Support thread for Woolly Hugs - summer (sort of) 2013

Our sympathies and thoughts are with daisydotandgertie, who lost her husband this month.

Woolly Hugs is now in action and this is the support and chat thread at which all are welcome - knitters, crocheters and donors. If you are a first time crafter please do have a go. There is bags of support and plain squares are just as important to our endeavour as fancy ones.

As flowers was one of the requested motifs, I'll just note there's a flowers section in the crafting guide. I might try the posies pattern on this sock pattern. For Welsh (or at least Celtic) patterns, I did this for a previous blanket.

Yikes, when do you all get time for crafting?! I've had my wool for a couple of days now and haven't even started .

During the day, DD is surgically attached to my hip and once the DCs are in bed, I eat and then fall asleep .

I know you do chum :) just don't worry about it. You have plenty of time. (Plus pistey is a soft touch and will sometimes accept late entries if you get a note from your mum!)

Ok then. I'll do a few blue and a few light purple ones. I don't have any pink as the shade that looked pink in the shop looks red at home and I know you're funny about which red is allowed.

yay! managed to finish the second one but then realised I'd run out of brown paper so have instructed/ordered DH to buy some today and I will post tomorrow.
Am wondering if I take my knitting on my charity trek next week? Will have hours to kill at airports and on flights but not sure how much I'd get done whilst there.

I've done a 3D flower square and am 3/4 of way through a friendship knot square and suddenly got worried in case it wasn't the sort of thing that is wanted. Shall I finish and send it anyway and you can use it in another project if it's not the right thing?!?
