When we offered to make some Little Hugs for Yorkhill Hospital, we also talked to them about their Christmas Fundraiser.
As part of our support, we offered to help by making some little things that could be sold on a craft stall to help raise funds for the hospital.

So here we are, asking you if you could help in anyway.
If you could make one small thing, we would be so grateful.

We have an idea of the types of things that have been popular in the past and have a few idea of our own such as:

Little hats
Little cardis
Christmas Decorations
Little bags and purses
Christmas stockings
Bunting
Knitted or crocheted softies
Brooches
Cotton washcloths
Napkins
Coasters
Stocking fillers

Although it is a Christmas event, the goodies needn't necessarily be Christmassy.

Any other suggestions are welcomed with open arms

If you have any patterns or links that would help to inspire others we'd be grateful for those too.

We have a Last Posting date of 17th November so that we can ensure that all the goodies arrive in time for the Christmas event.

As always, thank you so much for your support.

Thanks

GlaikitFizzog · 05/10/2012 19:01

Mirage · 05/10/2012 19:10

I can't knit or crochet, but can make jewellery and beaded baubles.I'll try and post a photo and you can tell me if they are suitable.

KnottyLocks · 05/10/2012 19:11

Can't see if any threads are broken. Are they?

OP posts:
KnottyLocks · 05/10/2012 19:11

Mirage, anything like that would be very lovely Smile

KnottyLocks · 05/10/2012 19:13

Fizzy, if no threads are broken, try gently easing the stitches back into place .

GlaikitFizzog · 05/10/2012 19:14

no I don't think so. just ruddy big gaps

KnottyLocks · 05/10/2012 19:20

I think a bit of wiggle work will sort it Smile

If you don't fancy having a bash yourself, send it to me and I'll sort it out.

Soupy I can do six refuge squares instead of four if that helps you out.

GlaikitFizzog · 05/10/2012 22:10

Wiggling worked knotty, was a bit panicked though for a minute!

KnottyLocks · 05/10/2012 23:12

All hail the wiggle! Grin

SoupDragon · 06/10/2012 07:35

Somersaults, do as many squares as you feel able to :)

IIRC we were going to get more than enough for one blanket but not enough for 2. I was planning to bulk them out with a number of plain squares.

I spent yesterday buying and stripping an oak cupboard FFS Hmm I need to focus and not get distracted!

KnottyLocks · 06/10/2012 07:53

Soupy, can I help to Distract you by letting you paint my bathroom? [selfless]

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 06/10/2012 08:17

Well, I'm in the middle of painting my hall/stairs/landing but I'm sure I can fit you in :o

KnottyLocks · 06/10/2012 08:24

Marking my place. Would like to help with this or the Little Hugs one but haven't had a chance to read the mammoth threads yet so don't want to wade in with offers that are irrelevant nor offer more than I can deliver!

Can't think how I missed them before Confused

OTOH I have been avoiding arts and crafts after being recognised in RL Shock

Somersaults · 06/10/2012 11:30

Well I've done one each of three different colour ways so I'll do a second of each and then send all six. Then I'll get back to my little hug. Then once that's done DD might finally get a new cardigan! Poor child is wearing cardis that look like they should be boleros with 3/4 length sleeves because she's grown so much in the last month or so not to mention most of them are 3-6month size and she's almost a year old now.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/10/2012 11:36

BBB - No offers are ever irrelevant Smile and thank you so much.

We would love help with either, so really it's which you feel you have time for. Making things for the craft stall for Yorkhill is a short term project posting by Nov 17th, and the Little Hug project is ongoing, so if you made one in four months time that would be equally as lovely as if you made one now. I don't know if that helps you at all!

rubycon · 06/10/2012 11:50

have you received my parcel yet? Only asking as RM seem to have lost 1m of flue pipe I sent back to the suppliers over a week ago - seems that was £15.80 wasted on postage, not to mention the extortionate cost of the pipe - into battle with that one Angry
