@Catmint you are too kind Blush

MadisonAvenue · 20/01/2019 21:58

Goodness me, these are wonderful!

MeetOnTheledge · 24/01/2019 09:47

Marking my spot, I am about a quarter of the way through a whole blanket. Those are some beauties finished already Flowers

bookbook · 24/01/2019 14:57

I'm hooking as quick/often as I can, but life is just busy! On with #12 of 20 for my blanket .
Loving these blankets :)

DropZoneOne · 24/01/2019 21:17

Plonking myself on the sofa with hook in hand. Yarn arrived today, and all my other projects are ready for posting on Saturday, so will be starting on a blanket tomorrow.

Got a bit of catching up to do by the sounds of it!

diamantegal · 24/01/2019 21:41

Ooh, we're back

I've got 30 or so rows plus border of DS's horribly vibrant ripple to finish and then I'm all yours. Won't manage a whole blanket, but can definitely do some squares.

Stocked up on Stylecraft DK in the right colours this week and made six (6 inch) squares so far. Smile

Newbie questions: is it more helpful for the construction crew to send in squares in smaller batches when done, or does it make no difference to wait until closer to the deadline?

bookbook · 25/01/2019 18:52

viccat - I think its up to you in truth - any time to post up to the beginning of April gives some wiggle room . I tend to wait until I have a reasonable size parcel. If in UK , a small parcel, second class is £2.95 for up to 2kg, which is quite a lot ! . ( a whole blanket of 5 x 4 is usually anywhere from 1.5 kg to 1.8 kg and fits in the size nicely ) The dimensions of the parcel is 45cm x 35 cm x 16 cm . As I construct, and do other bits for WH , I tend to just send as and when , taking into consideration of any last post dates :)

Soup black cats are the way forward! Particularly good for contrasting against unnecessarily bright colours, although not too photogenic in themselves. My main problem is that when the blanket gets big enough, it appears to make a cosy bed, which stops me from finishing it - i need to set myself up to do Chernobyl squares when they're getting in the way!

I take it all back! Mine are just rubbish - everything disappears into a sea of darkness. They're ridiculously affectionate though, so I'll forgive them. But I'll send them round to yours for lessons - he/she is lovely!

Come on my beasts, step up to the challenge!

diamantegal · 25/01/2019 23:48

We tried again and this was the best they could manage... So I think we'll leave cat photos to Soup and I'll stick to the crochet Grin

@diamantegal - they've done a smashing job of posing you meany Mummy Grin.

They all look like very cuddly snuggly cats.

SoupDragon · 26/01/2019 11:57

To be fair, there are many other photos where you either have blackblob and proper background or a visible cat and washed out background :)

viccat · 27/01/2019 18:25

Ahh black cats, I adopted two black kittens last year. Here's one of them... (taking photos by windows seems to be the trick!)
