We have heard the desperately sad news that ImpatientWino’s precious baby son William was stillborn, such a devastating loss, there are no words. We send them all our love and are so sorry. We are keeping their family close in our thoughts. Bless their hearts, her thread is here should anyone wish to post a message. Thanks

We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted. ImpatientWino is very touched by everyone's kindness, we will make something very beautiful for William, for them all.

We shall need crocheters, knitters and donors. If you would like to donate wool or funds, we can match you up. If you would like to join in but need donated wool, we can help there too.
Please PM with your offers of help. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Ideas for squares
Daffodils are very significant, so daffodil designs, or embellishments on squares would be brilliant. She says she can’t see one without thinking of him.
Any other flowers too
Trees
Their first son loves animals, so these would be fabulous for him.
Hearts
We have the family’s initials if anyone would like to take these on. They would also love to have the initials of their amazing midwives as a tribute. Star

Simple or complex, made by beginner or experienced, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

There is support for buying colours on our website, here. Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Previous blankets can be seen on our website If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

We also have a Facebook page Woolly Hugs and are on Twitter @Woolly_Hugs

When ready for posting, please PM for info. As always, we thank you so much for your support,

So sad that another blanket is needed. ImpatientWino, we are thinking of William, you and you family and sending our love.

Thank you Thanks

“I'm so very touched to be receiving one. The ladies of mumsnet continue to amaze me.” IW x

Knitting pearl.
Looks like it's not just me failing with pm then!

I have experienced her loss. Mumsnet was fantastic for me at the time, offering so much more support than I ever got in real life.

Anyway! I would like to make a few squares. So I just PM you when they're done?

Thanks.

Posted 22 parcels of yarn yesterday, and 5 went straight to crafters from Wool Warehouse, so hoping to hear about wool arrivals soon. Please post on here when it does, our lovely donors of funds need to see their generous donations arriving safely. Huge thanks to them once again. Thanks

Apologies, it will be quiet in here from us over this weekend, although will try to pop in. But do keep PMing - will catch up asap, and all still very welcome to join.

Thank you Thanks

I bought my wool yesterday and it arrived today.

This probably seems a stupid question but can I mix colours together in a square?

jetSTAR · 21/05/2016 11:14

Hi, I will help. Have just ordered
Drops Merino Extra Fine - Light Grey Blue (19) & Light Yellow (24)

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/05/2016 14:57

Flambola you can mix colours, any combinations you like! The most I used in 1 square (for baby Rumer) was 13 I think.

Ginxed

Yourr daff on light grey blue will look gorgeous!

BlueyDragon · 21/05/2016 18:35

I'll do a square. A friend has been through this and the sadness and pain is unimaginable. With hugs for ImpatientWino and her family.
