We are afraid we bring very sad news. Daffyduck1’s beloved husband died recently, he had been suffering from cancer. Such devastating news, we are so sorry that life has been so cruel. Our love and thoughts are with her, their beautiful children and family. Love and strength to them all X

We have offered to make Daffy a blanket to show our love and support and to offer what comfort we can, and we are delighted to say she has accepted.

So we are asking for help once again Sad Thanks

We will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) please post on this thread and PM with your offers too.

Thank you so much Thanks

WhycantI That is brilliant!

(Knotty and Pistey, please don't put my efforts anywhere near such stunning perfection)

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 07/06/2016 18:21

Marci.
Your elephants are brilliant!

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 07/06/2016 19:45

I would love to be able to make an elephant like those...

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 07/06/2016 19:46

Is there anything else not covered so far?
I like a challenge...

Or I can do a couple of plain squares?

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 07/06/2016 19:49

I love Marci s tree too.
Losing track of which pictures are for which hug...

Marcipex · 07/06/2016 22:58

You're very kind WhyCantI

DGD (age 3) (no longer my favourite) thought the cat was a squirrel...

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 08/06/2016 14:24

My dd (also 3) would love me to make her an elephant blanket.

She has no chance...

And several knitted ones.

But I am now reading the magazine and will be attempting a granny square keyring...

Afternoon Brew

Thanks all, WhyCant - not heard of anyone making a birthday cake, map, lightning... any of those appeal?

OP posts:
WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 09/06/2016 10:38

Lightning will be easy.
Would it be OK as yellow flash on green-lit-up sky?

Cake is also easy. That would probably be yellow cake on a green background, with red candle?

Map will be harder. I will have to think about a map! I will sort something for a map. I likes a challenge.

Marcipex · 09/06/2016 13:15
WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 09/06/2016 15:02

Give us a chance Marci!

It may not be possible on 33x42 stitches. ..

I'm thinking of a little section of a map.
Mostly green for grass. A bit of blue for some water. Yellow for either sand or path.

And embroidered details afterwards

Or maybe trying to find the shape of a lake from either lake district or Yorkshire.

daffy
Do you have a favourite lake?

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 09/06/2016 15:09

I just found this on Google.

The lakes would probably be 3 or 4 stitches each. So not very detailed.

What do you think,

Daffy?
Knots?
Piste?
Marci?

Would it work?

Or too much info for a small square?
I wouldn't be naming them!

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 09/06/2016 15:51

3rd time lucky?

I can't believe that you can entertain even thinking about this!

Not naming? What is wrong with you?

Honestly I think it is wonderful, if you can create something which symbolises maps and the family look at it and recall lovely memories of their DH and Dad, then it will just be magic, bless you. xxx
