This is a continuation of our thread supporting MNers creating blanket squares for Woolly Hugs. All are welcome and I'm hoping to post a link soon to a collection of our fave patterns, pics and links to keep them all in one place. In the meantime, this new thread will allow phone-based MNers like RedRosie to return from Special Phone Exile where she goes whenever the thread has too many messages on.

This is a thread of peace where knitters and crocheters, donors and crafters are all equally welcome.

Is it mid summer already? I've missed early summer somewhere! 10 woolly squares on their way to you pistey.

Is there such a thing as knitters hand? I've done so much knitting these last few days my left hand is aching and a bit swollen. I've had to take my rings off.

Trib I'm going nag advise you to get seen too. Hereth end the nag!!

tribpot · 07/06/2012 15:27

Be careful Glaikit (she says, having not yet been to Minor Injuries) - one of the reasons for learning different styles of knitting (I mean continental vs. English etc) is to avoid getting RSI from doing too much one way. Take it easy!

Rosie - you can't threaten to write a poem as a punishment and then be offended when I regard it as a punishment. Deeply flawed logic. Wink

Anyway, I haven't been yet because I've been on a conference call for 2 hours. Now have I have to do some document updates and reply to a few irritating emails, and then I will see what's what.

Midsummer's over there Glaikit, behind the rain clouds Grin

Glad you made the right decision Trib. You don't want Rosie to write more poetry to make it worse.

HRHBarbaraWoodlouse · 07/06/2012 15:30

Cross posted with you there Trib. I see you haven't done what a bunch of highly unqualified cyberknitting pals have told you after all. Tsk tsk.

tribpot · 07/06/2012 15:34

I haven't done it yet Barbara. Critical matters of government required my attention first. Well, sort of.

HRHBarbaraWoodlouse · 07/06/2012 15:37

Trib's To Do List:

  1. Critical matters of governmental importance
  2. Minor Injuries Clinic
  3. Sort out the rest of Rosie's life
  4. Stand by to rescue Barbara when she finally starts The Ballet Cardigan of Doom
tribpot · 07/06/2012 15:48

That takes me to 4 pm, Barbara, what shall I do after that? Wink

Looking forward to the ballet cardigan of doom. This godawful weather reminds me I need to stop being nice and doing baby clothes and blankets for other people (I don't mean our ones of course, but baby ones for people at work) and do a cardigan for myself. Quite excited about tackling a bigger project and one I can parade around in. Presumably 'parading' is the only possible way of wearing garments one has constructed oneself?

Ode to Tribs Foot

Oh Trib she has a poorly foot,
It's getting worse, it's quite kaput

It hurts and aches and swells a bit
It worsens when she tries to knit

She puts it off, prevaricates
But a poorly foot? It JUST CAN'T WAIT!

I can go on for hours if you want ...

tribpot · 07/06/2012 16:14

Good god. I think that has finally done it.

Have at you, NHS-just-outside-Leeds!

Loving the Ode Smile

Lots more woolly arrivals on the Freds Grin

Go on Rosie, don't stop.....

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 16:34

I am a woman of massive hitherto undiscovered poetic talent my word.

I shall keep composing until the foot has been seen.

A photo of the foot in a medical facility on Trib's profile will suffice.

KnottyLocks · 07/06/2012 16:37

Oh I can say with absolute certainty that you can still wiggle toes having broken a metatarsal in your foot. It bloody hurts!

Good work, girls. Loving the peer pressure and poetry Grin

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 16:46

She says she's gone ... She said she would ...
Well, we shall see if Trib is good

A poorly foot it stabs and stings
And stops her doing other things.

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 16:53

We hope she's waiting in the queue
Before the poorly foot turns blue

It may drop off, if it's not seen
By medics through an x-ray screen ...

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 16:55

Oops.

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 07/06/2012 17:00

There once was a knitted named Trib
Who was being a bit of a div
She couldn't put on a boot
Because she'd hurt her foot
But I still like the cut of her jib

tribpot · 07/06/2012 17:09

nicked a doctor's pass

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 07/06/2012 17:24

Now Trib are you telling porkie pies??? We all know you are computer wiz, and could probably knock out the fake badges in your sleep! Wink

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 17:27

That link doesn't work for me ...

Great poetry Glaikit! Top notch.

RedRosie · 07/06/2012 17:35

We wait and wait and wait for proof
That the NHS has fixed her hoof

:o

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 07/06/2012 17:35

I've been wanting to rhyme Trib and jib for ages!!!

tribpot · 07/06/2012 17:55

Poor Trib. That looks SO SORE.

Thanks for you ...

MinnieBar · 07/06/2012 18:00

Ooh that does look really sore.

Poor Trib. Hope you don't have to wait too long to be seen.
