The lady we know and love, who has brought us 30 Days Of Yoga, is starting a new series of sessions on YouTube from 1 January called .

This just might be the incentive I've been waiting for to establish a daily practice. Does anyone want to join me? Smile

I got told off for doing my headstand next to the wall.... apparently I don't need to. Then at the end we have a plank off - who's going to give up first??? It was tough!

But I will go back - I will do a before and after pic. Smile

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/01/2016 20:09

I know it's a bit shallow but I'm enjoying the fact that my waist is definitely more trim Blush

Did day 21 just before lunch today, and 20 before going to book group yesterday evening.

quirkychick · 23/01/2016 20:43

Rhinestone me too. I have lost 1/2" round my waist and a couple of inches around the bra strap . I have been walking loads and eating healthily.

I do generally feel better doing yoga, so I am not completely shallow. When I did the 30 days, I needed to strap up my wrist for plank etc. but this time I haven't so I can really see how much stronger I am. I think the flexibility is coming slowly...

RubberDuck · 24/01/2016 11:07

Day 22 done. Nice and short practice today, which was nice as I got up late Grin

cece · 24/01/2016 14:53

Ouch - I am in pain!

RubberDuck · 25/01/2016 09:20

Oh no, cece! What did you do? Hope nothing too bad and that you recover quickly.

Day 23 done - really, really enjoyed this one. Especially noticed how much my strength has increased this month with the planks and the warrior poses. Great to see progress.

CoteDAzur · 25/01/2016 09:27

What happened cece? Shock

MagicalHamSandwich · 25/01/2016 10:06

Yay for plank-off, cece. I had one with a co-worker recently (yes, we're childish like that!). He's 7 years younger, male and very much into muscle building sports. I'm an entirely dance and yoga person and very slight. I won after almost 7 minutes in forearm plank. Turns out a good, steady ujjayi breathing technique beats brute strength ... Co-worker was a good sport about it but was visibly unhappy about losing against a tiny woman! Grin

In less competitive news I'm up to date on my yoga camp videos and for reasons not entirely clear to me am sore today in my shoulders. First time since my sort-of-break over Christmas ...

cece · 25/01/2016 16:37

Day after my venture into the abs of steel yoga class my neck cricked and now it still hurts. So I am suffering with a stiff neck and the reflection that perhaps I pushed myself too hard in the class ! I'm not going to mention the sore back, abs and top of legs.

Doh I have just done day 10 for the second time... I thought it seemed familiar!

Shoulder and neck still painful but eased a little from doing it anyway - although left out the planking.

MagicalHamSandwich · 25/01/2016 23:28

Day 24 done! Is it really day 24 already? This has gone by way too quick!

My return to my daily practice seems to have made a difference, though; I actually got complimented on my nicely toned legs today. Grin

RubberDuck · 26/01/2016 08:18

Day 24 done here, too :) Yes, definitely seeing results, which is lovely!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 26/01/2016 13:05

Did day 24 before school again today. I'm on a morning yoga roll!

CoteDAzur · 26/01/2016 22:41

cece - It never helps to push too hard (Thinking back at kicking up to forearm stand several times and not being able to move my right arm for three days Shock)

I gave today's class a miss, as did "intermediate" (hah!) vinyasa class at the studio. "Today's we'll work on back bends and opening our shoulders", said the teacher. My shoulders feel really weird now and I'm not sure if I'll be able to move them at all tomorrow. Ah well.

I think I have learnt my lesson cote. I think it was a combination of things but at the end we were doing crow into headstands - several times. I think maybe that might have been when I did the damage as I kind of fall into the headstand a bit!

I did Day11 last night and it feels much better. Might brave a class today but take it gently.

RubberDuck · 27/01/2016 08:37

Day 25 done. A bit challenging for me, but I got through it (oh okay, I maybe wimped out with a short goddess pose and didn't attempt crow, but other than that Grin). You know you're pushing your limits when the childs poses seem way too short!

But I did it - getting stronger!

CoteDAzur · 27/01/2016 10:44

"crow into head stands" Shock

cece - You sound so far advanced than me that it's like another planet Smile

I can hold crow for about two seconds. I would no doubt land on my nose and possibly break my neck if I ever tried to go from crow directly to head stand.

Meanwhile, my back, shoulders and upper arms are quite sore today. Not sure if dancing loads at Australia Day party last night helped or hindered the recovery process but hey ho Wine

Well done, Rubber!

We will have to find another YouTube yoga series to do together when Adriene's Yoga Camp ends in a few days

OP posts:
cece · 27/01/2016 11:13

Blush I really am not advanced; hence the injury!

When I say into handstand I mean on head with knees resting on arms in tripod headstand. I am not even close to getting my legs up into the air. Or getting back from that position into crow.

I've only been doing yoga since July so still a beginner ! Plus I'm pretty old and decrepit.

RubberDuck · 27/01/2016 11:24

I'm tempted to subscribe to Adriene's Find What Feels Good classes: yogawithadriene.vhx.tv It's less than what I'm currently paying with YogaAnytime and I know I get on with her teaching style.

Not sure how much of it is extra to her free stuff on YouTube, but I might take a punt for a month or two. I find paying for online content helps me focus on actually committing to do it, and I know I'll never go to a real live class - too self-conscious and lazy!

quirkychick · 27/01/2016 14:09

Marking place as I'm falling behind... I have had quite a twingy knee on and off so haven't done it everyday. I will try to fit in a practice later today.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 27/01/2016 21:26

No yoga today as didn't get chance for early session, then long day at work and an evening run. Briefly thought about doing day 25 after the run but it looks a bit too energetic.

Now relaxing in pjs with a hot cocoa.

opioneers · 28/01/2016 07:50

Rubberduck, yes I'm wondering about signing up too. Doing the Yoga Camp as they come out has been such good discipline for me in keeping to a daily practice, and I'd love to have the incentive to keep going. (and I didn't do the Crow either, I just wibbled around in a squat for a bit as I can't even get my knees into my armpits to start with...)

RhinestoneCowgirl · 28/01/2016 07:55

Phew, day 25 was a bit sweaty, glad I saved it for the morning! Managed to do side plank, yay! Noticeably stronger on the right tho.

And my toes left the floor for about a second in crow (before I toppled in an undignified fashion)
