:07

What is the Rise program, Rubber?

Feel free to put a folded towel under your knees during yoga practice. That is what I always do.

OP posts:
RubberDuck · 30/01/2016 18:36

Rise was/is one of Adriene's paid programs. Subscribing is only 10 dollars a month so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm a bit nervous of a weight loss program as I get bad acid reflux so a program based around a lot of core/heat might be counterproductive for me :(

thegiddylimit · 30/01/2016 19:11

I've done a couple of the weight loss series and they aren't too hardcore so you'll probably be fine. She has a Fun, Fit and Connected series as well, and a Vinyasa series so there are a few to choose from.

I'm so far behind on Yoga Camp now it's embarassing, think very early teens. Combination of starting late - I'll be here on the first next year, DS's hospital stay (he's back to normal now), and missing a few days. And doing the Birthday Yoga Grin. When I eventually finish I shall do 30 days again, i got to about day 20 last summer until i had a nasty cold and gave up.

CoteDAzur · 30/01/2016 19:27

Should we do the 30 Days Of Yoga together, then?

This thread has been great. It's not necessary for us all to do the same day at the same time. It's supporting & motivating anyway Smile
