We have heard the desperately sad news that 3girlies daughter Flora has lost her battle against a brain tumour, she was 6 years old. 3girlies' thread is here

We send 3girlies our love and are so sorry for her loss. She and her family are in our hearts and thoughts X

We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted.

So we are calling out for knitters, crocheters and donors. Can you help us?

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread, and also PM me so we know. I will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with any admin. We now have Paypal to make donating easier for all. So please PM if you would like to join us, or if I can help match you. Knotty will try to answer any queries you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks. Thanks

Once again the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cash)
  • Rowan Cashsoft DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK

The Colours
Pinks, warm purple, greens, blues, silver, cream
If choosing cream we ask that you go for the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013

Themes
Flowers please, also initials F, P and L.

4mm needles or hook.

Do use the crafting guide on the website to help you with lots of practical info, and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for squares.

Previous blankets can be seen on the Woolly Hugs website and we are on Facebook and Twitter at MNWoollyHugs which are good ways to keep in touch.

But once again, we thank you so much for your support X Thanks

You really do work so hard!!

ConnieBelle · 07/09/2012 08:00

I've just 'popped by' for a quick check to see if our woolly squares arrived...so pleased that they have. All knitted the 'Austrian/Continental' way...no 'throwing' going on here. My dear mum thought that the blankets knitted so far were "beautiful"...
Thanks Pistey! x

Baskets45 · 07/09/2012 12:11

Wed's unclaimed squares from me (green and pink/purple) - in a recycled envelope, hence Pistey knowing where they were from (keep that to yourself, please, Pistey, I like idea of being dark and mysterious, despite being blond and gabby!!). Glad they arrived. I was totally flummoxed by PO being shut Monday for holiday, also forgot to put name on them. Sorry!

WhoremoaneeGOLDGrainger · 07/09/2012 13:56

Have you not got mine again Pistey? Posted Saturday, white jiffy bag? Note inside on post it (yellow)?

Pistey - as soon as i can get them to look like flowers, i will send them on to you - you seriously wouldnt have wanted the ones i made this week. Have unravelled them four times!!!!!

BUT wonderful (and i do not often use this term) DH has signed me up for "The Art of Crochet", to be delivered no less, so you may get some different style squares in the future. You will have to watch this space.....

WhoremoaneeGOLDGrainger · 07/09/2012 22:05

Oh and cannot believe it takes the PO five days for 1st class to get from me to you. Think i am going to use a different post box next time....

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/09/2012 10:51
