When we offered to make some Little Hugs for Yorkhill Hospital, we also talked to them about their Christmas Fundraiser.
As part of our support, we offered to help by making some little things that could be sold on a craft stall to help raise funds for the hospital.

So here we are, asking you if you could help in anyway.
If you could make one small thing, we would be so grateful.

We have an idea of the types of things that have been popular in the past and have a few idea of our own such as:

Little hats
Little cardis
Christmas Decorations
Little bags and purses
Christmas stockings
Bunting
Knitted or crocheted softies
Brooches
Cotton washcloths
Napkins
Coasters
Stocking fillers

Although it is a Christmas event, the goodies needn't necessarily be Christmassy.

Any other suggestions are welcomed with open arms

If you have any patterns or links that would help to inspire others we'd be grateful for those too.

We have a Last Posting date of 17th November so that we can ensure that all the goodies arrive in time for the Christmas event.

As always, thank you so much for your support.

Thanks

sweetkitty · 02/10/2012 22:07

Expat - its no hard if I can do it

SoupDragon · 02/10/2012 22:08

No... come join Team Hooker and crochet instead :)

SoupDragon · 02/10/2012 22:10

Crocheted Candy Canes are easy and effective. I've made these in sets of 6 and put them in a jar as presents for people before.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/10/2012 22:12

Kitty - ill PM you but think it might have to be tomorrow. PMs are playing silly buggers at the mo.

Lovely to see you expat Smile. I'm with Soupy on the crochet, but have a look on YouTube. Or maybe we can rally a MNetter near you to give you a lesson?!

GlaikitFizzog · 02/10/2012 22:13

Ok, I have a 4mm hook and I'm not afraid to use it. Can someone link me to a very easy to follow idiot proof video. I want to crochet! And knit, the two can co-exist!

cat · 02/10/2012 22:14

Waves to Knotty

Expat - I'm a wooly-virgin too. I'll look for an idiot-proof guide to get us going. Then I'll try and match you wonky-square for wonky-square Grin

PurplePidjin · 02/10/2012 22:16

Team Hooker is the way to go - small stuffed things are far easier in crochet, and you can look all posh by calling it amigurumi!

sweetkitty · 02/10/2012 22:17

I'd love to learn to crochet.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/10/2012 22:26

I have, in the past, made crochet flower brooches, to a pattern I bodged made up myself - I make a small, medium and large flower, stack em and put a nice old button in the centre. I am sure I have got more brooch pins somewhere, and I'd be happy to make some more for Yorkhill. I might also have some home made candles in jars, but as those are a bit heavy for me to post, it would be easier if I could drop them off directly to the hospital - would that be Ok, do you think, Knotty?

GreySquirrel · 02/10/2012 22:30

I would like to help if I can. Could make some sort of softie maybe?

Made one of these for nephew they are quite cute and very easy
