yegodsandlittlefishes · 07/03/2014 21:24

Zing! Hows you? :)

yegodsandlittlefishes · 07/03/2014 21:26

Mhw, there's time to crochet one in chunky yarn! Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/03/2014 07:40

We do love you Zing and you are a proper Blanketeer with a heart of GOLD, so you are very welcome.

Brew

I have bread in the oven. (Yes, real bread, not a euphemism.) I don't think it worked very well. It could be because I missed out the salt. I've just read that the salt reacts with the yeast and it is needed for the whole dough to bread process to work.

I think I'll stick to yarn. Can't go wrong with a ball of dk merino in a soft shade. Such a shame we can't eat it for breakfast!

ZingSweetMango · 09/03/2014 09:38

thanks Pistey! [chuffed]

I do x-stich and crochet, but my main thing is patchwork.
I'm making a blanket for DD right now out of 1" hexagons and also in the middle of preparing an I spy quilt for kids out of 5.5" hexagons. and have about half a million other projects started or planned in my head!

loving the breakfast photo - I think it is called Amigurumi.

yego

doing ok, thanks. booked a 4D scan for mid April - very excited about it!
(for those who don't know me: I'm pg with #7, baby's due mid-July)

watchingout · 09/03/2014 17:28

Oo I'd love to do patchwork. I did some when I was a girl but that was a good few years ago. What's an I spy quilt?

ZingSweetMango · 09/03/2014 21:11

you know the game "I spy with my little eye.."

so an I spy quilt is when you choose lots of fabrics with novelty/children's patterns (I have literally hundreds of different ones!) so you can play the game looking at the quilt.

the one I'm making will have a patch of each pattern - things like strawberries, bees, flip-flops, puppies, letters, numbers, peas, umbrellas, crocodiles, cupcakes, lions and so on.

I hope to finish it by Christmas!

Morning Brew

Waiting for my new washing machine, due here between 8 and 1. What chance it will arrive at 12.55?

yegodsandlittlefishes · 11/03/2014 09:15

If you're running a book, my money's on 12.52 just when you think youve got time to nip to the loo.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/03/2014 09:32

That will be the time!

9.32 and not here yet Sad

ZingSweetMango · 11/03/2014 13:19

has it arrived yet?

I'm thinking 18.17 is very likely! Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/03/2014 16:02

Bloody thing arrived at about 2.45pm, so well within the 8am to 1pm slot Hmm

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/03/2014 16:03

However, it is now plumbed in and doing a pre use wash.

Then I will need to tackle Laundry Mountain

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 01:15

maybe they meant 8am to 1am? Wink

glad it's there though.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/03/2014 14:33

Me too. 'Twas getting ridiculous!!

Beautiful day here today after a very foggy start. I was inspired to buy this for my garden. Tis ZINGY!!

The Woolly Hugs Woolly Pack is now open!
ZingSweetMango · 13/03/2014 14:57

Can't see photos on phone - will look later on PC

same weather here, so beautiful now - if you live very near your Woolly Hugs address then we are almost neighbours!

I'm working on my mini hexie quilt.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 13/03/2014 15:04

Oh, lovely colour! What plant is that, Pistey?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2014 09:53

Tis a senetti The colours are electric, proper wow stuff. Love it!

yegodsandlittlefishes · 15/03/2014 11:55

I like it too - in the garden! I like very muted decor inside, and it's great to see that kind of zingy splash of colour in the garden. We have mainly shrubbery so I am on the look out for flowering plants.

ZingSweetMango · 15/03/2014 23:56

nice photo and great colour!

I bought some buckets of "grow your own" strawberries and sunflowers today from Tesco.

I have never done any gardening, but at the prospect of moving to a house with a bigger garden I finally caught the greenfingers bug!
We don't know when we are moving yet, but obviously I don't want to make any effort in our current garden, but I'm getting quite frustrated that I can't do anything.

I just have this urge to plant something - so buckets of stuff is perfect as we can take those with us.

TrinityRhino · 23/03/2014 12:09

I'm bursting with excitement
I've decided on my first personal project

I'm going to crochet a Granny stripe blanket for my mum.
She is in a home now.
I've almost completely lost her to Alzheimers now.
When I was a kid she knitted a blanket each for me and my sister.
She has always loved a blanket, always felt the cold.
It just feels right that my first personal project be for her.

ZingSweetCoconut · 23/03/2014 17:57

Trin

that's lovely, and such a nice idea to "give back" as well

what colours have you chosen?

yegodsandlittlefishes · 23/03/2014 18:31

Trinity, how lovely! :D Please post photos.

TrinityRhino · 24/03/2014 17:20
