Thread 2! Woolly Hugs. Chernobyl 2018 is HERE!!!

You find us busily setting up a new home for our wonderful project. Will be making a special cosy corner for Soupy's poor blind cat - recently blinded by fiesta and her very bright blanket kit

As has been since the first year, this has been an astonishing team effort, folk never fail to amaze. THANK YOU! x

Our first project thread is here.... That was the one where we frantically made SQUARES and some folk made whole blankets, there was a lot of gin and the word characterful was used a lot

On the last thread we reached the dizzying heights of 64/100 absolutely gorgeous finished blankets, so here's hoping this thread sees us through to target...

Ooooo, and this will be the thread where we share the Early Bird 2019 info if anyone has been inspired or just wants to get ahead!

I've posted my completed blanket and my extra squares today.

I've got teeny bits of fondant, turquoise, lobelia and cloud blue if anyone wants them for yarn pegs. Possibly other colours but they're the ones I've used recently so I know I have them.

I'm another who's making them with lolly sticks

Wilko pegs for me! Although I started well and then got bored - you've reminded me I should really get back to it before I forget what colour all my scraps are.

I lost you all. Just found the thread and have loads to catch up on. I audited my stash this morning. I have 24 colours so decided to start making yarn pegs today. It's quite time consuming isn't it - needless to say I didn't get 24 pegs done .

I had a late night the other night as I had sudden inspiration for a whole blanket pattern, so had to map it on graph paper.

Oh dear - can anyone tell I may have been an accountant at some point 😂

I've finished my kit so will post tomorrow. Do you need any more squares as I can do a 12" tonight if so?

Good heavens, Okki! You do sound organised! How on earth do even start to "map it onto graph paper"?

That probably sounded a bit grander than it is tbh Jux. More drawing lines and colouring in with squiggles to represent stuff

I’ve never used cypress ormustard, but these are the other six, plus pistachio. Looks OK I think?

I bought SSDK pegs from stay last year £20 I think ftom polka dot giraffe, then added the 3 new ones when they came out.

I found it really helpful when choosing colours for Chernobyl, as I could move pegs around to decide what would go together.

I've decided against Lime in my blanket, it doesn't look right so I'm sticking with stripes of Tomato, Spice, Saffron and Pistachio.

You might want to protect poor Biscuits when you open my parcel - we wouldn’t want another poor blind cat.
