You find us busily setting up a new home for our wonderful project. Will be making a special cosy corner for Soupy's poor blind cat - recently blinded by fiesta and her very bright blanket kit Gin

As has been since the first year, this has been an astonishing team effort, folk never fail to amaze. THANK YOU! x

Our first project thread is here.... That was the one where we frantically made SQUARES and some folk made whole blankets, there was a lot of gin and the word characterful was used a lot Grin

On the last thread we reached the dizzying heights of 64/100 absolutely gorgeous finished blankets, so here's hoping this thread sees us through to target...

Ooooo, and this will be the thread where we share the Early Bird 2019 info if anyone has been inspired or just wants to get ahead! Thanks

The photo is from last year, tis the wonderful group who came to Portsmouth.

Cracking on then Grin

Violet sounds lovely. It wouldn't tip it into 'girl' colours territory (only from a Chernobs POV obviously)

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/06/2018 21:09

New pic with Violet and Silver added. I've got denim too so I'll see how it looks so far with the shades pictured and then possibly add the denim.

Woolly - is Silver in the colour palette ?

MadisonAvenue · 02/06/2018 21:44

Is this for a Chernobyl blanket Woolly? If so I was wondering the same as Book and it's not in there

Ah bugger! I was going from the post from K&P. No matter, I can use it in my plum, grape, grey blanket for meeeee.

SoupDragon · 03/06/2018 08:07

You might find that silver is permitted as part of a whole blanket. Given that the Oracle suggested it in the first place.

MadisonAvenue · 04/06/2018 11:23

I'm a quarter of the way there now with my 2019 blanket. 15" done 😂

bookbook · 04/06/2018 14:15

Madison Shock - how are you so organised and ahead !
I am plodding with a snugs, but very slowly , and with a rather tricky little beast of a Candys construction ( but I am on the border at long last ...) , but the allotment is manic atm Grin

MadisonAvenue · 04/06/2018 19:01

I had to make a start book as I'm such an awful procrastinator that if I left it a few months I'd then find a reason to leave it until after Christmas and I wasn't sure how long it would take 😂

KnottyAndPistey · 04/06/2018 19:32

Ah soz. I hadn’t twigged it was for a Chernob! But do go ahead as you’ve got and it sits so well. But don’t tell anyone Grin

Just delighted!

This is the Chernobyl project collection for Ayrshire and what beauties!

Such a glorious riot of colour and truly love in every stitch for the wonderful children who will receive these.

Enormous thanks to everyone, what you do is amazing. xxx

It’s funny, we take this pic every year around this time and sometimes the grass is completely yellow and dead looking. You can tell we’ve had lots of rain!

Ten girls visiting Ayrshire. Hope they love these!

I haven't used the Silver yet so it isn't a problem to keep it for my project. I'm going to do a stripe of everything I've got and then put another picture up - the thing that's bothering me is that it looks... rather muted compared to the lovely bright beauties up thread. I think it needs something bright to lift it please don't let Soupy suggest Fiesta. GrinGrin

Catmint · 04/06/2018 20:13

Hello you lovelies,

I've decided to stick to making things for the craft sales rather than doing squares, as I like to have the freedom to make different things. And I can't knit or crochet. I have one ball each of meadow, boysenberry and petrol, if anyone can make use of them?

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2018 20:26

Ooh Catmint they would probably fit in my palette and the Meadow and Boysenberry will help to brighten my blanket. Could I have them, please? Would you like anything in return?

Catmint · 04/06/2018 22:15

Woollybacks, you are very welcome. PM me your address and I will pop in the post.

I just would like to see a pic of squares you make with them, if that's okay?

So thrilled, Knotty and I are going to be handing out the Bristol children's collection to them in person!

The Ayrshire collection leaves here on Thursday. Then it will be the hoooooooge collection for Northamptonshire to sort - 20 girls, 10 boys!

Nothing wrong with a bit of a Fiesta...

KnottyAndPistey · 05/06/2018 08:22

I think there is room in the market for a Ford Fiesta in fiesta, that would get you noticed on the M25
