We have heard the desperately sad news that ImpatientWino’s precious baby son William was stillborn, such a devastating loss, there are no words. We send them all our love and are so sorry. We are keeping their family close in our thoughts. Bless their hearts, her thread is here should anyone wish to post a message. Thanks

We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted. ImpatientWino is very touched by everyone's kindness, we will make something very beautiful for William, for them all.

We shall need crocheters, knitters and donors. If you would like to donate wool or funds, we can match you up. If you would like to join in but need donated wool, we can help there too.
Please PM with your offers of help. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Ideas for squares
Daffodils are very significant, so daffodil designs, or embellishments on squares would be brilliant. She says she can’t see one without thinking of him.
Any other flowers too
Trees
Their first son loves animals, so these would be fabulous for him.
Hearts
We have the family’s initials if anyone would like to take these on. They would also love to have the initials of their amazing midwives as a tribute. Star

Simple or complex, made by beginner or experienced, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

There is support for buying colours on our website, here. Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Previous blankets can be seen on our website If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

We also have a Facebook page Woolly Hugs and are on Twitter @Woolly_Hugs

When ready for posting, please PM for info. As always, we thank you so much for your support,

So sad that another blanket is needed. ImpatientWino, we are thinking of William, you and you family and sending our love.

And thanks Pistey, will do, as soon as it arrives! (Ordered yesterday)

Did you guys know there's a 10% off code for Wool Warehouse?
I'm pretty sure it's SC23, if not, just Google the discount code

KnittingPearl · 25/05/2016 17:47

Wool arrived yesterday, and halfway through the footprint square now - spreading the news of Woolly Hugs in the staff room at lunchtime. Many thanks to all donors.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 25/05/2016 19:52

My square isn't very exciting, zing.
4 initials. Green on yellow.
Am I allowed to put a photo up with initials ?

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 25/05/2016 19:54

But it is nice!

Does the older child like dinosaurs?

I have a very sweet Dino pattern.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/05/2016 20:15

Why

I'm guessing you want P&K to answer that about initials, but I'd say that as final blankets are public on Internet with all the squares shown eventually I don't see why not.
But that's just me pretending I can do logic Grin

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 25/05/2016 20:17

I am guessing it won't make much difference. I was asked to do 4 letters. I have no idea who owns or uses these letters.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 25/05/2016 20:19

I will give K&P a few minutes, just in case... there might be a reason not to.

When I get home and plug phone in, if they say it's OK, I will post it.
Down to 5_% battery now.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/05/2016 20:19

I wouldn't want you to feel pressured. Just being nosy... Smile

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 25/05/2016 20:20

Nosy is fine.
As long as I don't upset people.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/05/2016 20:21

Agreed Smile

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 09:58

I have finished 66 peskies Grin

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 10:16

Ahhhhhhhh

KnottyAndPistey · 26/05/2016 11:05

Helloooooo

Brew

No problem with you showing the square with the initials on, there is no context you see, so not a problem, and folk will see it at the end in the pics. Thank you for doing them. And all the peskiness! xx

I PM'd you Knotty about where to send my squares. Off on holiday tomorrow so I can send tomorrow or next week.

I'm a novice so my squares are quite plain. Hope they're okay Smile

regularbutpanickingabit · 26/05/2016 11:29

HI Knotty. As always, can't offer knitting but happy to pay a donation towards wool etc if that would still help? Will pm

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 11:54

In that case, I will take a pic later
Not got it with me today.
I thought it was in "the knitting bag" but I think I took it out as it was finished.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 19:07

Here you go, zing.
If it loads...

Oh wow and wow again! That looks just brilliant! !!
Thank you for satisfying my curiosity. You are very talented!

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 20:06

I'll take the thanks.
I'll take ghetto compliment.
Curtsey is a bit OTT!

I like to think I am "reasonable "

There are people on here who make some absolutely stunning things.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 20:07

Hope V,B, R&C are happy with it.

Ghetto?

I guess my knitting is better than my typing Sad

Impatientwino · 26/05/2016 21:58

Oh my goodness, I'm sitting here in tears at your beautiful square why

VB and RC are the two amazing midwives who have supported me through this horrific experience. RC delivered William and VB is the specialist midwife who has looked after me from the day we found out we had died, through my week of induction and up until today and beyond with such kindness and compassion. They are both incredible women and mean the world to me. I'd do anything for them.

I cannot tell you all how deeply I am touched and how much receiving this blanket means to me, I don't know if it's appropriate for me to post here but I couldn't not having seen the many many lovely posts and generosity on here. My heart swells on such a sad day. Today we interred Williams ashes and laid him to rest finally. Today was just awful, the most awful of days since his funeral at the end of March and finding this thread and reading your messages has made it better.

I sincerely thank you all for your most appreciated woolly hug xxx

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/05/2016 22:07

In the most light hearted way, consider that as payback for the tears I she'd for William.

For a baby I had never heard of. Was never likely to meet.

But something about your post seemed to be saying there was no reason for him to have died. No reason for us to be making squares for you.

I have no idea why I assumed that.

But I look at my two. And the chaos they cause me. And I know my heart would break if they weren't here.

I cannot imagine your pain. I can't even try.
It is just wrong for children to die before their parents. That's not how it works!

Anyway, does your older son like dinosaurs?
I have a very cute Dino picture that will fit on a square.
I was going to get ds to draw some animals, but he needs to finish his homework first!
