We have heard the desperately sad news that 3girlies daughter Flora has lost her battle against a brain tumour, she was 6 years old. 3girlies' thread is here

We send 3girlies our love and are so sorry for her loss. She and her family are in our hearts and thoughts X

We have offered to make the family a blanket, and hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them. We are so pleased that they have accepted.

So we are calling out for knitters, crocheters and donors. Can you help us?

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread, and also PM me so we know. I will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with any admin. We now have Paypal to make donating easier for all. So please PM if you would like to join us, or if I can help match you. Knotty will try to answer any queries you may have. Sincere heartfelt thanks. Thanks

Once again the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cash)
  • Rowan Cashsoft DK
  • Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
  • Artesano Superwash Merino DK

    The Colours
Pinks, warm purple, greens, blues, silver, cream
If choosing cream we ask that you go for the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013

    Themes
Flowers please, also initials F, P and L.

    4mm needles or hook.

Do use the crafting guide on the website to help you with lots of practical info, and if interested there are a lot of linked suggestions for squares.

Previous blankets can be seen on the Woolly Hugs website and we are on Facebook and Twitter at MNWoollyHugs which are good ways to keep in touch.

But once again, we thank you so much for your support X Thanks

So sorry to hear that another blanket is needed. I saw 3girlies' thread yesterday; desperately sad. Sad

I'll be away for the next two weeks from tomorrow, but as long as there are at least three weeks until the posting deadline I'd love to knit a square. I can start this evening as I have some wool left over from the last blanket.

So sorry to hear about this.

I have a square already done (bramble stitch), and will do a flower one too.

So sorry to hear this sad news.

I would be happy to knit some squares - not been involved in a blanket before, so not quite sure how it all works.

Read this thread the other day, so sad. I've got enough wool to do a square for this one, I am still finishing my last one for Giraffes, so I will post them all together next week if that is OK.

oh my word - that's so very very sad. Only 6 Sad so very sorry for your loss 3girlies
Please count me in. I have some wool left in both pinks that my donor sent me for Expat and Giraffes blankets but I don't think there's enough for a square out of each and I don't know how I could mix them both as never used 2 colours before. I have 11grams approx of each...I seem to remember reading somewhere to weigh what's left but not sure how to calculate how many rows that would give me.
Should I send what's left of these current balls with the squares I'll be sending on the 6th for someone else more expert to work their magic with and just ask nicely for a new donor? Not sure what I should do Confused

You could get yourself to trib and co on the support thread and they can explain how to make stripes, I can do stripes so it can't be difficult Grin
