You find us busily setting up a new home for our wonderful project. Will be making a special cosy corner for Soupy's poor blind cat - recently blinded by fiesta and her very bright blanket kit Gin

As has been since the first year, this has been an astonishing team effort, folk never fail to amaze. THANK YOU! x

Our first project thread is here.... That was the one where we frantically made SQUARES and some folk made whole blankets, there was a lot of gin and the word characterful was used a lot Grin

On the last thread we reached the dizzying heights of 64/100 absolutely gorgeous finished blankets, so here's hoping this thread sees us through to target...

Ooooo, and this will be the thread where we share the Early Bird 2019 info if anyone has been inspired or just wants to get ahead! Thanks

The photo is from last year, tis the wonderful group who came to Portsmouth.

Cracking on then Grin

** We know more blankets are coming, we are just so thrilled. Once we know how many in total we are in the joyful position of finding more beautiful visiting ‘Chernobs’ children to receive. Every blanket will go to a child.

It’s just AMAZING!!

Totally overwhelmed this end by this year’s project and how awesome folk are. THANK YOU!!! x

Woohoo!!

Is that more than last year, I can't remember where you got to in the end?

I'm working on recruiting a pal for Chernob 2019!

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/05/2018 06:38

Amazing!

Hellooo @KnottyAndPistey

Now that the magic 100 has been reached and you've hopefully managed to relax with a gin or three, can I ask this q again?

I know black & white aren't the 2019 palette but thinking of boys and football, is it OK to use these colours as per the photo? My plan would be to do 12" squares - these 2 are only 6". Or would you prefer the football centres to be in the palette colours?

KnottyAndPistey · 01/06/2018 11:06

Can kind of see the wood for the trees, kind of! Got rowers descending again and DS birthday weekend ahoy, but yes, trees!

Twitter lovely, think it would be best to just stick to the palette if ok, still some dark colours - maybe lapis? Sorry to have taken so long!

We do have the possibility with the Chernobs for another group, in touch with one of the trustees who knows EVERYTHING happily for us!

We now need to see how many more then find the group, but there re plenty visiting late July through August, so it is all possible. We have just nudged the construction crew. One kit sadly did go awol, so frustrating sent a Candy's and a Chernob at the same time to the same lovely, just the Candy arrived :(

oh no K&P - can we help with anything ? you are Inundtated with stuff to do

  • did you get a volunteer for the one more construction? - You may not have had chance to see me volunteering :)
MadisonAvenue · 01/06/2018 12:32

Oh no, what a terrible shame...if you need more squares let us know.

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/06/2018 22:45

My WoolWarehouse order has arrived and I'm not sure of my colour choices Confused. These are the green shades plus Parchment and I like them but need another four or five shades to add. I've got various shades of blue/purple but they look too dark with the greens so I'm saving them for something else. What other colours can I add to this selection? Aspen, Spring Green? Anything else?

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/06/2018 22:47

The shades are:
Petrol
Duck Egg
Teal
Storm Blue
Parchment
Empire

and I think I was going to use the Attic24 cosy stripe pattern.

KnottyAndPistey · 02/06/2018 07:24

Am sitting here looking at DS’s blanket which is similar. He chose teal, petrol, denim, storm, sage, violet, silver. It’s lively, the violet lifts it. He wanted plum first but the violet sat better

KnottyAndPistey · 02/06/2018 07:25

Violet and silver?

bookbook · 02/06/2018 08:49

I'm going to be a subversive Woolly - how about a touch of red? something like claret or burgundy , with raspberry for a paler shade
