Love the colour blocking

Okki · 04/02/2019 14:05

sorry I don't know how to do links on app, but I found these sanitary towels on Amazon yesterday. My DD is petite and she says they are a lot more comfortable than normal sized ones. I have no idea why they are so cheap, apart from the not immediate delivery. Just in case anyone is buying to send.

Lil-Lets teens smartfit 14 petite pads with wings https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007HKJ53O/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_yxewCbHP4C0SQ

Okki · 04/02/2019 14:06

Ok just seen pricing is for orders over £20 😁.

Okki · 04/02/2019 21:12

How is everyone getting on. I'm on the last round of edge of first blanket that my Mum and I did together, so hopefully will be posting off this week.

All the blankets that have come in so far are lovely. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

I made up my own square which I'm rather pleased with. I hope I've not copied it subconsciously.

Okki · 04/02/2019 21:12

Not that it's amazing or anything Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/02/2019 21:28

It's beautiful Okki - indeed it's lekker

I'm always envious of you clever people who can combine colours so well. I'm getting better but I love seeing the colours on the Chernobs blankets.

bookbook · 04/02/2019 21:53

hello everyone !
The blankets are absolutely gorgeous
I am away atm , have been hooking the last seven squares I needed for my blanket . It will have to wait until I get home to join though :)
Mine are quite simple - just 4 colours, in grannies and circle to squares .
Okki thats a lovely colour combo and pattern!
( By the way, there is no way you are old enough for teenage children!!! Shock )

Hi, do the squares need to be blocked?

TwitterQueen1 · 04/02/2019 22:20

Oh nice Okki and bookbook
No thatwould, blocking is not required Smile

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 04/02/2019 23:26

Thanks TwitterQueen1 😙

Spindelina · 05/02/2019 08:07

I'm doing a stripy blanket. Here it is represented in ascii art (not to scale Grin):

plus a border. So I'm getting there! I've also been doing some granny squares in the near-dark while up with DS (we're night weaning - what fun!).

Okki · 05/02/2019 10:18

I like the colours book - nice and cheery. What colour will you join in or will that spoil the surprise? Thanks for the compliment, though I was horrified last week to discover that I am old enough to be my son's teacher's mother!

Thanks Woolly- though I can't claim I chose the colours. I just looked at Kinship spice and took colours off there. My colour creations look great in my head but not so much in reality 😂

Spin I'm really looking forward to seeing yours. That's the one you'd started at the meet up isn't it? Good luck with the night weaning.

Thatwould don't forget to show is your creations - I love seeing other people's colours and patterns.

TQ - what are you up to now?

bookbook · 05/02/2019 10:31

Joining in Emperor ( dark purple) to follow the rainbow theme Okki :) as I say, playing it safe!

TwitterQueen1 · 05/02/2019 11:07

I'm on another Candy's Hug because of the shortage over Christmas. It's a pretty uncoordinated one though - just really bright and colourful! Having spent so long on my 'fancy' one with lots of complicated patterns I fancied doing something more spontaneous!

A warm woolly welcome to C2019! Chernobs ahoy!
Okki · 05/02/2019 11:25

Those are lovely and colourful TQ. Have you got a link to the pattern for that ridged looking one? I really like that.

TwitterQueen1 · 05/02/2019 11:32

No pattern Okki but it's dead easy. It's alternating one DC with one front post DC. I start the usual way with ch4 then 3 doubles alternating 3 chains to get the square, then I start alternating. It takes more wool of course but I like the look..

Actually I've just found one - they call it mosaic ridge

Okki · 05/02/2019 20:12

Thanks. I shall have a go when I have a quiet (child freeGrin) hour.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 05/02/2019 20:43

Okki - will do, I love seeing knitting and crochet projects (I can while hours away in Ravelry projects)too. I'm heading off to woolwarehouse (armed with discount code) I may be some time and with considerably lighter pockets by midnight Grin

Spidelina, how do you crochet in poor lighting? Do you use those hooks with the wee lights? Would love to know if they're worth it!

TwitterQueen1 · 05/02/2019 22:07

Okki, forgot to say it's US DC, English treble....

MadisonAvenue · 05/02/2019 22:15

I've been doing quite a few of the mosaic ridge ones TQ, although I didn't realise that they had a name, I just saw someone's work on Facebook and they explained how to do it. It's so easy isn't it and they look lovely!

Your squares are beautiful! How are you feeling?

TwitterQueen1 · 05/02/2019 22:47

They do look good don't they?! Madison
The drug effects are beginning to make themselves known, which is not unexpected, just a nuisance. My arms feel as though they weigh double their normal weight and I've struggled a bit with my daily walk this week - I need to cut it down a bit, tx for asking. Smile
