We have heard the desperately sad news that 3girlies daughter Flora has lost her battle against a brain tumour, she was 6 years old. 3girlies' thread is here

We send 3girlies our love and are so sorry for her loss. She and her family are in our hearts and thoughts X

We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted.

So we are calling out for knitters, crocheters and donors. Can you help us?

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread, and also PM me so we know. I will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with any admin. We now have Paypal to make donating easier for all. So please PM if you would like to join us, or if I can help match you. Knotty will try to answer any queries you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks. Thanks

Once again the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cash)
  • Rowan Cashsoft DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK

    The Colours
Pinks, warm purple, greens, blues, silver, cream
If choosing cream we ask that you go for the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013

    Themes
Flowers please, also initials F, P and L.

    4mm needles or hook.

Do use the crafting guide on the website to help you with lots of practical info, and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for squares.

Previous blankets can be seen on the Woolly Hugs website and we are on Facebook and Twitter at MNWoollyHugs which are good ways to keep in touch.

But once again, we thank you so much for your support X Thanks

Now that it is in the post, I can now admit that I temporarily lost my squares Blush

Found them in amongst some rugby stuff. I'd forgotten I'd taken them along to the club to show them off because a couple of the other mums had asked to see them.

Sorry! Blush

I'm so glad they arrived, I was a bit hasty with checking the address and was becoming convinced I'd got it wrong.

Thanks so much to my donor Thanks Thanks I always think it is very kind to anonymously send wool, and you picked a great colour Smile

Good luck to the assemblers and best wishes to 3girlies.

You are right moth, it is such a kind thing to do, our donors are Blanketeers with hearts of gold and as much a vital part of the process as those who knit and crochet. Tis proper team work. We honestly couldn't manage without them, the blanket projects just wouldn't happen. And you are right, it was a great colour! Thanks

I know the granny square is a bit too small, sorry. But it is the second thing I have ever crocheted in my life so I thought one of you might kindly make it a bit bigger for me Blush

Too small is definitely easier to fix than too big :)

Pistey i sent over two cards, one for 3girlies and one for mumof2, they should have arrived yesterday in a brown envelope.

Apologies, i meant to pop in a little note for you to say thank you, but i forgot it!

So Thanks for giving me the opportunity to let them know they are in my thoughts.
