A Blanket for My5boysandme. Sign up thread for crafters and donors. Can you help us?

With heavy hearts we bring the desperately sad news that My5boysandme has lost her precious baby son Dexter. We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted. My5boysandme sends thanks to all and is very touched by everyone's kindness and compassion. Here is her original thread

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

If you would like to help in anyway, please post on this thread but also PM me so we know. If you are able to donate, I can match you up with a crafter, or give you our donating information. I will co ordinate, match and deal with any admin. Knotty is here to answer any questions you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks once again

As in the past, for consistency, the wools we are using are:

• Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
• Rowan Cashsoft DK
• Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
• Artesano Superwash Merino DK

4mm knitting needles or hooks
6" squares, as simple or as complex as you like.

The Colours
Greens, blues, silvers, dark/warm purple and cream.
If choosing cream, we ask that you go for the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013

Thanks all.
Isabel is doing great. Was awake every 2 hours through the night for feeds but, like a Trooper, DH got up and dealt with them all (fyi I can't bf due to medical reasons). Big Sister Felicia keeps stroking her hair and coming onto the couch for cuddles with her.

Hows the blanket coming along? Can't wait to see the result of all our crafty work.

Twill be a while, Skoggy, I'm now out of action re construction so all blankets are falling to Knotty and Pistey... Working around real life, i would say there's at least a couple of months between deadline and handover - i would estimate 30-40 hours work constructing and edging each blanket.

It is not, however, such a pleasure to look at the square I attempted!
It has 3 sides which represent part of a square and the the fourth...well, the less said the better! Not sure what I did other than try to be more adventurous & obviously not concentrate hard enough Safer to donate this time I feel!
