Is working full time harming my kids?

Ok as if I don't feel guilty enough for working, there's a study out today published by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation which says that working full time while your kids are pre-school increases their chances of psychological stress, unemployment and doing less well at A level. What should we do - all pack it in? Where are these mythical part-time, flexi-hour jobs that we have be promised so long? Is the government's policy of getting mothers back to work all wrong?

Thank you all very much for that welcome back. I was not well for a while, and turns out I have Glandular Fever. Anyways, yes we've gone to a 2 farm family now! and have just got over New Year, it was a bit on the incohol side if you know what I mean! We went to friends of ours on the 2nd January and I was taken home @ 10.45pm, we did arrive mind you at 3.00pm and I had a good go at the Gin and Lemonade and boy did I pay for it the next day, and this was after the incident on Hogmany, when I got rat arsed as well.
Lil, Foot and Mouth tooks its toll on everyone, and I think we all just let rip over the festive season.
On a brighter note, we have lambs and all ewes and lambs are doing well, living the life of luxury in the shed.
Before I forget, check the labels on the Meat Packaging in the supermarkets, the sneaky creatures are being a bit naughty with some of their labelling, so here goes. On Scottish Meat the labelling should have a 1 on it and the quality assurance mark or Little Red Tractor, english Meat is a 6 (think) Welsh meat 8 and Irish stuff is a 9. Anyway I shall now depart and tidy up the kitchen which resembles a midden!

Congratulations on the extra farm, two-farms-Tigger! Fingers crossed for a good year for all the farmers.

Can we really rely on that Little Red Tractor? I thought it was being abused? Where do we look for the 1,6,8 or 9?

Reading this thread made me think about things, I don't regret for one moment going back to work full time. I am determined that my kids will have a better childhood than I had. I don't want to be scrimping and saving just to be able to put food on the table, and clothes on our backs like my mother had to.

Janh, I think it is on the barcode, but, I will consult the "Knowledge" (Scottish Farmer!!) and let you know if that is right.
