Have I gone too far?

Insubordination and refusal to carry out lawful requests are usually considered gross misconduct so you are much more likely to be sacked than made redundant.

ohyesido · 03/12/2024 19:05

How delightful.

Have I gone too far?

🤣🤣🤣 this is absolutely hilarious! Love the risky behaviour and I hope there's more updates on this haha
But why wait to be forced into leaving.. Look for something more appealing now instead of wasting time.. Life is too short to stay in a job you're not happy in 😊

I'm not sure the plan is a good one without a large stash of 'F. U. money'. Anyway you have reminded me of the poem Warning by Jenny Joseph which begins:

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people’s gardens
And learn to spit...

Love it

If OP is hurting her child deliberately or animals then I might understand. If this is real, why are posters so upset about it? Let OP just offload if this is the reality.

I won't buy that posters getting upset are doing so out of concern for the boss either. I doubt the boss will give a shit and hopefully laugh.

It's not really a subject to get so wound up about, surely.

OP I want more screenshots and then you've got buy in 🤣🍿

You're all very right but it amuses me to push the boundaries somewhat

Have you considered that on the receiving end of your messages maybe a manager, but they are a person. That person may worry what to do about you, wonder if they did something wrong, think about if you are upset for some other reason. Honestly, there is no need to be an arse and no need to be rude. As PP have said you are likely to get fired, a role is made redundant if there is not sufficient work. When there were redundancies at work I met 1-2-1 with my manager and I simply said "Just to let you know if there are redundancies, I wouldn't be devasted if it were me", but of course I promised to keep working hard (and have done so).

Why are so many pressing for me to break down and sob that yes, deep down I'm miserable?

I had a bit of a moment in a job I feel deeply unsatisfied by, and made some tongue in cheek comments about wanting validation. Certainly got some today.

My boss won't fire me, he finds my antics funny and ignores me if I go too far. He's a gem and tomorrow I'll give him a Ferrero Rocher that's been in my hand bag a few weeks and smells of my perfume

The only person here who finds you clever is you.
I assure you — you aren’t nearly as smart and humorous as you give yourself credit for.
You’re middle-school-bratty-back-talking clever.
And I’m overstating.

@ohyesido I love this thread had me laughing (as a retired CEO charity sector)

It seems to me that there are a few uptight managers on here who do not like looking in the mirror.

If i was still employed i would employ you as “a difficult to manage” but strong contributor type employee

Having a room full of yes mam yes sir twats is the worst world of work to me

I've just come back to the thread and I'm astonished how many uptight posters there are on here.

After this and and the sheepskin Delboy coat thread I just think some people must live really serious agitated lives.

TheMamaYo · 03/12/2024 19:21

You made me laugh. 😁Are you getting away with it because you’re attractive, do you think?

What industry?

ohyesido · 03/12/2024 19:26

@TheMamaYo no I'm kind of like Britney Spears if she was ten pounds heavier and he's a white haired Johnny Vegas who loves his wife dearly

It won't work.

If they need you to stay and you are performing they'll just ignore it.

If they want rid of you, they will put you on a PIP or fire you.

If they want to give you redundancy, they'll give you redundancy.

Don't really think you have many cards to play.

The only one I can think of just asking if redundancy is available to you.

I have thoughts on this and was about to type it but nah, that would be kind to OP. More fun to let her dig her own grave.

Why didn’t you eat the Ferrero Rocher immediately?! You monster

I have to agree. The nastiness on here is completely unwarranted. Let's say this is all real and the OP has come to the end of her rope. It really doesn't warrant half the responses.

ManchesterLu · 03/12/2024 19:39

That's how you get SACKED, not made REDUNDANT. If you want out, hand in your notice. You want to leave with a good reference. Behaving like that is bloody rude, and (rightly) won't get you one.

Ginnnny · 03/12/2024 19:43

You’ll end up getting fired if you’re too cheeky!

They make squeaky dog toys. The OP's job is to test the squeak levels.
It has slowly and surely driven her insane.
