With heavy hearts we bring the desperately sad news that My5boysandme has lost her precious baby son Dexter. We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted. My5boysandme sends thanks to all and is very touched by everyone's kindness and compassion. Here is her original thread Sad

We send My5boysandme all our love and are so sorry for her loss. We are keeping her family close in our thoughts. X

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

If you would like to help in anyway, please post on this thread but also PM me so we know. If you are able to donate, I can match you up with a crafter, or give you our donating information. I will co ordinate, match and deal with any admin. Knotty is here to answer any questions you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks once again Thanks

As in the past, for consistency, the wools we are using are:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
  • Rowan Cashsoft DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK

4mm knitting needles or hooks
6" squares, as simple or as complex as you like.

The Colours
Greens, blues, silvers, dark/warm purple and cream.
If choosing cream, we ask that you go for the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013

Here is our website Do use the Crafting Guide on it to help you with practical info, and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for squares.

Previous blankets can also be seen on the website. We also have a Facebook page: MNWoollyHugs and are on Twitter @MNWoollyHugs. If you 'like' our FB page then you will get all our updates on our progress via your newsfeed.

So sad that another blanket is needed. Sending much love to My5boysandme and her family, and thinking of baby Dexter.

Oh Skoggy! I was wondering how you were getting on. Hope it won't be too much longer for you. Have some Biscuit and rest as much as you can

BarbaraWoodlouse · 07/11/2012 20:03

Biscuit and Brew for you now Skoggy.
Wine waiting post delivery.

GlaikitFizzog · 07/11/2012 20:20

Skoggy I went 14 days late with ds and had spd. But if it helps as soon as he was born the pain went. It was amazing how quickly it disappeared.

I also had reflexology and that really helped manage my pain towards the end. Although her promises of it kick starting labour were big fat lies!! Hope you don't have to wait too long to meet him or her!

When my hips were really painful I folded a spare double duvet in half and laid it on my bed underneath the fitted sheet iykwim. It made the bed that little bit softer which I found helped. Maybe worth a try? I hope something happens tonight for you.
