We are afraid we bring very sad news. Daffyduck1’s beloved husband died recently, he had been suffering from cancer. Such devastating news, we are so sorry that life has been so cruel. Our love and thoughts are with her, their beautiful children and family. Love and strength to them all X

We have offered to make Daffy a blanket to show our love and support and to offer what comfort we can, and we are delighted to say she has accepted.

So we are asking for help once again Sad Thanks

We will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) please post on this thread and PM with your offers too.

Thank you so much Thanks

Q1:
Looking through my stash I've found these two browns Sublime shade 0341 and Debbie Bliss shade 23005 . If I used them as the centre of a sunflower (either or both?) with the Drops 24 (also shown in the top row) as petals I think that would look lovely.
What do you think, can I use those brown shades?

Q2: Middle of bottom row is a shade I can't identify, it's a greyish silvery colour I've been sent before, probably Debbie Bliss, is it ok to use, please?
Either side of it are Debbie Bliss 44 (Aqua) and 19 (Duck Egg)

Thanks lovely

I'd say go for the lighter brown for your centre, and the silver is fab, could well be DB

Thank you xxx

Thanks, will do!

In the meantime I couldn't help myself and made this one to try out the pattern (very easy free pattern from Pinterest, happy to pass it on of anyone wants it)
Looks lovely and will be put to good use elsewhere - will use lighter brown for Daffy

Just checking if you saw my pm for this one as well as William's hug? Let me know if you need initials, otherwise there are tons of themes here I can base some squares on xx

Sheeba
Is that knit or crochet?

Report
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/05/2016 21:48

Why

It's crochet. But I take back the "easy pattern" assessment.
Actually the pattern is easy, but as soon as I started adding the granny square base the petals started curling up and it's just not looking good enough

Report
AmaDablam · 21/05/2016 08:37

zing the sunflower is lovely, seems a shame not to use it. Could you not make a separate granny square (or any plain crochet) and appliqué it on? I often find that works better with more complex motifs than trying to do it as an integrated square.
