We were so very sorry to hear JuanPotatoTwo’s desperately sad news that her DH had passed away last month, he had renal failure. We are so very sorry for their loss and our thoughts are with her, their children and their family. We hope that this blanket will bring some comfort at such a devastating time, we were so glad they accepted our offer. Juan’s original thread is here… second here.. we see lots of you lovely folk are supporting her there, bless you.

We shall need crocheters, knitters and donors. If you would like to donate wool or funds, we shall need both and we can match you up. We take our ideas from a beautiful piece written by his daughter

• He was a keen rugby player, clearly enjoying much success before his illness started, playing for amongst others Leicester Tigers and England schools, so club and country, lots of rugby ideas there. Leicester colours are green, red and white, will attempt a link.
• They met at a pub called The Navy for anyone who can do writing.
• He had a red cable knit cardi he loved and wore endlessly, we do have an idea for these.
• He loved gardening and roses
• Cups of tea and lemon drizzle, and watching The Chase
• They have a cat
• And he once made Juan a Squirrel costume!

The troublesome square is a bit flatter. I think once it's in a blanket it will be under control.

Spiral - yep, forest - he's cute!

Well, I think that's a unanimous forest then...

I think the burnt orange does "pop" more on the darker green. Just wondering when I will be facing the wrath of K&P over the brown I used for his eyes and nose though!

I also wanted to say, that if any lurkers are intimidated by the amazing squares...please don't be! PLAIN SQUARES ARE NEEDED else it's too much. One plain square made with love is PERFECT 😊

The two are Book, the one with granny in the middle is loosely based on one in there but mostly my own creation.

Big Those squares are fabulous - I love the roses

Spiral, that's how I feel about my lemon drizzle. Your squirrel is clearly a squirrel; I am choosing to believe you lot (rather than DH and DD) that mine is clearly .

I'm doing a cardigan at the moment. Who knows what they'll think of that!

Now, what's going on with these squares - the buggers won't lie flat 😔 Is it something I'm doing wrong? I'm just hoping they'll behave themselves once they're in a blanket

Deffo a squirrel Spiral

I use a big Oxford English Dictionary Witch that seems to sort 'em . I think they will pull flat with others in truth !

Witch my squares are textured and seem really heavy. They aren't anywhere near as pretty as all these squares but they will act as good ballast!

I hope so Book, as I really want them to be perfect. Hopefully yours will get mine under control then Wolfie!

I have very few talents in knitting but forcing things to be flat. OR ELSE! Is one of them!
