When we offered to make some Little Hugs for Yorkhill Hospital, we also talked to them about their Christmas Fundraiser.
As part of our support, we offered to help by making some little things that could be sold on a craft stall to help raise funds for the hospital.

So here we are, asking you if you could help in anyway.
If you could make one small thing, we would be so grateful.

We have an idea of the types of things that have been popular in the past and have a few idea of our own such as:

Little hats
Little cardis
Christmas Decorations
Little bags and purses
Christmas stockings
Bunting
Knitted or crocheted softies
Brooches
Cotton washcloths
Napkins
Coasters
Stocking fillers

Although it is a Christmas event, the goodies needn't necessarily be Christmassy.

Any other suggestions are welcomed with open arms

If you have any patterns or links that would help to inspire others we'd be grateful for those too.

We have a Last Posting date of 17th November so that we can ensure that all the goodies arrive in time for the Christmas event.

As always, thank you so much for your support.

Thanks

I haven't had a chance to make them yet but they look pretty simple and quick!

I'd love to learn to knit too. Maybe someone in the Glasgow area could teach both Expat and myself

GlaikitFizzog · 06/10/2012 15:32

Fled we are planning another Glasgow meet up at the end of October this is the thread for the last one but there will be a new thread. Keep an eye out. I'm still learning but there are others ther who would turn you into a knitter in no time! And there's cake!!

fledtoscotland · 06/10/2012 16:05

Glaikit (love the name btw) sound great. End of October fairly hectic as off to New York without DH and boys and with best mate for a whole week on the 1st November. I so want to knit. Have donated wool via pistey so maybe it's my time to start to make the squares Confused

GlaikitFizzog · 06/10/2012 18:29

I think we are going to try to have one every month so if you can't manage October, I'm sure there will be another one.

There are a couple of pics on my profile now.I can send them with the baubles in a big box,but a selling point is that they can be slipped off for easy [and cheap] postage, and sent on their own.If they are ok,let me know how many you'd like-I can knock them out at a great rate of knots.Smile

KnottyLocks · 07/10/2012 20:39

Hello, Mirage Smile

They are very pretty, so yes please Grin Thank you!

No idea about number. I think maybe if you sent some with baubles then people will know what they are for IYSWIM. Maybe some loose ones with them?
My only concern is that the baubles would need to be robust so they don't break in transit.

OP posts:
Mirage · 07/10/2012 21:30

Thank you.The baubles are all plastic and very tough,so should be ok if I use a sturdy box.Where do I send them too?

KnottyLocks · 07/10/2012 22:10

We'll PM you the details. Many Thanks

Im thinking of making these, what do you ladies think? Would they be ok for the stall? Recycled plastic bag crocheted coasters

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2012 09:34

Those are lovely fan! Yes, definitely go for it, thank you. What a fab way to recycle, really clever idea, love them. Thanks

fanjodisfunction · 08/10/2012 09:37

good I will get out the plastic bags, (maybe not the sainsburys orange ones? Hmm ) asda and morrisons it is!

PurpleFrog · 08/10/2012 10:12

fanjodisfunction - just make sure you don't use any of the Tesco, or any other brand of, biodegradable ones as they disintegrate after a couple of years. (Speaking from bitter experience... I now have a loft full of confetti!)

fanjodisfunction · 08/10/2012 10:25

oh thanks purplefrog
